Secrets of Sulphur Springs is a mystery series that follows 12-year-old Griffin Campbell and his thrill-seeking friend, Harper as they uncover a secret portal that leads them to uncover clues in order to solve their town's biggest unsolved mystery and save a past child from going missing, never to be seen again.
When I first saw the trailer, which advertised the series as horror films, I did not plan to watch the films, but after reading several reviews and summaries, I decided to try the series, although still hesitant.
I have now seen the first six episodes and love the series! Each scene is full of suspense and action and the sets and effects are amazing! The acting is outstanding and the episodes are never boring. I did not, however, find this series to fit under the horror category. I am personally more sensitive to scary and horrorous films and did not find this series frightening. I would recommend for kids under the age of eight to watch with a trusted adult or family member, since there were a few scenes and concepts that could be scary for younger viewers.
Secrets of Sulphur Springs is rated PG for mild scares and concepts that may frighten younger viewers. In the episodes I have seen (Episodes 1-6) there hasn't been any inappropriate language or violence.
The show is chilling, mysterious, family friendly, and very different from most of the Disney Channel shows. It features impressive effects, great acting, and suspenseful time travel scenes. I recommend this series and am looking forward to the next episode!
