Nashville may be the place Lawrence Rothman first cut their teeth as an artist, but it took the ongoing surge in Americana and emo country for them to fall in love with the city.
“I kind of sum up Nashville with all the music that’s happening adjacent to the Americana sound right now — and I’m including Zach Bryan — with the rawness of the songwriting, and the lyrics being first,” Rothman tells Rolling Stone.

Updated with details: A nearly 45-minute power failure hit Los Angeles International Airport at about 2:30 p.m. today, halting passenger screenings and potentially delaying flights. The Department of Water and Power said its crews have restored service and that “the outage is being investigated.”
“Power has been restored to most locations or is coming online,” per a 3:08 p.m. tweet from Lax’s official account. “Tsa is expected to resume screening in the terminals within 10-15 minutes. Conveyances will take a little longer to restart.”
The airport had tweeted earlier that “most of our terminals are impacted by the loss of power and crews are assessing the issue. Some departing flights may be impacted due to no power to jet bridges. Please allow extra time and check your flight status as we learn more.”

Welcome to this week’s Impact Wrestling review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and the Impact Wrestling site has been taken by a malware/spyware program (as per my computer’s insistence) so we’re going without the re-cap from their site. Anyway, this show has a match or two worth looking at, so let’s look at them.
Match #1: Golden Magic defeated Tjp, Trey and Taurus – Fatal 4 Way Match
My Opinion: 3.1 out of 5 – This was a fun match that had enough thrilling action to make this worth the trouble to have booked at all. I’m surprised that Magic won, but that’s a good thing some-times. You can’t always just go with the safe choice. Every-body looked good here and seemed to work well together. The match is better than the review of it, trust me. Overall, this was a good way to start the card.

Fallah gets the upperhand with a big belly-to-belly suplex. Fallah hits a Samoan Drop when Jake and Dave Crist come to ringside! Scarlett fights back and hits a rolling senton off the apron! Fallah slams Callihan to the mat and almost scores the upset victory!

Welcome to the Impact Wrestling review for this week, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some excellent wrestling to cover, so let’s not waste any time talking and just finish immediately. Good-night, every-body!
Match #1: Fenix beat Sami Callihan
I can’t believe I just wrote that. Fenix was actually booked to beat Sami. I’m thrilled that someone other than a white guy won a wrestling match for a change. That’s not a knock on any one promotion, but it always seems that just us white folks are booked to win the wrestling matches, even when it’s better for the non-white people to have a crack at glory. That’s right, we’re discussing equal opportunity wrestling. Aren’t you excited?! Screw it… this was a great match that oughta get your blood pumping no matter what color you are. The...

With reboots of “Charmed” and “Magnum Pi” on the way, TheWrap looks at TV revivals that never should’ve happened
“Charlie’s Angels”
“Charlie’s Angels” perfectly captured the goofiness of the ’70s, but it felt painfully out of date in 2011. Critics and audiences agreed: It was canceled after three episodes.
“Ironside”
Blair Underwood has done some memorable TV work, starting with his career-making role on “L.A. Law.” But his 2013 take on the Raymond Burr crime drama was yanked from NBC’s air even faster than you can say “Lax” or “The Event.”
“The Bionic Woman”
A 2007 take on the “Six Million Dollar Man” spinoff, this NBC show’s original sin was casting “Battlestar Galactica” ass-kicker Katee Sackhoff as the recurring villain rather than the lead.
“Knight Rider”
Like so much ’80s television, the original “Knight Rider” is over-celebrated. But NBC’s 2008 version lacked even the original’s dumb charms — and David Hasselhoff.

Mindy Kaling, Tonya Harding, Madonna, and Lax Mandis—not to be confused with Max Landis—all make appearances in one way or another on this year’s Black List, the annual collection of Hollywood film executives’ favorite unproduced screenplays. However, Kaling’s contribution, an untitled script about women in late-night comedy, is well on the way to becoming a reality with Emma Thompson attached. The same goes for Steven Rogers’ take on the Harding saga, I, Tonya, which Margot Robbie has boarded. Meanwhile, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman also pops up on the list with Life Itself, another multigenerational story bound to make you weep that will star Oscar Isaac.

