Jhimma (2021) :
Brief Review -
Finally a mature filmmaking by Hemant Dhome. Jhimma certainly ranks among the best feel-good, journey-driven multi starrers made in Marathi cinema recently. There are not many films in Marathi which can be enjoyed by the masses and classes, both kinds of audiences- causing a specific fear to filmmakers. Thankfully, we had Ravi Jadhav and Nagraj Manjule's blockbusters which ran riot in single screens, multiplexes, Television and on digital platforms (including piracy). Hemant Dhome has been writing and directing for the last 5-6 years (considering only big films), but he was missing something with every film. Whether it was his attempt to make a terrible sequel to an average comedy or patriotic Marathi Bana with Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's reference, it just couldn't fit perfectly. With Jhimma, it seems that he has cracked the formula finally. This one is a terrific entertainer with feel-good Vibes, little emotional plating, humorously hilarious comedy and most importantly a human drama that explores different lives with the backdrop of different issues. So, every character in the film has some issue in its personal life, that's too much I mean, but that's how you make a drama, right? I think it's okay because, you know somewhere in this world someone must have that issue in his/her life then why try to disown it when it comes to the film. Jhimma starts off on a strong note- sensible comedy mixes itself up with out-and-out gags. The performances make it worth watching. It's okay if you have some issues with the film or the screenplay (don't guess, even I had few), but you can't have any problems with the characters and the actors who have performed it so well. After a long wait Marathi cinema has made something enjoyable and cheerful in the multistarrer genre, so you better watch it. And yes, try it with your family and close ones together, it'll help a lot.

Superb Amazing.. Nadkhula 😊
I have heard a lot about this movie. Today I got chance to see this movie. I was already in bad mood due to lot of wrong happening around me. But after watching this movie I got refreshed. Made my weekend perfect. After a long time such beautiful movie in Marathi. Every character relates us or people around us. It's actually everyone's story. Amazing. Acting of every character is very natural. All age groups are covered in these characters. I will say this is not movie but beautiful journey which makes you happy. Whatever may happen in your life you have to find your own joy. You have to take care of your smile. Sometimes you should come out of your comfort zone and try the things which you always just think about them. Keep guts to say what is in your mind which can make your relationship strong. Sometimes we ourselves only bind some boundaries. So come out of it. Think differently. Get confidence in small small things. Love yourself and live in present moment. That's the life. That's what this whole journey about. I loved it a lot. Every one should watch this.

One Of The Best Marathi Movies; Feel-Good
Amazing movie. A travel film but doesn't feel like a fever dream. Very simple women from different age groups and backgrounds go for a trip to England. They explore the country as well as themselves. An insighful movie, no exaggeration, no unnecessary peak moments, no over-stretched drama. Good cast and good story. An overall good movie to watch with companions or alone. You won't be bored.

Finally a good movie
The movie was so realistic and relatable to what is going on in almost every urban woman's life today. I really appreciate thus film making team for keeping the story line simple and realistic.
The entire team has done justice to their respective roles in the movie.

Nope..not entertained at all!!
No storyline..unnecessary scenes..
Acting is good but the cast should have been better. Casting is miserable like the storyline of the movie.
Fails to impress. Good try from the marathi film's point but nope, it does not entertain you. You would want to run away whilst you watch the movie.
We do not expect a great movie everytime but a fair or a good movie would just do fine to keep our marathi film industry going.

Superbbb
One of the best I saw recently..each n every character is thoughtfully written n casted..All actors have done their jobs pretty well. Of course, Nirmitee Sawant stands out from all of them.
And hemant dhome as guest appearance also performs surprisingly good. Over all it's nice experience and eye candy to watch.

Delightful Film
I chose Jhimma just by chance last evening (Primevideo orig. Marathi w/Eng. Subs) and what a pleasing film it turned out to be.
A ladies only tour to the UK conducted by Kabir (Siddharth Chandekar) of Sunflower Tours, brings together a random group of Maharashtrian women of various ages. As they mingle, bond, squabble, make up and generally let their hair down during the tour, their individual quirks, nature, background stories, relationships play out in a sweet, spicy and poignant manner.
Some key characters from the tour are the rustic Nirmala mavshi (Nirmiti Sawant) a politicians wife just seeking a solo break from her typical routine politicians wife role, Meeta (Kshitee Jog) who is still traumatised by her loving husband's inexplicable suicide, Vaishali (Suchitra Bandekar) accompanied by her daughter Maithili (Sonali Kulkarni) who is strangely reluctant to meet her fiancee Nikhil(Hemant Dhome) who lives in London, the feisty Indu Ajji (Suhas Joshi) for whom this tour is an escape from the drudgery of living with her children and managing their homes, the perky Rama (Mrinmayee Godbole) married to a Gujarati who is desperate to conceive and the youngest member of the tourgroup, the extrovert Krutika (Sayali Sanjeev) who looks forward to meeting her Insta male friend who lives in the UK.
As the tour proceeds, the lives of the participants unfurl.
No Further Spoilers as its really a delightful watch, getting to know the characters as the narration plays on keeping the viewer nicely engaged. The music is also melodious.
Every actor has done justice to their respective role. Suhas Joshi and Nirmiti Sawant are particularly noteworthy. The sets, the locations and the cinematography are all good.
Jhimma is a lovely, pleasing film. This is another gem of the underrated Marathi film industry. Do watch.

Good try but it fails to impress
To start with Jhimma is a good try for a Marathi film fraternity. Shooting abroad, pubs, drinking..But it fails miserably. Unnecessary scenes, seems like trying to create scenes like a hindi movie(s).
Whilst you watch the movie, most of time you would feel there is no storyline. Even though its entertainmentit story could have been simple and crisp.
Also, more importantly the cast should have been better.

Must watch
Great cast and great performance by all. You will have a constant smile throughout the movie.
You will have learnings along the way as well.
Songs could have been avoided but i guess story demands it.
Humor is decent but it's enough.

Ok movie
I didn't like this movie as there is a deliberate try of showing scenes like girls are boozing, many scenes do not appear natural. You can watch it just one time.

New era of Marathi cinema
'Zhimma'- it all starts with unique catchy name. Scripting provides and insightful thought process of what women go through and how they thrive to move on. Hemants vision to make a difference in society using his flim making skill is clearly coming to light. Wishing the team well and hope the focus remains on good scripts than songs.

A heart warming, feel good film!!
Marathi films usually depict realities of life in a beautiful manner and this film does just that too! I love how the film is brimming with simplicity, beauty, love, laughter and the depiction of the little joys and sorrows of life that dominate all of us. The direction is beautiful and the cast is as good as it could get!! I went on a Veena World ladies trip few years back and I could relate to so much happening in the film. A great movie that will leave you feeling happy and restore your faith in friendship.

Close to my heart
Movie released 70 days ago and to be surprised it's still going on in some theatres yesterday I watched it 3rd time and still can't resist .. the reason why I said close to my heart is that I also went on a trip with "stranger women's " means we don't know anything of anyone but still that bond created in us that the friendship that I made there is long lasting , I am a women and that trip for me was A Freedom for me that I enjoyed full on ... Jhimma is an Awesome experience.
