The next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to reach theatres on February 14, 2025 – and this Captain America adventure sees Anthony Mackie’s character Sam Wilson, formerly known as Falcon, carrying the shield now that his pal Steve Rogers is retired. But he’s not the only hero who’s taking on the mantle of a fellow hero in this film. With a new Captain America comes a new Falcon, as Wilson has passed his old set of wings (as seen in the TV series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) over to United States Air Force intelligence officer Joaquín Torres, played by Danny Ramirez – and director Julius Onah told Empire that the brotherhood between Sam and Joaquín is a key emotional center in the film.
Here’s the official information on Captain America: Brave New World, straight from Marvel: Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been going through a bit of a reset in recent years. Certain projects from the franchise haven't been hitting quite as hard with audiences as their sure-fire predecessors did, and it has forced Marvel Studios to re-evaluate which titles and characters to focus on going forward.
Over the past year, there have been reports that projects such as Disney Plus series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law have been quietly cancelled by the studio, while plans have been made to bring back shows such as Hawkeye and Moon Knight for second seasons. Further reports have claimed that film projects such as Eternals, The Marvels, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have had their planned sequels cancelled due to their underperformances at the box office.

The Green Goliath has long been a cornerstone of Marvel Comics, boasting some of the most iconic and impactful storylines in the publisher’s history. The Hulk’s enduring popularity is fueled not only by his raw power but also by the psychological depth in the dynamic between Bruce Banner and his alter ego—a contrast fans have always found compelling.
Unfortunately, the MCU has struggled to capture the Hulk’s full potential. While Ed Norton’s The Incredible Hulk laid a solid foundation, the character’s evolution under Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal left many fans disappointed.
Though there were highlights, the MCU’s Hulk often felt watered down compared to the legendary iterations from the comics.
However, change may be on the horizon. Rumors have been swirling about a World War Hulk adaptation, and recent buzz hints at the possible debut of Maestro in the MCU. Could this be true?...

It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Over 30 films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Each film in the MCU stands on its own to some degree, but like building blocks, they all connect as part of one interconnected universe. And in that way, watching the Marvel movies in order tells one grand story.
There are a couple of different ways to watch the Marvel movies in order, but below we run down how to watch the MCU in chronological and release date order. Indeed, some films like “Captain Marvel” and “Captain America: The First Avenger” are full-on prequels...

Robert Downey Jr.’s Pay In This Avengers Film Was More Than Mark Ruffalo’s Franchise Earnings (Photo Credit – Instagram)
If you thought playing Hulk would bring in monster paychecks, think again! Mark Ruffalo, the man who smashed his way into The Avengers as Bruce Banner, didn’t exactly see his bank account grow as fast as his fan base. While he became an MCU staple, his earnings didn’t quite reach superhero levels—especially next to his co-star Robert Downey Jr.
Here’s the kicker: Downey pulled a jaw-dropping $75 million from Avengers: Endgame alone, a single paycheck that outshined Ruffalo’s entire career as the Hulk. Yes, you read that right! Ruffalo might’ve been throwing down in Endgame, but Downey was cashing in like no other.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe knows a thing or two about intimidating villains. The franchise has mastered the superhero movie format since it first debuted back in 2008 with Iron Man and it has continued to perfect it over the years.
Sure, there have been some misses along the way, with fans often considering a number of the antagonists in those earlier movies among the franchise's weakest. There have also been some truly fantastic Marvel Comics villains who have been let down by their respective MCU adaptations. And then there are the truly magnificent villains, the ones that have stayed on the minds of audiences in the years since their arrival: The Winter Soldier, the Vulture, Loki, and the almighty Thanos (just to name a few).
Yes, the MCU has given us all kinds of villains. Large purple aliens intent on wiping out half of the population, revenge-driven god butchers with a desire to wipe out Thor,...

Did Mark Ruffalo appreciate Irrfan Khan’s work? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Here’s a cool throwback moment you might’ve missed: Back in 2010 when Slumdog Millionaire took the world by storm, Irrfan Khan found himself dining at the same New York restaurant as no other than Avengers star Mark Ruffalo. Irrfan, a massive fan of the Hulk actor, was secretly hoping for a quick chat, but as luck would have it, nothing happened. That was until the final moments of the night when Mark spotted him, walked over, and dropped a bomb: “Hey man, I love your work.” Instant Hollywood magic.
This epic moment comes from Irrfan Khan: The Man, The Dreamer, The Star, a biography by Aseem Chhabra. It’s one of those perfect anecdotes that perfectly captures Irrfan’s global reach—he was known everywhere, even by the biggest names in Hollywood. The scene unfolded like this: Irrfan...

