Trapped on a hostile planet
Dune in someone else's words.
This anime was thematically very similar to Dune and pretty good, perhaps for that reason. I'm not one for writing any sort of review, but this little gem deserves some attention. Director Hiroshi Nishikiori brought to life a fairly intense, large world and Natsumi Itsuki (writer/artist) populated it with characters with realistic motivations and complex needs. There was the occasional time where I questioned someone's motivation and didn't get a proper answer, but such is to be expected when browsing netflix for interesting unknowns. My only other reasonably-sized complaint has to do with the slow start of the series. It takes a few episodes before the plot really gets going, which is a bit of a problem when the series is only 11 episodes long. If you have 4 hours to kill, this one is worth the time investment. I sincerely hope that Natsumi Itsuki and Hiroshi Nishikiori will offer us more like this in the coming years.

A fantastic anime, with a beautiful story full of action, comedy, drama and love.
As I was born in the late 90's this is one of the animes I grew up with, and its my personal favorite no questions. The series revolves around a boy name Thor who has to become the "Top" on a prison planet. It is packed with action, romance, some comedy and a baffling story. The "universe" is described in a beautiful way, and you understand everything after the last episode.
In terms of art style, you can clearly see that it is influenced by its manga, with precise and sharp drawings. It is so beautiful and only 11 episodes long, this is one for the weekend.
I rate this 10/10, and have no problem saying that this is up there with full metal alchemist. Its a gem, and I advise you to see it.

Hidden gem
I don't know anybody else who is heard of this anime, at least, anyone I have asked. But it is absolutely one of my favorites. The kids voices are kind of irritating at first, which is the only reason I give it a 9 rather than 10.. plus I'm a realist when it comes to ratings and not one of those jackasses( which there are far too many of) who feel compelled to give something a 1/10 just because they don't like it (grow up, it was made for entertainment, don't take it so damn personally.. just because you didn't like it doesn't mean it is crap- have you ever heard of this thing called opinion??) or a 10/10 because I like it..90% of movies and shows on here don't have an accurate rating, because of the prevalence of these stupid, childish people . Haven't been able to find it anywhere, for years, but just dropped 18 on Amazon for the entire series.. which is only one season.. worth it.
