Final Fantasy: Xiv has officially launched its newest Alliance Raid with the 7.1 Crossroads update. Echoes of Vana'diel is the first section of Dawntrail's Alliance Raid, in which players enter into three groups of eight players. However, before entering the newest raid's first tier, players must complete a few quests to unlock their ability to queue for it.
Echoes of Vana'diel is particularly exciting for many players because it finally crosses over Ffxiv with the first Mmorpg in the Final Fantasy series: Ffxi. If you're ready to explore a new area that might have a touch of nostalgia to it depending on if you played Ffxi, you first need to be Level 100 on any Disciple of War or Magic class, complete the Dawntrail Msq, and have an item level of 695 to enter the raid. Once you meet these conditions, it's time to head to Tuliyollal.

First announced back in May, Feardemic’s voting for the Horror Game Awards is now open for you, the fans, to decide the best of 2022’s crop of horror video games. It’s up to you to decide who receives Golden Bats in each of the 13 categories between all of your favorite games.
The Horror Game Awards are part of Feardemic’s horror extravaganza, Fear Fest, which is being run in partnership with IGN, and will take place on September 6th & 7th. The event will showcase the most anticipated horror games coming your way for the latter half of 2023 and into 2024, plus “a ton of indie horror” from indie publishers.
The next night will see Feardemic and IGN present the Horror Game Awards, celebrating the best horror games of 2022, and honoring the developers who made them. That does not, however, mean that you have months to cast your votes, because...

Plot: Spanning multiple decades and told across interweaving timelines, the series examines the nature of justice, humanity and the choices we make that ultimately define our lives and legacy.
Review: Legal thrillers and series about law enforcement are staples of the small screen and rarely get the chance to play with the conventions of the genre. The new limited series Class of ’09 tries to upend expectations by using now-familiar narrative devices like flashbacks and flash-forwards to give us a series set in three distinct eras. Following a group of FBI agents in 2009, 2023, and 2034, we can see how these individuals change and grow closer and apart over four decades. Class of ’09 also uses the divisive concept of artificial intelligence to tell a prescient story that is not quite as thrilling as it should be. Anchored by another standout performance from Brian Tyree Henry, Class of ’09 is intriguing but uneven.

Neil Gaiman spent years (and years!) trying to bring his beloved comic book series "The Sandman" to life on screen, for much of that time as a movie, which consistently kept falling apart at every turn. But that dream was finally realized thanks to Netflix this summer as the heralded comic was adapted as a big-budget TV series, one that drew a huge audience for the streaming service. So, one might wonder, what is going on with a potential second season? Why hasn't anything been announced yet?
The man himself recently addressed that very question on Twitter, with Gaiman addressing fans who are begging Netflix to make an announcement. Gaiman, keeping it classy, decided to give us a peek behind the curtain, explaining that the company is only just now starting to put together the data and crunch the numbers to see if "The Sandman" season 2 would make business sense.

With movie theaters fully back up and running, HBO Max no longer has any major film releases to point to with its list of new releases for May 2022. That’s alright though as the streamer is leaning into the HBO side of its branding to offer up some fun TV releases.
The biggest HBO Max original this month is undoubtedly the return of Hacks on May 12. The first season of this comedy starred Jean Smart as a venerated Vegas comedy and Hannah Einbinder as her new millennial assistant. The first batch of episodes was excellent and even won an Emmy or two for its troubles and now season 2 will look to keep up the good vibes.
Premiering on May 15, is The Time Traveler’s Wife. This series adaptation of the 2003 novel (which in turn became a a 2009 movie) keeps up with two star-crossed lovers who can never quite make the timing work…...

Now available from Madison Gate Records comes Morbius Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Music by Jon Ekstrand from the latest blockbuster Marvel/Sony superhero film.
The soundtrack features 23 tracks by Ekstrand, who researched sounds that bats make and pushed his orchestra to replicate those sounds using instruments throughout the score.
Also due to the vampiric nature of the infamous Marvel antihero, the Swedish composer was also inspired by classic horror scores by the likes of John Carpenter, leaning in to the character’s monstrous nature rather than creating your expected superhero score.
Directed by Ekstrand’s longtime collaborator Daniel Espinosa, Morbius follows one of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters with Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforming into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble.

Apple has greenlit the pyschological thriller series “Constellations” with Noomi Rapace and Jonathan Banks attached to star, Variety has learned.
In “Constellation,” Rapace stars as Jo, a woman who returns to Earth after a disaster in space only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The series is further described as a space adventure, an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and for her to recover all that she has lost.
Apple has given the show an eight episode order. Peter Harness serves as writer and executive producer on the series under his Haunted Barn Ltd. banner. Michelle MacLaren will direct the first two episodes and executive produce. MacLaren is also directing the upcoming Apple series “Shining Girls” and has also directed an episode of “The Morning Show.

