Filming begun on June 24, 2019 and lasted for 6 weeks. The last day of shooting took place in November 2019, about a month before the film's release, in late December, due to the premature birth of Paulo Gustavo's son Romeu.
Paulo Gustavo did his own make up for this film. He stated it took about one and a half hours on hair and makeup to get ready to shoot.
The scene with babies and the dad in Los Angeles was recorded with the real husband and children of Paulo Gustavo.
The film has grossed R$181.7 million and as of May 2020, it is the highest-grossing and the second most viewed film in Brazilian film history.
Paulo Gustavo intended on recording a follow up 4-season series to this movie for Globoplay before his tragic passing in 2020. Marieta Severo had been cast as Hermínia's mother.
