Good documentary that follows the students for a year that offers insight into the hard training in the ballet.
I really wanted to know so much more! About every single dancer and teacher, the school, its history, the program. What a wonderful documentary series. A real treat for any current, future, former or wannabe dancer.
If Covid cut this short, I hope they will reprise this eventually. There are just not enough shows out there like this about ballet in particular or dance in general. Positive programs that do not perpetuate the idea of fierce competition. Yes, the dance world, like any other artistic field is tough and requires skill and grit, but it's also nothing without good sportsmanship. Very well done showing exactly that!

On Pointe is a behind the scenes look into the lives of students at The School of American Ballet in NYC. Having been a dance student growing up I enjoyed the series. The kids were talented, hardworking, and supportive of each other. It made me smile.

Growing up as a dancer this documentary gave me great joy to watch. It felt like it was my own personal time machine. It's absolutely amazing to watch what parents are willing to sacrifice for a chance to help their little ones become all they can.
