Still have a laugh on this episode
This is one of my favorites. Fred and Barney had a costume argument (and how devilish are they...), then Fred does a secret costume. The gang is off to a Water Buffalo masquerade party... without Fred who wants to surprise them with a spaceman costume. And at this night, a radio announcer warns about "The Way-Outs" which are invading Earth... But are just some rock stars with a gimmick... Oh the panic in the population and up to the Water Buffalo Hall...
Still laugh at the premises. Not to miss... Especially the "Way-Outs"...

The Wayouts
Who is that doing the singing for The Wayouts? I know this was supposed to be a spoof on the Beatles, but that singing is pretty good.
WE ALL LOVE THE WAY- OUTS!!!!
Most definitely a fondly remembered episode, especially if you are a 60s music groupie!
Also, a fun reminder how closely Fred and Barney were patterned after Ralph and Norton from the HONEYMOONERS. These guys are fantastic. Fred and Barney can't wait to attend the Water Buffalo masquerade party --but there's a disagreement about costumes -- so Fred has his own plans!
Naturally... just at the right moment, there's an announcement about the invasion of the WAY-OUTS!
Aliens have landed in Bedrock! Actually a publicity stunt for a wild music group, a take-off on the Beatles and the other fab 60s groups. The Way-Outs were a creation of Ted Nichols, music director for so many cartoon series, such as SPACE GHOST, SCOOBY DOO, JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS. Creativity 101.
Well written by series regular Warren Foster, who wrote a ton of BUGS BUNNY cartoons. He was the guy behind all of Bugs' super one-liners. Also note some of the voice actors, such as Allan Melvin (from the BRADY BUNCH and ALL IN THE FAMILY), playing car 7 patrolman and Don Messick, a memorable character actor, playing Bamm Bamm.
Can't get enough of this stuff. From SEASON 6 EPISODE 11.

Wayouts ~ Yea, Yea, Yea!
As I have written about other TV shows during the mid 60's, the creators of the Flintstones tapped into the craze of Beatlemania that was at an apex at this time in the world.
From the music sound to the hair styles, anyone who watched this episode knew who these 'Wayouts' were really supposed to be. The episode is a typical fun Flintstones watch, but to me it's another example of how big the Fab Four really were and that by the end of 1965 they were everywhere in our culture.
