The Phoenix Club has a Wild West theme night.
It starts fantastically well with a number of hilarious incidents at the club, one quite dark but made very funny by the characters' reactions.
Generally it is a very funny episode with several stand out moments. Virtually everything that comes out of Brian Potter's mouth is a strong punchline delivered with epic timing and great facial expressions by Peter Kay.
Dave Bramwell shows some of Jerry's quick fire one-liners during one scene.
Additionally the use of the mechanical bull and the horse creates the opportunity for some good verbal and sight gags.
As you would expect it all leads to a humorous crescendo caused by "mixing the counties" that Max and Paddy seem comically ill equipped to deal with.
As always, I appreciate that comedy is the eye of the beholder so it depends on your sense of humour as to what you will find funny.

The Captain dies, and The Club hosts a funeral service for him. Brian isn't pleased with his supplies, the snooker table, condom machine and bandit, to make amends he's loaned a bucking bronco.
The club is definitely having a few teething troubles, the acts aren't quite hitting the mark, but ...all people wanted to do at these clubs, was play bingo, anything else was just noise, that scene with the new bingo ball dispenser was very funny.
Laughs from start to finish, this marvellous show continues with a great second episode, again it's funny from start to finish, but that drunken horse, side splitting, 'get it a kebab!'
You can see why Max and Paddy got a spin off series.
9/10.
