BBC Three gets a terrible rep for producing duff sitcoms and crude teen trash. In some cases, quite rightly. However, if we're going to berate the channel for its worst moments, we should also take the time to salute its best. And tonight's one-off documentary Growing Up Down's is BBC Three at its very best.
The documentary follows the story of the Blue Apple Theatre group as they prepare for a nationwide tour of Hamlet. Every actor in the group has a disability and most of them have Down's Syndrome. There is tension, there are romances and there is fighting - standard fare for any touring theatre company or close group of friends - but Growing Up captures the whole thing with raw intimacy and honesty.
The star of the group is Tommy, who eagle-eyed telly fans may recognise from roles in Doctors, Holby and the drama Coming Down the Mountain.

The UK may be struggling to keep up with the rest of the world in the arena of football, but we’re at least producing some top quality actors. Here’s Matthew’s pick of upcoming talent…
In a review I read for the BBC film, Dive, it stated, "It is lucky that, at a time when we are failing miserably to produce young footballers, we are producing such wonderful young actors." I'm not exactly sure why one would make up for the other, but I agree with the assertion. We have some great young actors and our young footballers are rubbish. For me, that's the best way round, though.
Here's a list of ten young British actors whom I expect to be making big moves in the world of entertainment in the near future, if they aren't already. The list is based on some completely subjective criteria such as talent,...

Now, among these young actors, who should win the award? tMF's choice and a list of possible considerations after the jump!
As you may noticed, the names are arranged in alphabetical order, so I'm going to follow the same in my discussion:
Jesse Eisenberg, who first came into prominence via Roger Dodger and The Squid and the Whale, recently starred in Zombieland with Woody Harrelson. He also did Adventureland with fellow nominee Kristen Stewart. Both of his performances in these movies were alright,...
