Biff Wiff, the beloved character actor best known for his roles in I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once, has died after his battle with cancer, his talent management company announced online.

“It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved client and actor, Biff Wiff,” Entertainment Lab wrote on Instagram. “Biff was an amazing person inside and out, and his loving energy could be felt by all. We are sending our heartfelt sympathies to his family & loved ones at this time. @biffwiff“

While Wiff’s age was not readily available, he was in his 60’s.

Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi is set to star in “Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty!,” the third feature film from writer-director Josef Kubota Wladyka. Alberto Guerra, Alejandro Edda, You and Yoh Yoshida round out the international cast of the project, which is filming in Japan.

Plot details are currently being kept under wraps, but the film is described as a fantasy dance drama set in the vibrant city of Tokyo.

Nicholas Huynh co-wrote the script with Wladyka, who is also producing alongside Kimberly Parker Zox and Mao Nagakura. James Hausler and Kenji Ito are executive producing, and Thefool, Inc. is providing production services in Japan.

One of the oddest movie marketing campaigns of all time rolls on with another unconventional announcement from Sony’s upcoming Anaconda, a project that’s all around hard to get a clear handle on. Arriving in theaters December 25, 2025, the franchise reboot is clearly taking a more comedic approach to the material, with Jack Black and Paul Rudd starring.

This latest video features Jack Black performing a Tenacious D-style song to officially announce the main cast of Anaconda, which also includes Thandiwe Newton (“Westworld”), Steve Zahn (“Silo,” Joy Ride), Brazilian actor Selton Mello, and Daniela Melchior.

HBO’s Westworld had a record viewership in its debut season before plummeting into a complete disaster over the last two seasons. The series was set at the titular futuristic theme park, where human guests indulged in their wildest fantasies without fear of retaliation from android hosts. Written and directed by Drew Hancock, this deliciously dark horror is produced by the team behind Barbarian, which should tell you something about the number of twists to expect. In fact, on that note, if you have somehow made it this far without actually knowing what Companion is about, then you should definitely stop reading now and go in as cold as you can, for maximum enjoyment.

Still here? Okay then, but be warned that the main twist occurs around 24 minutes into the movie and is essentially the basis of the plot from that point on. It’s clear that the filmmakers intended that reveal to be a surprise to the audience, but clearly the marketing department had other ideas, much like the publicity for Terminator 2: Judgement Day completely...

AMC Networks has revealed the official trailer and key art for Dark Winds Season 3, which will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, March 9 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt. The first two seasons of the critically lauded series have perfect 100-point scores on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now, “Didn’t Die” is debuting on Tuesday night in Sundance’s Midnight section.

“It was a spontaneous act of creation in the middle of directing a million different TV episodes that are my bread and butter these days,” she says. “I had a moment to breathe because I had the baby that’s in the film. I decided to just make something with my friends again, and it was a movie that was made so much in collaboration with the cast.”

Jeffrey Wright credits his “Highest 2 Lowest” director Spike Lee for encouraging a career “high” of his own: making his directorial debut.

Wright told Men’s Health that Lee inspired him to direct his first project, which will be shot in 2026. It’s unclear whether the yet-to-be-announced project is a film or a series, but it will be Wright’s first time behind the camera regardless.

Evan Rachel Wood has released a statement following the decision by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office to not level sexual abuse charges on Marilyn Manson, citing statute of limitations.

The three-time Emmy nominee said she is “grateful” for authorities’ four-year investigation into the matter and “endlessly proud” of the more than dozen survivors who have spoken up, adding that the case’s resolution is “evidence” that “violent crimes should not have an expiration date.”

“My lawyer and I were advised by the Deputy District Attorneys and the Sheriff deputies who investigated the case that there was compelling evidence to support our claims, but that the statute of limitations prevents many of those crimes from being prosecuted,” Wood wrote on her private Instagram, per People. “We always knew that the statute of limitations would be a barrier, which is why we created the Phoenix Act so that other victims...

“Silo” Season 2 came to a fiery end last week — delivering a finale designed to leave viewers with plenty of questions about the Apple TV+ sci-fi drama’s next steps and the fates of both Bernard (Tim Robbins) and Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson). The series has already been renewed for a third season, as well as a fourth that is being billed as its last, which means fans will get to see its latest mysteries resolved eventually. When that will be is unclear, as Apple has yet to announce a return date for “Silo.”

Gabriel Basso will pick up the action, starring as Peter, and Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose. Though the couple ended their relationship at the end of Season 1, when Rose hears Peter is in trouble, she jumps at the opportunity to rekindle their relationship.

Because this season follows Peter on a new mission, several members of the original cast will not be back for Season 2, though, including Hong Chau and Robert Patrick.

Variety has learned exclusively that Patton Oswalt, Brian Baumgartner, and Enrico Colantoni are all set to appear in the first season of the NBC legal drama. All three will play a version of themselves.

The trio join previously announced guest stars like Maggie Grace, Matt Letscher, Sofia Pernas, and Carson A. Egan. The main cast of “Suits LA” includes Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. It was also reported that “Suits” star Gabriel Macht will appear in a multi-episode arc of “Suits LA” as well.

The roles mark returns to NBC for Oswalt, Baumgartner, and Colantoni, as all three have previously starred in NBC comedies — “AP Bio” for Oswalt, “The Office” for Baumgartner, and “Just Shoot Me” for Colantoni.

Four more stars have joined the cast of the upcoming Anaconda reboot movie!