Composer Jon Ekstrand and director Daniel Espinosa go way back. They went to film school together, where they collaborated, partied, and bonded over movies. After years of collaborating on movies such as "Snabba Cash," "Child 44," and "Life," they've now teamed up for their first comic book movie, "Morbius." According to Ekstrand, they approached the music with horror, not capes, in mind.
The two constantly referenced the movies and electronic music they obsessed over back in film school, where Ekstrand studied to become a sound designer, not a composer. They often talked "The Terminator" and John Carpenter films, who was, from the...

Despite staring down a two-plus-year pandemic, the very real possibility of Wwiii, and the Great State of Texas’s bullshit attempts to roll back the rights of women and the LGBTQ community to the dark ages, Rolling Stone has made it to South by Southwest.
And we’re damn glad to be here.
After the past two editions were scrapped or moved online due to the Covid-19 health crisis, the very fact that SXSW 2022 — and specifically its music-festival component — is happening in Austin, in clubs, and in person is reason to celebrate.

If you’re a person of a certain age, you probably remember the release of the Nintendo Entertainmen System, aka the Nes. More so than the Atari or any other video game console of that era, the Nes was the most revolutionary thing to happen to kids…ever. Or at least that’s what it felt like. And that feeling is all over the trailer for the new Christmas film, “8-Bit Christmas.”

A new trailer for Sony Pictures’ “Morbius,” starring Jared Leto as a comic book hero with a form of vampirism, has arrived. The movie was twice delayed by the pandemic after originally being set to come out in July of last year before finally settling on a January 28, 2022 release. Check out the new look at the movie below.
“Morbius” is based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name by Roy Thomas. In the comics, Leto’s Michael Morbius is a scientist suffering from a rare blood disease whose attempts to find a cure result in him acquiring the powers of a vampire. The supporting cast includes Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. “Morbius” is the latest directorial effort from Daniel Espinoza, who last directed Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds in the space thriller “Life.” He also directed “Child 44” and “Safe House.”

The controversial and contentious experiment where Warner Bros. has debuted its 2021 slate of feature films on HBO Max will hit a crescendo in October thanks to the releases of “The Many Saints of Newark” and “Dune” on the streaming platform. Both “Many Saints” producer and co-writer David Chase and “Dune” filmmaker Denis Villeneuve have criticized the corporate decision to release films day-and-date in theaters and via HBO Max, but despite the outcry, the two highly anticipated features lead a massive lineup of acclaimed library movie titles and Emmy Award-winning original series coming to the network in October 2021. Highlights include:
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” (October): Larry David’s Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 11th season in October and will tackle the coronavirus pandemic in a way that feels organic to the show and its protagonist. “We figured out a way that we are definitely living in a reality where the pandemic has happened,...

Eleven-year-old rock prodigy Nandi Bushell has released a new cover of Arctic Monkeys’ breakout hit “I Bet You Look Good On the Dance Floor,” featuring the band’s actual drummer Matt Helders.
Bushell, who’s best known as a hotshot drummer, steps out from behind the kit to play guitar during the performance, doing well to pick out the song’s high-wire riffs at speed with Helders’ drumming. The clip also opens with a clever nod to Arctic Monkeys lore, with Bushell asking Helders, “Believe the hype, or don’t believe the hype?...

Every narrative needs a good villain; be it the philosophical human versus themself, nature, society literary tropes, or the mustache-twirling ne'er-do-wells of Saturday morning cartoon shows, there can be no plot without a figure or entity driving some kind of conflict.

New Delhi, June 16 (Ians) In the context of public discourse regarding detection of new variants, Niti Aayog Member (Health) V.K. Paul has reminded that the newly detected 'Delta Plus' variant is not yet classified as a Variant of Concern (Voc).
The variant was observed in Europe in March and has been notified and brought into public domain on June 13 this month.
As 'Delta Plus' is not yet classified as a Voc, Paul said, the way forward is to watch the potential presence of 'Delta Plus' in the country and take the appropriate public health response.
"The present status is that yes, a new variant has been found. This is as of now a Variant of Interest (VoI), not as yet classified a VoC," Paul clarified it in a Covid-19 media briefing.

Netflix and Universal Pictures have debuted a new trailer for Paul Greengrass feature ‘News of The World’ ahead of its February 10th premiere on the streamer.
Five years after the end of the Civil War, Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd (Hanks), a veteran of three wars, now moves from town to town as a non-fiction storyteller, sharing the news of presidents and queens, glorious feuds, devastating catastrophes, and gripping adventures from the far reaches of the globe.
In the plains of Texas, he crosses paths with Johanna, a 10-year-old taken in by the Kiowa people six years earlier and raised as one of their own. Johanna, hostile to a world she’s never experienced, is being returned to her biological aunt and uncle against her will.

