Very kind movie =)
A lot of specific military jokes and allusions to real life characters, so do your homework before watching and enjoy.
Tragic comedy about simple people on Russian-Ukrainian war with tons of cute little moments. Hyperbolic but understandable.
Most powerful moments was at the end. There is no word about "based on true story" but final documentary show it straight (in final titles) - break me in tears, because it was too close to reality.
Strong political background, so any russian will give low mark. But this is good product. From start till end.
As many have probably already said, one of the few things that makes the horrors that a society goes through is humor - and "Lethal Kittens" is an example of this. This film isn't for everyone. For instance, I don't think that someone completely unfamiliar with Ukrainian culture or the atrocities of the Russo-Ukrainian war in Eastern and Southern Ukraine will really get the jokes or understand why it's worth joking about. If you see a negative review, that's probably why. However, for its audience, the film is a bit of a release... It "says what everyone's feeling, but don't know how to express..."
As far as the name, "Lethal Kittens" is a rough English translation of the nickname that volunteers use for the soldiers that they support. That's one of the important things to understand for the context of this film. Especially in 2014 and 2015, the Ukrainian army was so poorly equipped that villages had to band together to buy bullet-proof vests or helmets for their sons that were being sent against the Russian army in Donetsk. Volunteers were essential to the survival of Ukraine, not just the soldiers on the front lines. Because of this lack of resources and support from the government, the soldiers often felt abandoned by their higher-ups (this is seen in the film). This is still true today.
If you've gotten this far in my review and are a praying person, please pray for this conflict, especially for all of those caught up in the fighting.

Maybe it's difficult for non-Ukrainian audiences to understand this movie. But for me... it was the first time for years I wanted to laugh and cry watching this movie. It definitely worth to be watched.

Amazing comedy movie in style of "Hot Shots!", but in the context of Russo-Ukrainian War. Good acting of actors, hold the attention from hilarious moments to moments of sadness piercing (not so common).
Honestly, I am impressed.

Awful movie in every way. It would be better, if this movie hadn't released at all. The fact that it was funded by ukrainian govermant is really outregeous.
The early days of war and the atmosphere on the front lines is usually difficult to describe to people outside the events, yet this film does a marvelous job at being extremely accurate in metaphorical sense. Despair, courage, fleeing illusions and the making of warriors out of soft-bodied civilians, freedom of speech and journalism standards - everything is being replayed in the movie with kindness and grotesque humor. Funny to both the general audience and participants of those events, it nevertheless touches the sorrow inside and draws tears without any palpable effect from scriptwriters/director.
First and best military comedy that describes the beginning of the Ukrainian-russian war on 2014.

Enjoy each second. Funny and serious at same time. Would recommend it. Respect to Ukraine.
You should see this movie to understand real feelings of people who's motherland was invaded by Russian troops, and how hard it could be to stand against them, but the humour is something could help those people to keep strong and fight.
I only disappointed this not become a series as it was planned.
A wonderful tragicomedy about the Ukrainian-Russian war. Glory to Ukraine.

Very, very awesome movie! Our soldiers, our spirit and our honour! Ukraine is in the heart!
You understand this film better if you first read a little about the Russian aggression in the east of Ukraine. The film says that you need to laugh at problems, then they are solved faster and more confidently. I think this is exactly the message the director of the film wanted to convey. Happy viewing!
