Actor Sunny Singh, who has wrapped up shooting for ‘Risky Romeo’ after a one and a half months in Kolkata, feels the genre of the upcoming film is completely unexplored and said it was a bold step to showcase emotions in a different way through it.

The film is written and directed by Abir Sengupta, who had previously directed ‘Kiara Advani’ starrer ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’. ‘Risky Romeo’ also stars Kriti Kharbanda.

Mumbai, Aug 30 (Ians) Actor Sunny Singh, who will be next be seen in ‘Risky Romeo’, a tragic comedy, says the genre has been less explored in Hindi cinema and hopes that his upcoming film will be able to fill that void.

Directed by Abir Sengupta, who previously helmed ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’, ‘Risky Romeo’ is said to be an intriguing blend of explosive drama and a contemporary exploration of existential crisis. It is being touted as a stylish and edgy neo-noir comic tragedy.

There seems to be some positive development for the exhibition trade, as some filmmakers are venturing to release their films at the cinema halls. Last year, due to Corona, some of the best release slots were lost. Since then, neither filmmakers nor viewers have come forward to take in a movie at a cinema hall.

Not that any film released since lockdown in cinema halls was withdrawn -- albeit with restrictions -- had what is called face value or promotion. The few films that managed to release were not worth one's while even during normal situation, least of all in Corona time.

The makers of Indoo Ki Jawani dropped the much-awaited trailer of the film on Monday evening and it promises full-on entertainment. The film stars Kiara Advani , Aditya Seal and Mallika Dua in the lead roles

In the trailer, Kiara plays the role of a girl-next-door named Indira Gupta aka Indoo, who is trying to find her true love. On her friend's suggestion, she tries her luck on Tinder, a dating app. However, her life takes a new turn after she meets a man from Pakistan (played by Aditya Seal), who disguised himself as a Hyderabad native.

After she gets to know about his real identity, she sees news about terrorists from Pakistan infiltrating the city. She starts suspecting him. The second half of the trailer shows how Indoo's love story takes a new twist.

Mumbai, Nov 21 (Ians) The Kiara Advani-starrer Indoo Ki Jawani will release in theatres on December 11, the actress confirmed on Saturday.

"It's Happening!!! #IndooKiJawani in cinemas near you on 11th December 2020," Kiara wrote on her verified Instagram account,

sharing the film's poster.

Directed by Abir Sengupta, the coming-of-age comedy also features Aditya Seal and Mallika Dua.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also tweeted the news on his verified account. "Official Announcement... In Cinemas, 11 Dec 2020... #IndooKiJawani -- starring #KiaraAdvani with #AdityaSeal and #MallikaDua -- to release in *cinemas* on 11 Dec 2020... Directed by Abir Sengupta," he wrote.

The story of the film revolves around a girl from Ghaziabad and her misadventures with dating apps. The film pairs Kiara opposite Aditya Seal for the first time.

Kiara Advani on Tuesday shared a teaser of her upcoming song ‘Hasina Pagal Deewani’ from the film.

“Kal toh by god mazey hi aa jaayege! You know what it is, right? Agar nahi pata toh wait karo!! Bas ye samajh lo ki ek #HasinaPagalDeewani hone waali hai,” wrote the ‘Kabir Singh’ actor as she teased the upcoming number with a colourful poster of the song.
