In Rome, Giulio and Lucia meet again after 20 years. Being their old love very much alive, they decide to get married. The union between their two families under the same roof will bring unexpected (and amusing) consequences.

Sergio, Lucia's ex-husband, comes to Rome to say hello to her (soon to be married to Giulio) and their two daughters, but he has a much slier plan in mind: bringing the three of them back to Milan with him.

Giulio promises to have a magnificent wedding, but his plans clash with the family's limited budget. Meanwhile, the kids get to know each other better - or worse.

Giulio and Lucia finally get married. Unfortunately, Giulio messes things up when he brings her wife to the place where he mistakenly believes they first made love together. Righting this wrong will not be easy feat.

Troublemaking Rudi forges an aptitude test and manages to pass for a genius, Cesare brushes up his French in order to keep the bottiglieria's name in a prestigious tourist guide, while Gabriella steals family money - but for a good cause.

Sergio is honored with the Order of Merit for Labor and invites the whole Cesaroni family at the ceremony; Marco realizes he is falling in love with Eva.

Mimmo is tasked by his teacher with writing an essay about his late mother. The assignment turns into a chance for the Cesaroni boys to finally cope with their mother's absence.

Giulio, Cesare and Ezio engage in a challenge of practical jokes, while Marco accepts to work in a dance hall to afford a trip to London with Eva.

The war between Ezio and Stefania involves their best friends, too. Meanwhile, Marco is increasingly uncomfortable with keeping his love for Eva a secret.

Uncle Augusto comes back from the US and is welcomed gloriously by the whole family but Cesare, who seems to know something more about his brother's incredible story.

Augusto's presence in the Cesaroni's lives causes some turmoil, all while the return of Eva with her friend Beatrice from Milan clarifies Marco's feelings towards his step-sister.

Sergio is "kidnapped" by Giulio&Co. and forced to spend a day off at the lake; Augusto's Roman break comes to an end, with many lessons learned; Marco and Eva share their (unexpected) first kiss.

Ezio believes Walter might not be his son, Cesare tries to relieve Gabriella's emotional turmoil, and Marco starts to put his feelings for Eva aside.

Marco and Rachele share a passionate kiss, but at the same time Eva gets enthralled by her step-brother's poetic leanings: the two of them write the song "Un mare di guai" together (even though he has Rachele in mind).

Spring blossoms at Garbatella: Giulio struggles to find a way to teach sex to his children, all while Marco and Rachele make love together (and it's Marco's first time), much to the chagrin of Eva, who is falling in love with him.

Giulio, worried and longing for his wife, heads for Houston with Cesare and Gabriella to check up on Lucia's stay in the US; in Rome, the kids are under Ezio and Stefania's supervision. Meanwhile, Marco and Rachele's relationship reaches a dramatic turning point.

Giulio and Cesare hire a new, attractive waiter who will make it hard for Lucia's husband to remain faithful to his wife; Alice enters the school's football team to impress her crush; Eva struggles to handle her love for Marco.

Mimmo accepts a female role in the school's play, just to be able to stay close to his crush, Sara. A series of misunderstandings involving Giulio arise from this unusual choice.

Rudi tries to find out the topic of a test in advance, causing the usual series of troubles; on the other hand, the ties between Marco and Rachele are likely to end once and for all.

Lucia's new life as a housewife seems to upset the rest of the family, all while Marco and Eva are going through serious emotional turmoil - without mentioning Rudi's doubts about his own place in his circle of friends.

In exchange for a paid fine, Lucia, Gabriella and Stefania start to work at the Bottiglieria, to the chagrin of the Cesaroni brothers. Meanwhile, Eva tries everything to win Marco over.

The season finale revolves around everyone's (ever-changing) summer destination - with a special surprise in Cesare's private life.
