Ten out of the twelve volleyball players of the 2016 Olympic winning team star as themselves. Yao Di, who had been cut from the team prior to the Olympics, took the role of Wei Qiuyue, who became unavailable due to her pregnancy at the time of filming. Her husband, Yuan Lingxi, the assistant coach on the team, also appears as himself.
