Most clubscenes were filmed at Belgium Nightclub "Kokorico" which was fitted with very similar light installations as the original Zillion Club.
The real-life Frank Verstraeten has a cameo in the auction scene, in which he buys the snake.
Many outfits Jonas Vermeulen is wearing in the movie were donated by the real Frank Verstraeten which he actually wore back at the time Zillion existed.
Charlotte Timmers's character Vanessa is loosely based on former Miss Belgium Brigitta Callens, Frank Verstraeten's real-life girlfriend during Zillion's heyday. Callens herself threatened to sue Robin Pront and his crew if her name was mentioned.
Many scenes were filmed in "Kokorico", the nightclub of Frank Verstraeten's close friend Roger Kerremans in Zomergem (Lievegem), Flanders which is one of the surviving nightclubs of Flanders' wild 1990s. Kerremans's firm Techno Construct was responsible for the technical installations in the real-life Zillion club.
