One of the best movies I have ever seen. Although hip hop culture has been an ever-growing presence in film, Street Ballers manages to incorporate a tremendous amount of material that sets it apart and far above. This movie is a MUST SEE. The language is rough at times and it gets very graphic at times, but the ride is worth it.
This movie really makes you think about the ways cultures clash in many places still. It brings in alcohol, drugs, guns and how they surround the game of basketball, as well as providing a true underdog story.
The dialogue is written to take the viewer on an emotional journey, from completely disturbing to touched. The soundtrack to the movie is also very unique and provides an excellent backdrop. This movie brings in elements from American History X, Mob Movies, Space Jam and Coach Carter. Everything is entwined in such depth that it is impossible to not appreciate. It is a true masterpiece.