Back in August 2024, it was revealed that a comedic re-imagining of the 1997 horror movie was in the works from Columbia Pictures with Tom Gormican directing and collaborating on the script.

Now on Friday (January 17), it was announced that Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn have signed on to star in the new movie.

Thandiwe Newton, who starred in HBO’s acclaimed Westworld, and Silo actor Steve Zahn have been swallowed up by Anaconda, Columbia’s comedic reimagining of the 1997 horror movie that launched a mini-franchise.

Selton Mello, who appears in Brazilian awards season hopeful I’m Still Here, and Ione Sky have also joined the feature that stars by Paul Rudd and Jack Black. Mello will be making his English-language debut with the action comedy.

Tom Gormican, who directed the Nicolas Cage meta movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, is co-writing with collaborator Kevin Etten and will direct the feature.

The original movie starred Jennifer Lopez, Owen Wilson, Ice Cube and Jon Voight, and followed a National Geographic film crew hunting for the world’s largest and deadliest snake, only to find the tables turned.

The new story, according to sources, involves a group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth.

Writer and Director Lowell Dean (WolfCop) is entering the ring later this month with new horror movie Dark Match, centered around a wrestling company. Shudder has released the official trailer that features wrestling superstar Chris Jericho (Terrifier 2).

Dark Match releases exclusively on Shudder on January 31, 2025.

During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.

The second season will consist of seven episodes, and while we don't have an exact premiere date just yet, we'd imagine the series returns sometime in mid-April, in the same release window Game of Thrones used to occupy during its run.

Season two will pick up five years after the events of season one, which concluded with Joel (Pedro Pascal) going on a rampage to rescue an unconcious Ellie (Belly Ramsey) from the Fireflies and then, in an effort to protect her, covering up the truth by telling her that making a cure was impossible and that raiders had raided the facility and forced them to flee.

It’s going to be a hell of a spring for Joel and Ellie: The Last of Us will return for its second season in April, co-creator Neil Druckmann announced Monday during Sony’s press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show.

Fans also got a meaty sneak peek at Season 2 of HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama via a minute-long teaser that’s sure to raise a few… alarms. (Don’t worry, you’ll get it when you watch it.)

Per the official synopsis, Season 2 will begin with a time jump: “Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.”

The previous Season 2 teaser was released back on Sept. 26, which is both the birthday of Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and the day that the Cordyceps infection really started messing with/nearly wiping out humanity.

HBO also recently released three images created by artist Greg Ruth in celebration of the show’s seminal date. You can see them below.

In August, HBO released the first footage from the show’s sophomore run via a Max promo. In it, Joel made an expected confession — to an unexpected character: Season 2 newbie Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek). She presumably wondered about Ellie, asking Joel, “Did you hurt her?” His response: “I saved her.” Fans of the franchise will recognize this as a deviation from the original story. In the video game, Joel delivers his confession to his brother Tommy (and only Tommy).

The new teaser seems to indicate more changes from the Naughty Dog video game’s storyline, including our first good look at Kaitlyn Dever (Dopesick) as Abby. We’re also intrigued by what’s going on around the :45 mark; those who know The Last of Us Part II inside and out will recognize this scene as something that is shown at the very end of that game. Given that series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have indicated that the show will likely go at least three seasons, it’s interesting that the moment is included in Season 2.

Also of note: Isaac (Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright) and a captured Seraphite, some longing looks between Ellie and Dina (100 Things to Do Before High School’s Isabella Merced), and the music at the start of the clip, which is from a series of poignant moments in Part II.

Season 1 came to an end after Joel murdered a hospital full of Firefly resistance fighters who intended to kill Ellie in order to figure out a cure for Cordyceps infection. When Ellie — who’d been anesthetized and therefore unaware of both Joel’s actions and the danger to her — came to, Joel lied and said the experiment hadn’t worked. Later, when she made him swear that he was telling the truth, he did so readily… even though he was doubling down on the lie. (Read a recap.)

In addition to Dever, Wright, Merced and O’Hara, Season 2 cast newbies include: Young Mazino (Beef), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Ariela Barer (Runaways), Tati Gabrielle (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Spencer Lord (Heartland).

Doctor Who's 2024 Christmas special, "Joy to the World," might feel familiar to those who watched Westworld, but Doctor Who brought its own ideas to a similar story. The episode marks the second Christmas special for Ncuti Gatwa, who plays Doctor Who's fifteenth Doctor. This episode is said to be writer Steven Moffat's last Doctor Who episode, after being responsible for some of the show's best moments. The Doctor Who Christmas specials are now a tradition for the rebooted series and the episode also featured Bridgerton star, Nicola Coughlan, as the titular Joy.

"Joy to the World" sees the Fifteenth Doctor investigating the rooms at the Time Hotel, where guests have been seen acting strangely while handcuffed to a strange briefcase with dangerous contents. Although each Doctor has a Companion, the Fifteenth Doctor is used to traveling alone, and the episode addresses the concept of being alone at Christmas.

"The Terminator" is one of those unimpeachable sci-fi classics that feels fundamental to the evolution of the genre. As such, it's strange to think of director James Cameron having any specific inspiration, especially considering the impetus for the 1984 movie was as personal as Cameron having a nightmare which included that now famous image of a chrome Terminator exoskeleton emerging from a fire.

Beyond that, "The Terminator" has taken on a sort of mythical aura in the history of cinema.