Captain America: Brave New World Trailer: Harrison Ford Hulks Out In Paranoid MCU Political Thriller
Now that we've reached the end of the Witches' Road with Agatha All Along, all MCU fans' attention is now set to turn towards Julius Onah's star-spangled fourquel Captain America: Brave New World. Having had one curiosity sparking teaser for Anthony Mackie's feature debut as Captain America already, as well as a couple of intriguing tidbits of info about Giancarlo Esposito's baddie Sidewinder and an eyebrow-raising adamantium connection spilled at San Diego Comic Con back in July, the hype train for the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has really been starting to build up a head of steam. Now, with the release of a brand new trailer at D23 Brazil this past weekend, anticipation for the movie has reached new heights. Check out Harrison Ford (Red) Hulking out and Mackie's Sam Wilson flying into action in the tense new trailer for the film below:

While speaking to CinePop during D23 Brazil yesterday, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige shared an update on the status of an Eternals follow-up and spoke about the possibility of characters from the Inhumans making their MCU debut.
Eternals not only had the dubious honor of being the first Marvel Studios movie to drop to "rotten" status on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, but also finishing up its U.S. run with a disappointing $164.9 million to give it the lowest domestic haul of any McU-set film aside from 2008's The Incredible Hulk ($134M).
Even so, we appeared to get confirmation that a follow-up was in the early planning stages... when Game of Thrones alum Kit Harington (who made his MCU debut as Dane Whitman in the movie) suggested that the project had been scrapped!
Not exactly a surprise, but does that mean we won't be seeing Sersi, Thena, Kingo and the others...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has brought fans some of the most popular superhero movies ever, winning over audiences worldwide. But behind the scenes, the MCU has also dealt with some bumps in the road with its actors and directors. Creative disagreements, personal clashes, and changes in the industry have sometimes led to tough decisions and saying goodbye to certain people along the way.

Joe Russo revealed to GamesRadar+ at McM Comic Con 2024 that Marvel approached the Russo Brothers and Robert Downey Jr. to return for another “Avengers” movie of their record-breaking “Avengers: Infinity War” when the trio was already in discussions with each other for another project. It was announced at Comic-Con in July that Anthony and Joe Russo are directing two new Marvel movies, “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” the former of which will introduce Downey as the MCU’s Doctor Doom.
“We’re all very close,” Joe said about the brothers relationship with Downey. “We had been working on another project before Marvel approached all of us – so we’re working on another project with Robert – and there was a story that evolved through conversations [with Marvel] that we got very excited about. Sony Pictures billed “Venom: The Last Dance” as the final chapter in Tom Hardy’s alien-symbiote-buddy-comedy franchise. But with its $51 million domestic opening weekend — 44% and 55% lower than the previous two installments — the movie also signifies the continued twilight of superhero cinema as the dominant force at the box office.
Superhero movies used to be an indispensable revenue driver for the film industry. In 2018 and 2019, the average global gross for superhero fare was more than $1 billion. This year, it’s half that, even with the record-breaking success of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” In fact, the Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman vehicle is the only comic book movie that could qualify as a hit since “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” debuted in June 2023. Since then, the genre has suffered an extraordinary box office drought. Film after film, from “The Flash” to “The Marvels” to “Madame Web,” opened to, at best, a shrug — and, at worst,...

Wolverine is one of the most popular Marvel characters and one of the most popular mutants. His origin story and powers are well known and it’s quite clear that he exhibits some animalistic traits which obviously translated to his name, overall look, and skillset.
While his status as a mutant these days is uncontested, it wasn’t always so as originally Wolverine was supposed to be something entirely different.
Originally, Wolverine was not intended to be a mutant. When he first appeared in ‘Incredible Hulk’ #181 (1974), co-created by Len Wein, Roy Thomas, and John Romita Sr., he was introduced as a character without a defined mutant identity.
In this debut issue, the Canadian government referred to him as “Weapon X,” which was merely a codename for him at the time.

Jeri Taylor, the Emmy-nominated scribe, producer, director and showrunner behind Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager (which she co-created), has died. She was 86.
“My mother succeeded in a male-dominated industry,” her son Andrew Enberg said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, “but she did it without being super aggressive. She did it with compassion and kindness. She was like a den mother to everyone.”
The industry veteran died Oct. 24 of natural causes at an assisted living facility in Davis, Calif., Enberg said.
Throughout her decades-long career, Taylor spent more than ten years bringing to life episodes set within the Star Trek universe. In 1990, she began writing for Next Generation Season 4, eventually working her way up to co-executive producer in Season 6. She was the showrunner of the Patrick Stewart vehicle in its seventh and final installment, for which she garnered an Emmy nom for Outstanding Drama Series.