A filmmaker has the ability to redefine a genre, but the reverse is true as well. If you’re heading into “News of the World” with curiosity about what Paul Greengrass has done with the Western, you may discover that the real story here is what the Western has done to Paul Greengrass.
The smash-cut, hyperkinetic editing style that Greengrass first showed mainstream audiences in “Bloody Sunday” and carried into Hollywood studio productions like the “Bourne” franchise is only occasionally on display, with a shoot-out here and a runaway wagon there. In his first film set prior to the 20th century, Greengrass seems to be looking to John Ford and other filmmakers who have used the American West as a vast canvas that all but swallows up its characters.
John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart are dead, of course, but Greengrass has his “Captain Phillips” star Tom Hanks as Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd,...

In the beginning, there was “The Croods,” an agreeable enough 2013 cartoon about an overprotective early man named Grug (Nicolas Cage), who was so worried about the perils of the outside world that he kept his clan confined to a cave. Then his adventurous teenage daughter Eep (Emma Stone) met an outsider, Guy (Ryan Reynolds), and the family was forced to confront the possibility that maybe they had been a little limited in their thinking.
From that rudimentary concept, “The Croods” managed to conjure a surprisingly lavish CG world for these goofy cavepeople to explore — one in which the creatures and environments were so richly detailed, they easily distracted from the threadbare storytelling. (The movie was basically a feature-length sitcom treated as a runaway theme-park ride.) When all was said and done and the Crood family had learned its lesson, there was no organic reason to continue the story, but that didn’t stop DreamWorks Animation,...

Earlier in the week, a Trailer dropped for News of the World, a longtime presumed Oscar frontrunner for this year. Starring Tom Hanks, he reunites with filmmaker Paul Greengrass for a movie that seems to check all of the Academy Award boxes. Period piece? Check. Big star? Check. Timely aspects? Check. It all lines up for something voters may not be able to resist. However, it had been a bit of a mystery, until now. At the end of this post, you can of course see the Trailer, but first, why don’t we learn a little bit more about the flick? The film is a drama with a Western vibe. This is the official long log-line from Universal Pictures: “This Christmas, Universal Pictures is proud to present Tom Hanks starring in News of the World, a moving story written and directed by Paul Greengrass, reuniting for the first...

After once again dramatizing a horrific act of terrorism with his latest film, 22 July, Paul Greengrass is returning this holiday season with a new project and one which has a bit more audience appeal. Reteaming with his Captain Phillips star Tom Hanks, News of the World follows Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd, a Civil War veteran who has ended who travels from town to town delivering the news. He is tasked with returning a child to her biological family after having been taken by and raised by the Kiowa people.
After a brief tease, Universal Pictures have now released the full trailer for the film co-written by Greengrass and Luke Davies (Lion), and based on the National Book Award finalist and best-selling novel by Paulette Jiles. With cinematography by Dariusz Wolski, the style looks like a welcome change of pace for Greengrass.

After collaborating for one of Tom Hanks’ finest performances in Captain Phillips, director Paul Greengrass has reunited with the actor and is changing up his style. News of the World follows Hanks as Captain Jefferson Kyle Kidd, a veteran living a few years after the Civil War has ended who travels from town to town delivering the news. He is tasked with returning a child to her biological family after having been taken by and raised by the Kiowa people.

Distributors keep changing their minds right up until the day before their movies are supposed to open in one of the wildest release eras in memory, making it nearly impossible for moviegoers to keep track of what’s opening when, and where, and how.
This week’s biggest theatrical opening is a Jim Caviezel movie called “Infidel,” although the distribution company Cloudburst Entertainment never responded to requests for review, so we couldn’t do our jobs on that one without driving to the nearest city where theaters are open, so investigate at your own risk.
Audiences willing to brave cinemas will find some reliable options in more limited theatrical release, including “Martha Marcy May Marlene” director Sean Durkin’s latest, “The Nest,” which is the sort of slow-burn psychological drama that benefits from your undivided attention. Meanwhile, for those seeking from-the-nest streaming options, Durkin’s longtime partner in crime, fellow Borderline filmmaker Antonio Campos,...

It’s been a rueful joke for three-quarters of a century now that after World War 2, there were miraculously no Nazis (or even ex-Nazis) left in Germany. To start unblemished postwar lives, an entire generation invented cover stories to minimize or deny the political affiliations most of them had before Axis defeat. Some went further than others, adopting whole new identities in new lands to bury wartime deeds. The fictitious exhumation that is “The Secrets We Keep” has Noomi Rapace as a European refugee appalled to realize her former uniformed persecutor now lives in the same American small town as she does.
This “Death and the Maiden”-like suspense drama is neither fully convincing nor particularly original, its narrative running a course that feels somewhat predictable from the outset.
