Brian Bonsall started acting on Family Ties when he was 5 years old, playing the role of Andy Keaton through the show's final three seasons.
He said of his time on Family Ties: "Good memories for sure. They were a second family to me, growing up doing that ... Michael J. Fox used to come pick me up in his Ferrari, taught me to dive into a pool. It was so comfortable hanging out."
The break helped him appear in more 1990s shows, including Father Hood and Blank Check, until he retired in 1995. He later shifted his career and pursued his passion for music with several bands.
Bonsall found himself in trouble when he was arrested in Boulder, Colo.

An aging Commander in Chief faces health struggles, and as a result, his younger, female vice-president ascends. That is, of course, the story of the 2024 presidential election in which Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee, replacing an ailing Joe Biden. But it also happens to be a TV show plot – nearly 20 years ago.
The series, Commander in Chief, which premiered in 2005, starred Geena Davis as the first female vice president in American history, selected to help an older, white male political candidate appeal to other constituencies. Sound familiar? There are notable differences between the political fiction of the show and the political realities of the 2024 race, however. For one, fictional President Teddy Bridges is a Republican, while Mackenzie, portrayed by Davis, is an Independent. Oh, and in the show (spoiler alert!) the president dies, leading to the first female Commander in Chief.

He's back! Fresh off returning to the most famous role of his career (when he returned as Batman in The Flash), Michael Keaton is reprising his second-most-famous role, also for the first time in over 30 years, as he brings back the wacky, outrageous, out-of-this-world Beetlejuice.
Yes, the juice is indeed loose, as Keaton and Burton reunite on the sequel nearly 40 years in the making, and they aren't the only returnees from the original movie, as Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara reprise their roles for Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. They will also be joined by franchise newcomers Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux.
If you'd like to know a bit more about the cast of the original, specifically those who are back for the sequel, here's what you need to know about the ages they were then, and the ages they are now.

The election of the first female U.S. president was played for laughs when Kisses for My President hit theaters six decades ago.
Directed by Curtis Bernhardt, the Warner Bros. film stars Polly Bergen as President Leslie McCloud, who navigates relations with Soviets and a dictator in Central America. Meanwhile, her husband, Thad (Fred MacMurray), struggles to accept his role. The movie’s 60th anniversary — it was released Aug. 21, 1964 — arrives during the Democratic National Convention as Vice President Kamala Harris aims to become the first female commander in chief.
THR‘s review called Kisses for My President a “topical, romantic farce”: “It considers the problems of having a female president, not only for the lady, but for her husband, who must fill the functions normally assumed by the ‘first lady.'”
At the end of the movie, Leslie learns she’s pregnant after fainting in the White House and resigns.

Donald Sutherland was the award-winning thespian who has starred in dozens of titles throughout his career before his death on June 20, 2024. Let’s take a look back at 16 of his greatest films, ranked worst to best.
Despite decades of acclaimed work, the Canadian-born star has yet to earn an Oscar nomination, though he did receive an honorary statuette for his body of work in 2017. The Golden Globes recognized him with nominations for “M*A*S*H” (Best Comedy Actor in 1970), “Ordinary People” (Best Drama Actor in 1980) and “Without Limits” (Best Supporting Actor in 1998), so it certainly wasn’t for lack of good options. Additionally, he reaped a joint BAFTA bid in 1973 for his performances in “Don’t Look Now” and “Steelyard Blues.” Since Sutherland continues to land juicy roles to this day, perhaps his overdue Oscar narrative could pay off sooner than we think.

From writer-showrunner John A. Norris, Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your very first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is the adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of automobiles. And while some characters will be navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school, others will be racing from a dark past.
The series also includes previously announced stars Ryan Phillippe, Nathalie Kelley, Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, Uriah Shelton, Drake Rodger, Johnna Dias-Watson, Josh Macqueen and Mia Healey.
Lanter will portray Darren, a wealthy and powerful father of 17-year-old Harris (Macqueen), who, like his dad, is a serious street racer.

This November, after three full years of waiting, fans of FX’s “Fargo” will be treated to a brand new season. Unlike the anthology series’ fourth iteration, which served as a prequel to its first two, the upcoming fifth batch of episodes will tell an entirely original Midwestern crime story. Leading the season’s star-studded cast is Jon Hamm, who has his sights set on earning his first Best TV Movie/Limited Series Actor Golden Globe nomination this winter. Since he was already honored in the corresponding drama series category for “Mad Men” in 2008 and 2016, his possible new victory would make him the seventh man to clinch Golden Globes for performances on both continuing and non-continuing TV programs.
Hamm, who picked up four additional Golden Globe bids for “Mad Men” between 2009 and 2013, has already begun his splashy 2023 return to prestige TV by playing a new supporting role on the third season of “The Morning Show.

