- The new military attache is also second in command at the US embassy in "Moldavia". The loser at the recent presidential election isn't letting that stop him. The president seeks protection at the US embassy bringing it under attack.
- Jean Claude plays an official who's just been appointed as Second In Command to the U.S.Ambassador at an American Embassy in a small, turbulent Eastern European nation. When local insurgents attempt a coup d'etat, the nation's President takes refuge inside the embassy. The embassy is then besieged by the well-armed insurgents. The U.S. Ambassador is killed in the ensuing action, and it's now up to Jean-Claude and the embassy's small detachment of U.S. Marines to fend off the attackers.—Anonymous
- Sam Keenan is a decorated Navy Commander, sent to the Eastern European nation of Moldavia. Keenan is sent to the U.S. Embassy in Moldavia's capital city to become the new Security Attache there. When he arrives, Keenan learns that Moldavia is in the middle of a civil war. At the embassy, Keenan meets with Ambassador George Norland, who makes Keenan the deputy ambassador. Recently, the U.S. installed a new government into Moldavia, and it's a government led by Moldavia's newly-elected president Yuri Amirev. Amirev wants the nation to be run as a democracy, but under the command of Anton Tavarov, Communist insurgents have caused a riot at the presidential palace, threatening the fragile democracy. The insurgents are loyal to dictative former president Alexei Kirilov, who is a communist who abused Moldavia's people. When the palace guards start firing on the insurgents without Amirev's go-ahead, the insurgents storm the palace, demanding Amirev's head. Keenan volunteers to bring Amirev to the embassy. But events reach critical mass, and the insurgents open fire. Keenan barely makes it back with Amirev, but the fight isn't over yet. Fifty Americans are holed up in the embassy, and Tavarov and his massive army have arrived at the gates, with plans to crash the building and drag Amirev out by any means necessary. And Norland is killed by a rocket that was launched by one of Tavarov's men. To defend the embassy, Keenan has only 15 Marines, CIA bureaucrat Frank Gaines, limited ammunition, and his martial arts skills to hold Tavarov's army off until American reinforcements arrive. And Keenan's girlfriend, reporter Michelle Whitman, is one of the hostages. With Tavarov's crew getting in position for attack, a power struggle taking place between Keenan and Gaines, and help hours away, it will fall to Keenan to rescue the hostages.—Todd Baldridge
- Commander Sam Keenan (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a decorated US Navy SEAL, is sent to the Eastern European nation of Moldavia to become the new security attache at the US Embassy. He arrives on July 3rd.
When he arrives, Keenan learns that Moldavia is in the middle of a civil war. At the embassy, Keenan meets with Ambassador George Norland (Colin Stinton), who designates Keenan as his "second in command" despite the traditional diplomatic hierarchy, which is contested by others afterward. Jennifer Lennard (Elizabeth Barondes) is George's COS. Regional Security Officer John Lydon (Vlad Ivanov).
Recently, the US installed a new government in Moldavia, which is led by Moldavia's newly elected president Yuri Amirev (Serban Celea). Amirev wants the nation to be run as a democratic republic. but under the command of Anton Tavarov (Velibor Topic), communist insurgents have caused a riot at the presidential palace, threatening the fragile stability of the country. The insurgents are loyal to Alexei Kirilov (Costel Lupea), the former brutal communist dictator of Moldavia. Amirev had sent his army, under Gen Borgov to the mountains to deal with a militia base camp. They are at least a few hours away and have already turned back towards the capital.
When the palace guards (under orders from Tavarov) start firing on the insurgents without Amirev's authorization, the insurgents storm the palace, demanding Amirev's head. Amirev asks for Nolan's help to restore order. Keenan volunteers to bring Amirev to the embassy. But events reach critical mass, and the insurgents open fire. Keenan barely makes it back with Amirev, but the fight isn't over yet. Tavarov had blocked all exits from the palace, so Keenan sent a decoy car first, which was captured. And shortly after he took Amirev out with the 2nd car which was able to escape as the first car had cleared all blockades.
The insurgents had blocked the entry to the embassy, but quick thinking from Private First Class Pazzini (Dan Radulescu), Private First Class Burke (Catalin Paraschiv) and Private First Class Zanger (Raffaello Degruttola) is able to save Keenan and Amirev and get them inside the embassy compound. ZAnger and Pazzini are caught outside the compound.
Fifty Americans are holed up in the embassy, and Tavarov and his massive army have arrived at the gates, with plans to crash the building and drag Amirev out by any means necessary. To add to Keenan's problems, Norland is killed by a rocket that was launched by one of Tavarov's men.
To defend the embassy, Keenan has only 15 Marines (Captain John Baldwin (Alan McKenna)), CIA bureaucrat Frank Gaines (William Tapley), limited ammunition, and his martial arts skills to hold Tavarov's army off until American reinforcements arrive. Marshall Geller (Mihai Bisericanu) is in charge of Comms tech. Keenan connects to the White House situation room and is told that Marine reinforcements are 6 hours away. Apache helicopters along with marine helicopters take off from a US base to rescue the embassy personnel.
With Tavarov's crew getting in position for attack, a power struggle takes place between Keenan and Gaines, with help hours away. Gaines want the evacuation plan to be implemented, but Keenan argues that it would mean only 15 people getting away. He argues to hold their position. Borgov is 4 hours away.
Tavarov calls Keenan and demands the release of Amirev. Keenan refuses. To make matters worse, Keenan's girlfriend, reporter Michelle Whitman (Julie Cox), is one of the hostages in Tavarov's custody. Keenan gets Zanger and Pazzini to plant a c4 explosive to create a diversion and manages to rescue the hostages, who were kept right in front of the embassy outside perimeter.
Keenan manages to bring the hostages into the embassy compound by killing 25 insurgents. Tavarov prepares an invasion, even as Gaines argues to surrender Amirev. The insurgents shoot down all CCTVs and the communications array. Keenan contacts White house via sat phone and is told that Baldwin is in command, not Keenan. Baldwin supports Gaines in the evacuation plan. Keenan decides to stay. The evacuation seems to go according to plan (with Gaines taking the tunnels under the embassy to get to the evacuation point), but once the first bus has been loaded, it explodes, and Gaines realizes that they have been set up. The remaining survivors retreat back into the embassy. Pazzini and Zanger are injured as well. Baldwin sacrifices his life to hold off the insurgents and allow time for the survivors to get back. Michelle gets stuck in the tunnels and Keenan overrides Gaines to get back into the tunnels and rescue her, fighting and killing many insurgents in the process. Marines are 1 hr out.
Gaines finds a listening device planted on Michelle and this is how Tavarov knew everything that they were planning inside the embassy. 8 marines are left. Keenan prepares Claymore mines to protect the compound as he expects a full-on invasion from Tavarov now. The invasion starts as the insurgents blow up the main gate with an explosive laden SUV. Keenan sets off the Claymore when enough insurgents are inside the compound. The marines inflict heavy casualties, but the insurgents have numbers on their side. As Borgov nears the embassy, Tavarov pulls his troops back.
When the supposedly loyal General Borgov (Eugen Cristea) (a personal CIA "asset" claimed by Gaines) arrives, he turns out to side with the insurgents (Gaines is killed when he goes out to shake Borgov's hands, and then finds that the militia forces are hiding behind his tanks) but Keenan rescues the surviving personnel with help from arriving American military reinforcements. Tavarov gets inside the embassy with some of his men. Keenan kills Tavarov in hand-to-hand combat. The civilians are evacuated.
