The Jeepers Creepers franchise began with a bang in 2001, capturing the imaginations and nightmares of horror fans with its introduction of the Creeper, a demonic entity that awakens every 23 years to feast on human flesh. Directed by Victor Salva, the original film stood out for its eerie atmosphere, relentless suspense, and the enigmatic terror of the Creeper, portrayed by Jonathan Breck. It struck a chord with audiences, becoming a sleeper hit and grossing over $59 million worldwide. The sequel in 2003 continued to build on this mythology, focusing on a group of stranded teenagers and further cementing the Creeper as a formidable horror icon despite mixed reviews. However, the third installment in 2017 signaled a steep decline, with a disjointed narrative, lackluster special effects, and a failure to capture the franchise’s original suspense and terror. Despite these ups and downs, the franchise’s enduring legacy and dedicated fanbase prompted a reboot with...

One of the stranger subgenres of horror films to emerge recently is that involving sharks from outer space. Space Sharks is the latest addition, following Iron Sky and its sequel, Sky Sharks and Shark Side of the Moon, among others. Of none of them are nearly as good as the original The Outer Limits episode The Invisible Enemy, but that’s a whole different bucket of chum.
What concerns us now is the commercial spacecraft, The Clairvoyant, returning to Earth with a cargo of alien sea creatures and plant life. That includes what looks like a couple of small sharks with legs and feet. They have visions of generous research grants dancing in the heads of their scientific team. That consists of Dr. Johnson, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Hansen played by...

The idea of found footage as a filmmaking technique stretches back to at least 1961 with the release of Shirley Clarke's relatively obscure drama "The Connection." The found footage style was used to present scripted material as if it were documentary footage, employing a lot of shaky, handheld camera work and extemporaneous-sounding dialogue. The term "found footage" sprung from a common conceit of the style, which often implied that something horrible had happened to the filmmakers that prevented them from assembling and editing their footage. Once their footage was found, it was edited by a third party and presented in the theater.
There were many found footage films from 1961 until 2007, but the release and overwhelming success of Oren Peli's "Paranormal Activity" sparked a years-long wave of the format, with most of its glory-chasers employing horror as their baseline. Late 2000s found footage horror was largely effective, as it often...

Above the North Atlantic Ocean, a terrorist group hijack Oceanic Flight 420. The countdown begins as the Nsa try finding a way to combat the situation before the plane’s fuel runs out. Director Hawkins (Alec Baldwin) plans to shoot down the plane before it does catastrophic damage on the ground, although Deputy Toyin (Jo Martin) wishes to put faith in their asset; an Interpol agent working undercover amongst the hijackers.
A key moment has Hawkins declare “This is not the beginning of some heroic story”, before calmly explaining his rationalisation of sacrificing a plane of innocent civilians to save other lives. Pavan Grover, a writer and producer on the recent action thriller “97 Minutes” starring Alec Baldwin, has spoken out about standing firm with the star in the aftermath of “Rust.”
Grover, a Houston-based spinal surgeon with a passion for cinema, debuted as a writer in 2002 with “Unspeakable” starring Dennis Hopper, and served as a producer on “Odd Thomas” (2013), based on Dean Koontz’s novel and directed by Stephen Sommers (“The Mummy”).
Grover pitched the idea of “97 Minutes” — a ticking-clock thriller in which a hijacked airplane has 97 minutes before it runs out of fuel — when he met Baldwin serendipitously at Sundance in early 2021. Once Baldwin was attached, the project raised coin via presales, distribution and American and international debt financing, based on the actor’s value in those markets.

In a race against time, a hijacked 767 hurtles towards disaster, with its fuel reserves dwindling rapidly... Plot: When an ex-soldier who discovers gold in the Lapland wilderness tries to take the loot into the city, Nazi soldiers led by a brutal SS officer battle him.
Review: If you saw John Wick: Chapter 4 in the theater, chances are you saw the trailer for Sisu. The brutally bloody teaser showcased the same level of carnage we have expected from David Leitch films like Nobody and Bullet Train, but Sisu is very different. Harkening to the bloodlust one feels dispatching Nazis in games like Wolfenstein 3D or in zombie films like Dead Snow and Iron Sky; Sisu is chock full of World War II German monsters getting what they deserve in every conceivable way as well as some you likely never would have thought up in a million years. Lionsgate is betting that American audiences will appreciate Sisu much like they did Inglourious Basterds, and I can confirm that they absolutely will.

The mountains of Switzerland. Fresh air. Fresh faced young people, full of love. Wild flowers and waterfalls and...cheese smuggling? This Alpine Paradise might not be quite what you thought it was. Iron Sky director Timo Vuorensola may have delivered a disappointment with that film’s sequel, but with his producer hat on he’s back on form with this unlikely tale of totalitarianism, resistance and revenge.
The cheese smuggler is Goat Peter (Kel Matsena), whose affectionate relationship with his caprine charges has inspired him to create his own products high amongst the peaks. This is a serious offence in a mountain land under the sway of tyrannical leader and cheese magnate President Meili (Casper Van Dien). When the military police track him down, they also arrest his girlfriend Heidi (Alice Lucy), taking a more serious interest upon discovering that she’s the daughter of an old revolutionary. That’s their first mistake.

