I especially made an IMDB account to complain about how Disney managed to destroy the legacy of the movie. I must say I'm not an expert when it comes to background stories (where does the name Boorman come from and such). I'm just a big fan of the original movie, which isn't a complex story. It's just an hero epos, filled with humour, mostly good acting and great music. Oh, and it's despite of the outdated special effects an estatically pleasing movie.
The series has some good estatics as well, but some of the costume choices are really poor. Why the jeans, the zippers and even a onesy? Don't try to be modern with a franchise that's almost 40 years old. Be ashamed of yourself trying to force this style onto a franchise that has so many fans. That's also the case when it comes to the music they've used. It really doesn't match. The original theme was just as good as Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Why use Dire Straits or a bad cover of Metallica to end an episode?
I must admit the humour was good. I really enjoyed Boorman. The story wasn't that bad either. Still this couldn't help me overlook the serious flaws. I won't be watching season 2. The people responsible for the music and the "modern" costumes should be ashamed of themselves.
