The title "Floricienta" is a combination of "Cenicienta", as the Cinderella fairy tale is known in Catalan, and "Flor", a reference to the main character.
Cris Morena disliked the changes made on the Mexican remake Lola: Érase una vez (2007). Producer Pedro Damián turned down the Latin/world music aspect from the original soundtrack in favor of pop rock. Morena stated, "Don't fool yourselves, Floricienta is no rockstar!"
Episode 172 broke a record in ratings on Argentinian television. It is the one Federico finally finds out about Delfina and Malala's true intentions behind Delfina's marriage to him - and exposes her as a "witch" at the altar.
Actress Florencia Bertotti was later sued by Cris Morena for her creation of the similar series Niní (2009), which she produced as well as starred. Morena won the case.
