In a 2010 interview with Entertainment Weekly, he shared what he discovered about politics and Hollywood during his time in the industry.
“I don’t want to hold office. Every day that seems like a worse and worse job to have,” he said. “Look at the level of political discourse now. It’s very depressing to me. I did a lot of research down in D.

At face value, Sony PlayStation’s decision to skip this year’s Gamescom might seem surprising and puzzling. After all, Gamescom is one of the biggest gaming events of the year, and PlayStation is missing a great opportunity to display everything prepared for the second half of the year and beyond.
However, this is the fifth year in a row that Sony is doing the same thing, and with a consistent lack of major announcements shown in recent Sony-organized events like the State of Play, fans are right to be worried and are all saying the same thing.

Last week, the entire contents of PlayStation‘s latest State of Play event, where it shares updates about games and consoles, were leaked online.
Leaks are common in the gaming sphere. But what’s notable about this leak is that it happened just hours after PlayStation scheduled the State of Play presentation on YouTube–a process that involves pre-uploading the whole event and letting the video sit in the back end of the channel, waiting to go live.
While videos are scheduled for premiere, they’re invisible to the general public, and the often confidential information within is meant to be safe. But while YouTube’s 2+ billion users can’t access the video, its thousands of employees and contractors can.
And Insider Gaming reporter Tom Henderson thinks they did. Within 18 hours of State of Play being pre-uploaded to YouTube, he was contacted by four different people to offer him the...

The PlayStation State of Play came to a close on a high note as Team Asobi revealed that Astro Bot is getting his own full-fledged game this year. The adorable bot has quickly climbed the ranks and become somewhat of a mascot for Sony’s platform, but before the robot came into the players’ lives, there used to be another icon who may have been forgotten.
Being one of the most recognizable gaming characters not that long ago, the former PlayStation mascot deserves to be treated with more respect, and only Astro Bot has the potential to help him out with his relevance.

God of War is one of the strongest PlayStation first-party franchises and the creator has some advice on how Sony could have ended the recent State of Play on a higher note. David Jaffe is renowned for his sarcasm but one of his ideas genuinely made sense.
The PS5 has entered the latter stage of the console life cycle and it is no hidden secret that the gaming company is working on a new device that is rumored to be more powerful than the base model. It would make sense for Sony to lower the price of the original version.

On Thursday, Sony’s State of Play livestream teased out all the company’s gaming plans for the rest of 2024.
It was mostly a letdown.
Outside of a few updates on remakes like Silent Hill 2, remasters like Until Dawn, and a PC port of God of War: Ragnarök, there were only a handful of new games to show off, the biggest of which was Firewalk Studios’ Concord, a new multiplayer shooter whose CGI-only trailer failed to show players much gameplay, leaving audiences mostly confused as to what the game really is.

At the time of writing this, Sony has just announced the PlayStation State of Play for May 2024. With the summer showcase season, just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how Sony lays out their upcoming slate for the next few years.
Add to that the fact that this is Sony’s time to really shine and show everyone why PlayStation is king. With Xbox failing to deliver the goods as of late, and a lack of first party PS5 titles confirmed, now seems like the perfect time for the PlayStation State of Play to drop.
So below, each member of the FandomWire Gaming team has made a prediction for what they expect to see during the event respectively. I will list these below followed by a bit of commentary on how likely I believe each prediction is:

Xbox had seen a drop in fans after leaks and rumors about Xbox going third-party. But in the latest Xbox Direct, Phil Spencer made it clear that Xbox is not leaving the console business. It is just branching out into the multi-platform video game publishing business as well.
This has been met with manifold angry fan reactions that flooded the gaming communities on X, Reddit, etc. A large part of that anger was however not directed at Xbox or Microsoft Gaming. Instead the apparent ‘leakers’ got most of the blame for turning the Xbox community inside out for the sake of clicks and user engagement.
Fan reactions to the Xbox Direct just went on to show, that fans are starting to come to the conclusion that no leak should be trusted until official confirmation, yet again.

And you thought you couldn’t keep up with streaming in the summer of 2021.
Over the past two years, the number of titles (movies and TV series) available across streaming services in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Germany, and Mexico has grown by about 40 percent, from roughly 1.7 million to nearly 2.4 million, according to Nielsen and Gracenote’s new “State of Play” study. The tally of titles on linear television — broadcast and cable — have actually more than doubled, though the overwhelming majority (almost 87 percent) of total unique titles reside on streaming services.
In July 2021, broadcast, cable, and streaming combined for almost 1.9 million unique titles. As of June 2023, per the new study, there were a bit more than 2.7 million across all of the major delivery systems. This has created an even greater analysis paralysis: 20 percent of respondents reported not knowing what to watch on streaming and an inability to find something...

Brad Pitt was once replaced by Gladiator star Russell Crowe in a film Pitt was passionate about. When the Seven actor abruptly left the project at the last minute, however, it led to chaos behind the scenes. So much so that Pitt almost went to court for quitting the feature.

In 1973, the killer of Welsh teenagers Sandra Newton, Pauline Flynn and Gwendoline Hughes was not caught, despite a high-profile and widespread investigation by South Wales Police. The girls’ families spent the next three decades not knowing who was responsible for brutally taking the lives of their loved ones, or whether he still lived alongside them in the local Neath and Port Talbot communities.
In 2002, a development in forensics changed everything. The cold case was reopened with much pared-down resources, and crime scene DNA was successfully used to identify Wales’ first recorded serial killer. Steeltown Murders is the story of the loss, guilt and suspicion that followed the 1970s murders, and of the perseverance of the officers who were eventually able to provide the victims’ families with the answers they’d been denied years before.
Here are the actors making up the cast behind Steeltown Murders‘ dramatisation of real-life figures and events.

Rachel McAdams had been anointed Hollywood's latest "It Girl" when she was tapped to grace the cover of Vanity Fair's 2006 Oscar issue alongside Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson. She was coming off a string of critical and commercial successes in "Mean Girls," "The Notebook," "Red Eye" and "The Family Stone," and appeared to be on the cusp of superstardom. But when McAdams learned, upon arriving at the Tom Ford photoshoot, that she was expected to pose nude, she walked, promptly fired her publicist (who'd failed to inform her of the shoot's parameters), and pressed the pause button on her film career.
Prior to the #MeToo revolution, firing up double rockets at the exploitative Hollywood movie star machine was considered career suicide. This was how women got smeared with the "difficult" label. McAdams, however, persevered and has established herself as one of the most brilliantly unpredictable actors of her generation. She's...

“Air,” which opened in wide theatrical release on Wednesday and stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker and Jason Bateman, details how a then-underdog Nike bet its footwear future on then-rookie Michael Jordan. The film dramatizes boardroom pitches and frantic business phone calls into a tale of how capitalism was pretzeled into supplying fortune and glory to members of a demographic rarely on the receiving end.
So it makes sense that the Skydance and Mandalay-produced film is the first from Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity. One of the selling points of the venture is a promise of profit participation for both above-the-line stars and below-the-line artists. The Hollywood titans dipped into their own fees, along with money saved during production via artist-driven efficiency, to create a discretionary bonus system, insiders told TheWrap.
