The National Wrestling Alliance, for which Billy Corgan serves as owner and president, has announced an exclusive streaming rights deal with The CW — including a new reality show starring The Smashing Pumpkins frontman.
Corgan and the Nwa announced the new deal with The CW on Wednesday (February 21st). The “all-encompassing partnership” will see The CW streaming multiple Nwa programs free of charge and without the need of a subscription for The CW app.
That programming includes “a brand new unscripted untitled series about Corgan’s life, family, role as President of Nwa, and his ‘day job'” — the latter presumably a reference to his music career. Set to premiere later this year on The CW, the series is co-produced by Corgan’s own production company Lightning One Inc. and Nacelle Company and will offer an “unprecedented vignette into every dimension of his world with unparalleled candor.”

Color commentator Jim Cornette has resigned from the National Wrestling Alliance (Nwa) after making racist remarks on a YouTube show.
Cornette was working on Nov 19 for the YouTube wrestling show Nwa Powerrr when he made a comment concerning wrestler Trevor Murdoch. He said Murdoch “is the only man I’ve ever known that can strap a bucket of fried chicken on his back and ride a motor scooter across Ethiopia. Trevor Murdoch can take care of himself!”
Viewers were immediately outraged, and the Nwa pulled the episode and edited out the comment. It issued a statement today on the matter.
“Effective immediately: Jim Cornette has resigned from the National Wrestling Alliance. As an announcer on the November 19th edition of Nwa Power, Jim made remarks during a singles match between Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch that were both offensive and do not meet the high standards of decency and good...

Professional wrestling mainstay Jim Cornette has resigned his position with the National Wrestling Alliance.
“Effective immediately: Jim Cornette has resigned from the National Wrestling Alliance,” the company said in a statement released Wednesday. “As an announcer on the November 19th edition of ‘Nwa Power,’ Jim made remarks during a singles match between Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch that were both offensive and do not meet the high standards of decency and good faith of the National Wrestling Alliance. To ensure that such an error can never happen again, we’ve established new procedures of review for all Nwa programming going forward. We sincerely regret our failure in this regard.”
Cornette had been working as a color commentator on the Nwa’s recently-launched weekly YouTube wrestling show, “Nwa Power,” but during the Nov. 19 episode he said, “[Trevor Murdoch] is the only man I’ve ever known that can strap a bucket of fried...