In “My Neighbor Adolf,” a Polish Holocaust survivor living in South America suspects that the belligerent German who’s just moved in next door could be none other than der Führer himself. How could that be? Hitler shot himself in his bunker at the end of the war. Or did he? Director Leon Prudovsky’s middling mind game pits David Hayman and prolific German character actor Udo Kier against one another in what could have been a sly, “Sleuth”-style two-hander. But the tonally uneven movie isn’t prepared for its own premise: If the man’s hunch is correct, what are the implications of making friends/enemies with evil?
Years earlier, Malek Polsky (Hayman) sat opposite Hitler at the World Chess Championship in Berlin. He swears he’d recognize “those dead blue eyes” anywhere — and now they’re staring right back at him over the rickety wooden fence that separates their properties.

In the first leg of what it hopes is an industry revolution, Zurich-based A Film Company has raised north of 2 million in crowd investment from 560 people across 19 counties to co-finance “Mad Heidi,” an action-adventure horror comedy reimagining of the Swiss icon.
The Ott re-set includes portraying the Swiss icon Hedi as she’s never been seen before – with smocked dress, puffed sleeves, apron and pigtails, yes, but as a badass, kick-ass rebel with the brute strength to slice an opponent in two, top to toe, with a battle axe, for example.
In industrial terms, however, the change goes even further as “Mad Heidi” departs from traditional film models not only in financing but also distribution.
Starring Casper Van Dien (“Starship Troopers”) and David Schofield, the English-language movie, with a total 3.5 million budget, is now readying for the second and most radical part of the experiment: Exclusive global release day and date on madheidi.

Alec Baldwin has found his next pair of acting projects on the heels of the shooting on the Albuquerque set of his Western Rust, Deadline has confirmed.
He will star alongside his brother Daniel Baldwin and Elva Trill in the live-action/animated Christmas family comedies Kid Santa and Billie’s Magic World, from Italian director Francesco Cinquemani, with production to take place in Rome. Both Baldwins will produce the titles from Minerva Pictures and Andrea Iervolino and Monica Bacardi’s Ilbe.
Alec Baldwin last collaborated with Cinquemani on the sci-fi pic Andron: The Black Labyrinth. His involvement with the director’s latest films reportedly preceded the Rust incident, which saw him discharge a prop gun, which killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, while injuring director Joel Souza.

Most people around the world would fail spectacularly if asked to list five Finnish films on the spot. It is a country whose film industry tends too often to get overshadowed by that of its neighbors. To the west, there’s Sweden, a country that gave us Ingar Bergman, Let The Right One In and all those Stieg Larsson Girl with the Never-Ending Sequels films. To the south, we have Poland, a country that gave us not only Janusz Kamiński, but also Krzysztof Kieślowski, a director whose Three Colours trilogy are a rite of passage for prospective film students all over the world. It’s hard to stand out in a crowd when you’re being overlooked by your Scandinavian neighbors. However, sometimes a film comes out that is so interesting and so gripping, that it just refuses to be ignored. Case in point, the 2022 adventure-horror film Hatching.

After the Horrorfest film festival (est. 2005) started receiving many feature films and short films from around the world with strong Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Animation elements (but not enough to fit the event's Horror theme), the organizers felt compelled to not let these amazing submissions fall by the wayside, and simply created a separate event. Thus Celludroid was born! (movie submissions at https://filmfreeway.com/Celludroid ) While its main focus is Science Fiction, Celludroid also include Animation and movies with Fantasy elements. Since its inception in 2009, Celludroid screened loads of great short films and some amazing movies, new, old and rare, from District 9, Iron Sky, Hardware, Montauk Chronicles and Dust Devil, to Akira, Lunopolis, Godkiller, War Of The Worlds: The True Story, Automatons, The Rift, Science Team and...

You’ve never seen Udo Kier like this before. The heavily accented German character actor, who got his start in Andy Warhol’s “Flesh for Frankenstein” and was finally accepted as a member of the Motion Picture Academy this past year, has spent the intervening decades alternating between art films and exploitation movies, appearing as Nazis and nutjobs in everything from “Iron Sky” to “Nymphomaniac.” In Todd Stephens’ “Swan Song,” he plays a flaming small-town Ohio hairdresser who burns brighter than a dying star — which is precisely the way his character, Pat Pitsenbarger, sees himself.
Dressed like a cross between Liberace and Quentin Crisp, “Mister Pat” — who was in fact a real person — catered to the socialites of straight-laced Sandusky by day. In his off hours, he entertained at the local gay bar, the Universal Fruit and Nut Company, so comfortable with his queerness that he inspired Stephens’ own coming-out...