The key to the surprising success of the “Venom” trilogy, other than the existence of a trilogy of Venom movies without the involvement of Spider-Man, is the star Tom Hardy. More specifically, Hardy’s love for this iteration of Eddie Brock and the kooky odd couple sensibility Brock shares with the symbiote.
The relationship consequently gives rise to the majority of the film’s humor as well as the textual reading of the two aspects within Venom co-existing as a form of married couple. One of the reasons why the second film worked so well is because it updated that kooky humor from the first film and made the entire movie revolve around that central relationship. As a film viewer completely inundated by corporate superhero fare consisting of CGI sludges, it’s not to say that Venom sheds the entire baggage. But there is a heartfelt sincerity and love for...

The 90s and 2000s featured some of the most memorable cartoons that are the epicenter of nostalgia for an entire generation. Everyone that grew up during these years has their own memories of avidly watching and being a fan of some kind of cartoon, whether it would be during a certain time of the week, with a certain snack, or at some friend’s house. Some were put on as mere escapes to enjoy on a Friday afternoon after school or on a Saturday morning while others would be committed to and followed with each new episode. Many cartoons from the 90s and the 2000s not only have that special nostalgic element for an entire generation, but they are also just great shows to watch that were way ahead of their time and still hold up today. They both fulfilled their purpose as after-school escapes and provided entertaining stories that kids,...

The Incredible Hulk is a horror character in a superhero world; like Henry Jekyll or Larry Talbot if their alter egos resembled Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's Monster. Ever wonder why Bruce Banner has more alternate Hulk personas than he does memorable external villains? It's because his greatest battle will always be an internal one.
The 50-issue "Immortal Hulk" by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett was one of the defining Marvel comics of the 2010s, in part because it embraced the character the Hulk is meant to be. Ewing added fantastical layers to the jade giant, revealing Dr. Banner had not simply been mutated by the Gamma bomb explosion where the Hulk was born; the bomb opened a "Green Door" to the underworld.
There are two ongoing Marvel comics right now that could be called "Immortal Hulk" sequels. One is Ewing's "Immortal Thor," which features overlapping themes and villains (without...

It's been a rocky (no pun intended) couple of years for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. First, Black Adam bombed, derailing his hopes to take charge of the Dceu alongside Seven Bucks Productions. He later returned to WWE but faced the wrath of fans when he tried to take Cody Rhodes' place in the WrestleMania main event.
The trades have also questioned whether Johnson is still a box office draw, with at least one making some wild claims about his alleged habit of peeing in water bottles on set.
Now, though, WWE's "Final Boss" has taken to social media to tease a mysterious project he's working on alongside Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams and The Incredible Hulk writer Zak Penn.
"Years in the making - we finally broke bread, we drank, we laughed, got a lil' drunk (maybe that was just me) we talked life stuff, love stuff,...

"Deadpool & Wolverine" was one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer, and could have been the biggest if it wasn't for Joy and Anxiety and all of those irresistible emotions from "Inside Out 2" becoming the biggest animated movie of all time and sitting in the #1 spot on the 2024 box office charts. But if Wade Wilson and Logan are your favorite mutants, then this new collection of apparel and accessories should grab your attention.
Heroes & Villains, the purveyors of stylish pop culture-inspired clothing and gear, are releasing a new Weapon X collection that's inspired by Wolverine and Deadpool. More specifically, it's centered on the characters being part of the experimental program that turned them both into deadly mutants. Weapon X was first mentioned in "The Incredible Hulk" #180 back in 1974, the same issue where Wolverine debuts (which got a nod in "Deadpool & Wolverine), and it would become even more...

Spoilers ahead: Don't even think of traveling down this Witches' Road if you haven't watched the latest episode of "Agatha All Along."
If general audiences had a certain amount of skepticism about "Agatha All Along" coming in, nobody could blame them. On paper, a spin-off series to a main show that was itself a spin-off of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe movies doesn't exactly inspire much in the way of confidence -- or originality, at that. But it's a testament to showrunner Jac Schaeffer and her writing team that, in reality, the tale of a coven of mismatched witches hoping to gain ultimate power along the Witches' Road has turned out to be as fun and entertaining as it has so far. Where "WandaVision" mostly only hinted at the supernatural happenings taking place within the confines of Wanda Maximoff's (Elizabeth Olsen) hex, this new adventure has been able to embrace...

