Very touching and illuminating look into some very special women of the Navajo nation. It is a beautiful thing to see this new generation balance their ancestral values and culture with a dominant pop culture that includes laptops, mobile phones and the ubiquitous video camera. The Navajo language is beautiful the listen to. It is a shame that those who took so much from these people could not even see fit to leave their language alone. It is my hope all of the indigenous people of the world rise up in the 21st Century to reclaim their birthrights. This is not a slick film, but the subject matter does not call for slick movie-making. The women tell their stories in subtle and profound ways. The viewer can sense the tension they live when trying to reconcile their own identity in a dominant society that tells them to be someone else.
