Kamal Haasan, one of the biggest stars of India’s Tamil-language film industry, has joined Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in the cast of Telugu sci-fi epic Project K.

The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by one of the Telugu industry’s biggest production houses, Ashwani Dutt’s Vyjayanthi Movies, which is marking its 50th anniversary with the project.

Korea’s Anthology Studios and India’s Panorama Studios have partnered for the remake of the Drishyam franchise in Korea.

Panorama Studios is backed by producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, while Anthology Studios is founded by former Warner Bros. local Korean production head, Choi Jae-won (aka Jay Choi), “Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho and acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon. The trio previously worked together on 2016 film “The Age of Shadows.” Anthology’s “Cobweb,” directed by Kim, produced by Choi and starring Song, is premiering out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on May 25.

Mumbai, May 29 (Ians) Singer Mika Singh says he will make a new single titled "Krk Kutta", claiming the song is meant to be a "befitting reply" to actor-turned-critic Kamaal R. Khan, or Krk, in the context of the latters ongoing tussle with Bollywood star Salman Khan.

A statement issued by Salman's lawyers recently said that he was filing a defamation suit against Krk for alleging that the star engages in fraudulent activity and launders funds through his Ngo, Being Human. Mumbai, May 24 (Ians) On the basis of a suit filed by Zee, the Delhi High Court has ordered WhatsApp users to stop circulating Salman Khan's latest film "Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai". This comes after the distributor alleged that the film has been a victim of rampant piracy through social media platforms.

The High Court has directed WhatsApp to suspend services to numbers that are being used to sell pirated copies of the film.

The court has also directed the country's leading telecom operators -- Airtel, Jio and Vodafone -- to disclose subscriber details of the offenders, with Zee to initiate further legal action against them.

Salman Khan-starrer ‘Radhe’, has offered a new ray of hope to the Indian film industry with the partial success of a multiple platform experiment at a time when Bollywood has suffered massive losses amid closure of cinema screens due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zee Studios had decided to release ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ simultaneously across multiple platforms, including theatres (wherever they are open) and via pay-per-view on on Zee5. 'Radhe' was available to rent for ₹249 on ZEE5 as well as for Dth subscribers. Additionally, ZEE5 had also launched a combo offer for annual subscription at ₹499, giving 'Radhe' complimentary.

So now, at 55-56, I am doing stuff that I used to do when I was 14-15 years old. It is because my younger generation is Tiger Shroff.

Salman on late Saturday night shared a warning note on his Instagram story. He said that despite the reasonable price of Rs 249, some have downloaded the film illegally and that the Cyber Cell is taking action against the pirated sites.

He wrote, "We offered you to watch our film Radhe at a reasonable price of Inr 249 per view. Inspite of that pirated sites are streaming Radhe illegally which is a serious crime. Cyber cell is taking action against all these pirated sites."

Salman urged all to not "participate in piracy" or the cyber cell will take action against them as well.

The film will release theatrically worldwide, wherever cinemas are open, as scheduled on May 13, during the Eid holiday season. In addition, globally, the film will also be available on streamer ZEE5 to all annual premium subscribers for a one-time viewing.

New Delhi, March 16 (Ians) Arjun Kanungo made his mark as a singer-songwriter, and now the 30-year-old is all excited to prove his mettle as an actor -- that too in a Salman Khan biggie. Arjun will be seen in the Bollywood superstar's Eid release of the year, "Radhe".

There seems to be some positive development for the exhibition trade, as some filmmakers are venturing to release their films at the cinema halls. Last year, due to Corona, some of the best release slots were lost. Since then, neither filmmakers nor viewers have come forward to take in a movie at a cinema hall.

Not that any film released since lockdown in cinema halls was withdrawn -- albeit with restrictions -- had what is called face value or promotion. The few films that managed to release were not worth one's while even during normal situation, least of all in Corona time.

Mumbai, March 9 (Ians) Hit director-actor combos are all set to be back in business this year. From Rohit Shetty-Ranveer Singh to Salman Khan-Prabhudheva and from Taapsee Pannu-Anurag Kashyap to Ranbir Kapoor-Ayan Mukerji, there are a host of teams lined up in some of the biggest projects, which have spelt magic at the box office in the past.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels this is always a boon. "It is always better to repeat 'jodi's. It doesn't matter if it is actors working again with each other or directors reuniting with actors. The expectation of the audiences increases and there is a curiosity. But, yes, at the end of the day it all depends on content. That has to be good," he said.

Mumbai, Feb 25: Bollywood experienced a lull last year with hardly any film getting a theatrical release owing to the complete closure of cinemas. With business opening up, many films are ready to release and raring to go. The inevitable, of course, is happening with a slew of films announcing release dates. In an overcrowded market, multiple Fridays this year will see box office clash between two films.

"These sort of clashes should not happen, especially at this time. As it is, business is slow. People are not coming to the theatres in big numbers and the situation is not all that profitable. At this point of time, we cannot afford clashes," says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