Failing to win the Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model reality show competition in 2004 may have been the best thing that could have happened to Matt Lanter, because between that year and 2006 he had recurring or starring roles in the series Point Pleasant, Commander in Chief, Heroes, and Shark. Besides guest roles, he’d star in a number of films, voiced the character of Aquaman in a variety of animated productions from Warner Bros/DC Comics and was a series regular on the cult favorite Timeless.
All of that was eclipsed, however, by his voicing the character of Anakin Skywalker on the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which he began doing in 2008 and continues to do periodically. The fourth and final installment of the YouTube Originals series “Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil” tasked Therapy Studios editor Shannon Albrink with tying together the work of Paul Little, who cut the first three episodes, and of providing closure to a volatile and vulnerable period in the pop star’s life.
The key, according to Albrink, was in maintaining Lovato’s truth. But with that came the additional challenge of a brief engagement — and subsequent breakup — as well as the singer’s exploration of being “California sober,” opting for moderation as opposed to abstinence.
Albrink reveals how she edited the episode, the challenges that come with sensitive topics and how Lovato’s story inspired her own work.

“When you’re making the film, it’s for not just me but all the Gold Star families who were behind us and everybody on the crew and the actors and military personnel who were there, there was this galvanizing effect,” Lurie explains when reflecting on how his son impacted the making of this deeply personal film. “We had no money. Finneas performed his charmingly frank holiday song, “Another Year,” on The Tonight Show Tuesday, December 8th.
The songwriter and producer recorded the performance in a large warehouse space where the light pouring in through the graffiti-coated windows gave off a stained glass feel fittingly reminiscent of a cathedral. Finneas delivered the song with just piano accompaniment, crooning the tune’s sweet but uncertain lyrics, “Don’t waste a dime on me/Just want your company/Beside a Christmas tree, if the dog allows it.”

Finneas takes a clever look at the Christmas season with his new holiday song “Another Year.”
“Never snows in L.A. / You’d never know it was a holiday,” the songwriter sings over stark piano chords. “I don’t believe that Jesus Christ was born to save me / That’s an awful lot of pressure for a baby.”
In a statement, Finneas noted that he wrote the tune last Christmas, “with a year of uncertainty ahead of us.” He continued, “Had I known anything I know now about how 2020 would go,...

We knew Demi Lovato would be debuting a new song at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards on October 14, and she used the opportunity to make a direct political statement. In “Commander in Chief,” she makes it clear who she’s singing about. Watch the music video above. In the description under the video she urges, “Please join me and vote in this year’s election.”
Pop stars are often general with the political statements they put to music, like Taylor Swift backing gay rights in “You Need to Calm Down” or Katy Perry commenting that “we think we’re free” while “living in a bubble” in “Chained to the Rhythm,” but Lovato is direct with her criticism of the US president: “You can’t get enough of shutting down systems for personal gain / Fighting fires with flyers and praying for rain / Do you get off on pain? / We’re not pawns in your game.

Demi Lovato has done it again, and this time, it's in the form of a political anthem. During Wednesday night's 2020 Billboard Music Awards, the singer unveiled an emotional new song, and it grapples with the current state of our country ahead of the election. "Commander in Chief" rips into how President Donald Trump has handled issues such as the coronavirus pandemic and racial injustice, and

"Commander in Chief, honestly, if I did the things you do, I couldn't sleep, seriously / Do you even know the truth? / We're in a state of crisis, people are dying,...

After debuting her new “Commander in Chief” song earlier in the day, Demi Lovato delivered an emotive version of the protest song Wednesday night on the Billboard Music Awards telecast — a powerful anti-Trump message for NBC to be putting on the air, especially the night before the network is to host a controversial town hall with the president.
But after the telecast aired, it seemed to be stirring more controversy among the left than the right, surprisingly, as a result of a TMZ report about edits made to the performance by the network. The website published what it said was the original edit of Lovato’s performance, in which a large electronic backdrop was to have lit up at the end, revealing the word “Vote” in huge white letters. This was not the version seen on the telecast, which had Lovato’s performance ending with an awkward closeup of the singer looking down,...

Rod Lurie had spent about an hour talking to TheWrap about “The Outpost” — the combat movie he directed that was scheduled to have its world premiere at this week’s South by Southwest Film Festival — when he stopped and frowned.

The Golden Globes giveth and the Golden Globes taketh away. Since the turn of the century several prominent TV stars have been embraced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association one year, only to be completely skunked the next, including Jennifer Aniston (“Friends”), Andy Samberg (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) and Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”). As the TV landscape keeps changing and a record number of shows premiere each year, we can expect this unfortunate pattern to continue because there’s simply not enough room for everyone to be recognized. So what might this mean for the current crop of returning Golden Globe champs?

Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) is the frontrunner to win her second Best TV Drama Actress Screen Actors Guild Award, leading with 9/2 odds. Not only would a victory make her one of handful of multiple winners in the category, but she would be just the second person to win the award for two different shows.
Oh, who took home Best TV Drama Actress honors in 2006 for “Grey’s Anatomy,” would join Julianna Margulies, who won two SAGs each for “ER” (1998-99) and “The Good Wife” (2010-11). Margulies’ four wins are also a record in the category.
Five other women have prevailed more than once here, but they were all for the same show: Gillian Anderson for “The X-Files” (1996-97), Allison Janney for “The West Wing” (2001-02), Viola Davis for “How to Get Away with Murder” (2015-16), Claire Foy for “The Crown” (2017-18) and Edie Falco for “The Sopranos”.
