One of the problems with this film is its immense complexity renders the viewer a mere piece of driftwood to be tossed violently upon the ocean of art. When the hero cries out, "I prefer cats", one can't help but be thrust back to what Camus called the essential question. And that, dear viewer, is the dilemma, can we live with the question of existence at the forefront of our mind, or can we only live if that question is repressed to the sub-conscious. Can man find refuge in the tranquility of a companion animal, or is it the shark that lurks beneath the subconscious. This film raises questions that will prod and disturb the viewer. It is not for everyone, in fact it may not be your cup of tea at all. Watch with caution.