The Incredible Hulk, released in 2008 alongside Iron Man, was the second film in what would eventually become the MCU. However, it doesn’t quite hold the same prestige as other MCU films, making it one of the more contentious entries in the franchise.
Several factors contribute to this perception. While the MCU is gradually revisiting and reevaluating the film’s place within its current canon, the most significant issue—the proverbial “elephant in the room”—is the recasting of the Hulk.
Mark Ruffalo took over Edward Norton’s role, this marks the most notable recasting of a major character in the MCU. It’s also the only time a hero has been replaced.
Although this change led to various shifts, Marvel’s approach to the Hulk within the generally family-friendly framework has resulted in numerous challenges. Some are related to the character and others are tied to production issues. In this article,...

The Incredible Hulk, the second film in what would eventually become the MCU, was released in 2008, concurrently with Iron Man. However, because it doesn’t exactly have the same prestige as the other MCU films, it is also one of the more contentious films in the franchise.
There are many reasons for this, but even though the MCU is gradually revisiting the film and reevaluating its value in the current MCU canon, the largest issue with it—the proverbial “elephant in the room”—is that Mark Ruffalo took Edward Norton’s role as the Hulk.
This is the largest recasting of a major character in the MCU to date, and it marks the only instance in which a hero has actually been recast.

Marvel Studios' decision to introduce Israeli superhero Sabra in Captain America: Brave New World was met with a fair amount of backlash when Shira Hass' casting was first announced, and the controversy was reignited after the release of the first trailer back in July.
In the comics, Sabra, aka Ruth Bat-Seraph, is a mutant with superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, endurance, and stamina. She first appeared in the pages of The Incredible Hulk back in 1980 as a Mossad (the Israeli Secret Service) agent.
Marvel later revealed that this part of her origin will be altered, and the character will be reimagined as a former Black Widow. The Wrap followed up by claiming that Sabra (this name will likely be dropped) will speak "with an Israeli accent, and is an Israeli former Black Widow who now serves as a high-ranking U.S. government official in President Ross’ (Harrison Ford) administration."

The Incredible Hulk was released in 2008, around the same time as Iron Man, and was the second film in what would eventually become the MCU. However, it remains one of the MCU’s most controversial entries, largely because it doesn’t hold the same iconic status as other MCU films.
There are several reasons for this, but the most significant issue is the major recasting of the Hulk. Edward Norton, who originally played the character, was replaced by Mark Ruffalo in the MCU’s biggest recast to date, marking the only time a major hero has been recast in the franchise.
While Ruffalo has done well in the role and is set for more screen time, a rumor from reliable insider DanielRPK suggests the MCU may be preparing for a post-Hulk era—or at least a time with two Hulks in the main MCU.

Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk became the definitive one for the MCU due to the actor’s incredible performance as Dr. Bruce Banner. The actor replaced Edward Norton after the Fight Club star was found to have meddled too much with the film that Marvel wanted to make in The Incredible Hulk. Starting with The Avengers, Ruffalo has been a franchise regular.

However, since the 2012 film, the character of Banner, as well as the CGI, has gone down in quality. Many have criticized the comedic treatment of the green rage monster in films like Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, while the Hulk’s CGI in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Endgame has been considered to be a massive downgrade.

Attention: The Following Report Is A Rumor. Please Take The Following Story With A Grain Of Salt.
Ever since 1999, Universal Studios Orlando has been the home of Marvel’s Super Hero Island, an area in the Islands of Adventure park themed after the world of Marvel Comics. Universal and Marvel partnered to feature several Marvel characters at the park following a failed deal with Warner Bros. to include the DC Comics characters.
The area has multiple themed attractions based on franchises like The Amazing Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, The Uncanny X-Men, and The Fantastic Four. Multiple costumed heroes also prowl around the area, greeting guests in comic book-accurate costumes straight out of the 1990s.
Why would Universal want to remove Marvel Super Hero Island?
When Disney acquired Marvel in 2009, the future of Marvel at Universal was called into question. Universal’s contract with Marvel was basically forever as long as they paid an annual fee.

“Decolonize yourself. Do your own white supremacy dismantling, and then you can start to bring in other people,” declares Regina Jackson at a Race2Dinner in Atlanta, part of an ongoing series she co-founded with Saira Rao designed to help white women confront their own racism, white supremacy and xenophobia. Before anyone can respond, the waiter proposes a toast, instructing guests to “raise a glass if you’re racist.” They all oblige — although Jackson, who is Black, quickly puts her glass down and laughs. “Oh, I’m not racist,” she says.
The seemingly klutzy caterer has been interrupting the group all night long, dropping dishes and even pulling up a seat to explain that he’s got his Dei (diversity, equity and inclusion) certificate. Many of the guests appear confused and perplexed by his odd behavior. “I’m just on the journey,” he says.