Wife Jenna was nearby sporting sunglasses and a fedora as she held their dog, a Spitz named Meeka. This family is too cute!

The end of the world as we know it feels more than fine if you party with James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jay Barachel, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and a ton of other La hipsters. After Seth picks up his old pal Jay at Lax (with the paparazzi taking notice) they eventually end up at Franco's cool pad. Then the rapture hits. Yep, This Is the End is a Bible-inspired cautionary tale about living the Hollywood life. While the good folks at a convenience store get zapped up to heaven via a blue beam, all the guests at Franco's get left behind. If you thought this would be so dumb it's funny, like Franco versus McBride in a filth-off funny, you'd be right. Monsters, bad CGI and plenty of decapitations give the...

Before she was an Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer was a character actress, making regular guest star appearances on shows like "The Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Ugly Betty" ... and even auditioning for the role of Donna on "Parks and Recreation."
When Retta -- the actress who got the part on the beloved NBC comedy -- was asked how she transitioned from standup to "Parks and Rec," she said, "My manager called and said they were casting a pilot. Octavia Spencer and a lot of other of my 'types' were there."
Prior to her Academy Award-winning role in "The Help," Spencer also appeared in episodes of "Lax," "The X-Files," "ER" and "The Big Bang Theory." Post-Oscar, she also appeared in the final season of "30 Rock" as herself.
Rainn Wilson recently revealed famous names who auditioned for key roles on "The Office" before the show was cast, including Adam Scott for Jim,...

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan were side by side last night as they headed through Lax. The pair boarded a flight for NYC, where they're expected to participate in a fun charity event tomorrow at Carnegie Hall. Channing and Jenna will take the stage at the Revlon Concert for the Rainforest Fund, along with Meryl Streep, Sting, Elton John, James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, and Bruno Mars. Channing and Jenna may sing, as the event's theme is "Songs From the Silver Screen." The couple, who met while making the dance flick Step Up, will also show off their moves. They've apparently been practicing, as Jenna recently posted a photo of her and Channing dancing at a studio. Channing has a brief break in his moviemaking schedule, but plans for one of his next projects are coming together. He's set to star in Jupiter Ascending, and Mila Kunis may have a role as his leading lady.

Anyone who became addicted to HBO’s horse racing drama Luck — which the net elected to cancel on Wednesday — should get some closure in the next two weeks. The ninth and final episode that is set to air on March 25 has the feel of finale, even though it wasn’t necessarily designed to be the series’ last, EW has learned.
And HBO will still release the entire first season on DVD. The only lingering question is whether the scenes that were shot during Luck’s final days will be added as extras: The drama from David Milch and Michael Mann...

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan returned to the West Coast yesterday and shared a sweet kiss while waiting for their car outside of Lax. The pair spent a few days in NYC, where Jenna joined the crowds taking in the latest designs on the runway. She caught a presentation from Miu Miu and then joined Stacy Keibler and Bar Refaeli on the front row to check out Marchesa's Fall 2012 collection. Channing and Jenna's Pda is a routine sighting lately, and the pair have lots to be happy about. Channing's latest film, The Vow, took the top spot at the box office last weekend and earned an additional $11.6 million on Valentine's Day. His upcoming comedy 21 Jump Street is also getting early rave reviews. Channing shares the big screen with Jonah Hill in the buddy flick, due out March 16, which is loosely based on Johnny Depp's popular '80s TV show.