"These are sharks... but they can fly, you say?" Dark Sky Films has released an official trailer for a totally ridiculous action CGI-spectacle called Sky Sharks, from filmmaker Marc Fehse. First there was Iron Sky, then there was Sharknado, then there was the Iron Sky sequel (The Coming Race), now there's Sky Sharks. After an arctic research team discovers a long-lost Nazi warship frozen in the ice, they inadvertently unleash the Third Reich's unknown secret weapon: Sky Sharks. What if the Nazis had been secretly developing giant modified flying sharks flown by undead super-humans? Yeah, that's all they've got for a concept this time. The film's cast includes Tony Todd, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Eva Habermann, Naomi Grossman, Amanda Bearse, Robert Lasardo, and Dave Sheridan. This is one of the strangest trailers you'll ever see, with barely any good footage, and a title placed over a random shot of a city. Huh?...

In the aftermath of a nuclear war with Nazis, remnants of the human race living on the moon seek a new beginning in the center of the Earth in Iron Sky: The Coming Race. With the sequel to 2012’s Iron Sky out now from Vertical Entertainment, we caught up with director Timo Vuorensola to discuss working with Udo Kier, being inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones, and taking viewers from the moon to the center of the Earth in Iron Sky: The Coming Race.
Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us, Timo, and congratulations on Iron Sky: The Coming Race! How long have you had the idea for a sequel to 2012’s Iron Sky, and what made this the perfect time to continue this story?

In 2012, Udo Kier appeared in Iron Sky as Wolfgang, the Führer of the Nazis, who – in the peculiar vision of Finnish director Timo Vuorensola – managed to survive after the end of WWII and traveled to the dark side of the Moon. Kier’s antagonistic character was, certainly, important, but in all fairness he didn’t have a lot of screen time back then, to the point that the Moon Führer gets killed in the middle of the story. But the new and crazier Iron Sky: The Coming Race is here now and those who enjoy the always noteworthy presence of the cult German actor will be pleasantly surprised. In the sequel, set in 2047 (29 years after the events of Iron Sky), Kier is not...

In 2047, 29 years after the events of the original Iron Sky, young Obi (Lara Rossi), the daughter of Renate (Julia Dietze) and the now deceased James Washington (Christopher Kirby in the first film), is one of the few persons who’s trying to do something about the fact that the Moon is now a very troubled place. While the Nazis are long gone, the Moon suffers from overpopulation, social inequality, health issues, constant quakes, and even from a dominant and privileged religious cult that worships Steve Jobs. When a spaceship strangely arrives from Earth, even if everybody thought life there was nonexistent, things in Timo Vuorensola’s Iron Sky: The Coming Race...

This Iron Sky franchise is just one of those super bonkers things that some audiences just can’t help but enjoy. What I like about them is that they don’t hold back on the craziness, they embrace it and take it to the ridiculous extreme. In this next chapter the adventure goes from the moon to the center of the Earth!

"Let's make Earth great again!" Vertical Entertainment has released a new official Us trailer and a poster for the long-awaited, delayed-for-years sci-fi sequel Iron Sky: The Coming Race, which has been in the works since 2014. This film was released in Europe earlier in the year, and we posted two trailers back then for its initial debut. It's now opening in the Us in July, for those who still want to catch up with it. The plot is just as absurd as the first Iron Sky - the Nazis are back after lying dormant in a secret base on the Moon, now they're attacking with an army of ancient shapeshifting reptilians riding dinosaurs. Madness. Starring Julia Dietze, Götz Otto, Christopher Kirby, Tilo Brückner, Peta Sergeant, Stephanie Paul, and Udo Kier. This is one of those films that you know is going to be terrible, but you also just have to see it for yourself.

Taking a page from Iron Sky, Sky Sharks has captured the imagination of cult film fans the world over with its far-out premise and overall level of craftsmanship. Back in 2008 the Cannes Film Festival saw a number of highly regarded films play, with Laurent Cantet’s The Class walking away with the coveted Palme D’or. Woody Allen’s Vicky Christina Barcelona caused audiences to swoon, Terence Davies’ sublime Of Time and the City had its first play alongside Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. It was the very definition of a mixed bag. However there was one film, not yet complete, which almost stole the show.

I remember the reactions to that trailer, and just a few years later wrote up the first proper news article about it on HeyUGuys. The film was a hit, and made good on its crazy premise.

You would be spoiled for ways to describe Finland’s natural bounty — a breathtaking tapestry of Arctic tundra, glacial fields, boreal forests, gin-clear lakes, and dramatic coastline offering easy access to the world’s largest archipelago. The landscape is as wild and untouched as anywhere on the planet; the air is relatively pollution-free, making the sunlight in Finland crisp and clear, with a magical “blue period” lingering over the long dawns and dusks. At the height of summer, the midnight sun shines for 24 hours, though winter days are short.