The Multiverse Saga is Marvel's current focus, as the franchise continues to highlight the ever-growing world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's not just one world anymore, as there are countless out there, highlighted in projects such as Deadpool and Wolverine, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, What If...?, Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and The Marvels.
Although more multiversal heroes are expected to appear after the saga concludes (Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool are expected to stick around), the ongoing story of the Multiverse Saga is indeed expected to bow out in the same way that its predecessor (the Infinity Saga) did; with two giant-sized Avengers movies. Yep, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars will end that era, but they will also kick off another new one entirely.

The 1975 TV series "Wonder Woman" is deeply beloved by dutiful Gen-Xers who watched it as children. The show's combination of silly action, funky music, and campy humor hit a sweet spot, presenting the title heroine as bold, strong, and capable, but also upbeat, happy, and capable of whimsy. Also, because lead actress Lynda Carter is so dazzling, many Gen-Xers may confess to having a crush on Wonder Woman at some point. The series was a hit, lasting 59 episodes over three seasons. Along with 1952's "The Adventures of Superman," 1966's "Batman," and 1978's "The Incredible Hulk," "Wonder Woman" was, for many decades, one of the most celebrated superhero TV shows ever made.
"Wonder Woman" began its life as a 1974 pilot starring Cathy Lee Crosby, as a reimagined version of the character. That pilot didn't fly, but ABC was eager to do something successful with the character and launched a second pilot...

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings its Multiverse Saga towards its conclusion, anticipation has once again increased as fans prepare for what the Marvel Studios franchise will throw their way next. We know that Marvel's original star, Robert Downey Jr., will be back for both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, but he won't be bringing Tony Stark back with him. No, he's the saga's new big villain Doctor Doom.
That doesn't mean we won't see some other original Avengers make a comeback to the franchise. Chris Evans has already blessed us with a cameo as Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, but he's also rumored to make a comeback in his MCU role of Captain America. But that's before the Multiverse Saga concludes.
A new report has revealed that two more original Avengers will be making a return after the saga concludes and that they will be playing a...

Marvel Comics feature an incredible array of characters, making it difficult to rank them by popularity or any other measure. To get meaningful results, you’d need a large sample of fans to weigh in.
One of the best sources for this is Ranker, a site that consistently collects fan votes on topics related to comics and fiction. With over a million votes on their list of superheroes, Ranker offers a strong insight into which Marvel heroes truly stand out. Let’s take a look at the results.
10. Scarlet Witch
Even before the MCU, Scarlet Witch was already one of the most popular superheroes, though her role in comic history hasn’t always been on the right side. She has it all: a complex backstory, immense power, emotional depth, and a key role in iconic storylines like House of M. It’s no surprise Wanda ranks so highly.

In the pages of his terrifying Incredible Hulk run last year, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson introduced Sergeant Sal Romero, a.k.a Ghost Rider '44, a Spirit of Vengeance who raised hell on the battlefields during World War II.
This December, his epic backstory will be told in the pages of Hellhunters, a five-issue limited series written by Kennedy Johnson with art by Adam Gorham (Immortal Hulk).
In the present day, Ghost Rider '44 can only reawaken "when the monsters come." During WWII, there were plenty of them - including Felix Bruckner, a Nazi officer who underwent a mysterious transformation of his own. When Bruckner’s demonic army begins its march, Sal will be forced to embrace his supernatural new gifts to turn the tide of the entire war.

Bushore, who had been with the studio for 15 years, was most recently vp, franchise creative & immersive development for Marvel and leaves on a career high.
He directed and executive produced the What If …? — An Immersive Story experience, a team-up between Marvel and Ilm for Apple Vision Pro that was awarded a Creative Arts Emmy last weekend in the outstanding innovation in emerging media programming category. And the project exhibited at the Venice International Film Festival in the “Best of Experiences” Immersive section, where it was Marvel’s first trip to the festival and one of 10 immersive projects selected globally.
“Being invited to Venice was mind-blowing,” Bushore tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Being there and seeing the embracing of this new type of content, and the people coming through doing the experience, filmmakers and ambassadors, that was a really cool thing.

Along the way, Nelson has also gone behind the camera, directing film versions of his plays Eye of God (1997) and The Grey Zone (2001), adapting Shakespeare’s Othello, setting it in a modern-day high school with O (2001), and shooting two of his original screenplays: Kansas (1998) and Leaves of Grass (2009).