It seems like celebrities being kicked off of airplanes is becoming as synonymous to air travel as those hard-to-open bags of peanuts, tiny bathrooms, annoying Captain spiels, and cliched jokes about the perils of flying.
On Tuesday, Alec Baldwin joined the growing list of stars who have been booted from planes. But Baldwin’s exit might be the best one yet, or at the very least, the most relatable considering a game of Words With Friends got him in trouble with American Airlines. We can’t help but wonder if it’s because of all of the buzz that FX’s American Horror Story has received since its pilot preview last week, but the word is that NBC has ordered a script of Frankenstein. Universal owns the intellectual property rights to the story.
It will be written by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner, executive producers for House. Other writing credits for the two include John Doe, Roswell and Smallville, as well as Lax and Boston Public. Ok, there’s some promise of intelligent writing, which is excellent news.
THR, who broke the story, say the script is “described as a modern-day take on the legend of Frankenstein”. Ah, but which version? The original novel, or the Boris Karloff movie? Not surprisingly, the movie took all the scary bits and left all the beauty and lyricism and most of the plot development on the page.

"My life and biz is so intertwined in every way that it's hard to make that clean separation on and offline." That's what Candace Alper (@NameYourTuneCDs) said on Twitter when I asked about the importance of separating your personal and business life on Facebook. As an entrepreneur who runs a made-to-order children's CD company, she is comfortable mixing business with pleasure online. Monica Roddey (@MicaR) agrees. She says "my online persona = my 'real life' persona ... what you see is what you get."
I fall into Alper's and Roddey's camp. When I signed up for Facebook years ago, I opened it up to anyone and everyone. Although I now also maintain a fan page, it's still hard for me to refuse friend invites that make their way into my personal account. However, the majority of the responses I received disagreed with this approach. Matt Hall (@mattwiter) writes that "you simply don't...

John Mark Galecki, better known to the world as Johnny Galecki and the star of Big Bang Theory (TV), was born on April 30, 1975, to Richard and Mary Lou Galecki. Dad was a U.S. Air Force officer stationed in Belgium and mom was a mortgage consultant. At the age of three, Johnny and his family, which also includes sister Allison and brother Nick, relocated back to the United States, setting in Oak Park, Illinois. Galecki, who quit school in the middle of eighth grade, moved with his family from Chicago to Long Beach, California, when he was 14. When the family decided that they missed Chicago too much, they all moved back to Chicago. Well, not all of them. Galecki, then just 14, settled into a studio apartment in Burbank. On his own at 14? "On my own, yeah," Galecki told TimeOut Chicago a couple of years ago. "It made sense at the time.

The makers of the Underworld franchise are serious about continuing the war between lycans and death dealers on. Producers Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright, as well as original Underworld director Len Wiseman, have hired John Hlavin to pen the story for movie #4. Hlavin served as a story editor on The Shield, the cop procedural series that starred Michael Chiklis. Hlavin also worked on shows like Daybreak, E-Ring and Lax, so he's not a newbie to the scene.
But it might shape up that the next Underworld movie won't have any of the stars associated with the first three films. In short, there may be no Kate Beckinsale and no Rhona Mitra since there's no signed contracts for either actress. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the writer told the outlet that Underworld 4 won't be a prequel like Rise of the Lycans. "It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences,...

In 1992, Executive Producer Aaron Spelling’s latest soap-drama Melrose Place was lacking some serious ratings sizzle. Heather Locklear was recruited to play the stiletto heeled, micro-mini wearing maneater, Amanda Woodward. The character stirred things up in the boardroom (at D&D advertising agency) and in the bedroom.
Almost overnight, ratings climbed, and Locklear was credited with a 22% rise in ratings, according to Entertainment Weekly. Originally hired for a guest starring stint, Locklear remained on the show throughout its 7 year run, and her character’s bitchy persona and questionable board-room attire provided fodder for countless water cooler chats.
Later, Locklear appeared on Spin City, Scrubs, and Two and Half Men. All three shows saw a bump in ratings as well (”The Locklear Effect”, so to speak). Her 2004 series Lax didn’t fare as well, though, and was quickly canceled.
Flash forward 17 years, and the CW network is hoping Locklear can work her magic once again.
