Some of the casting choices in this movie are ridiculous. A mid seventies Stephanie Beecham playing an active senior police officer, and the actor playing the female detective pumped so full of fillers that she can't even deliver her lines clearly. She might actually be half decent if she could speak clearly and looked like she could be a police officer.
I didn't mind the low budget feel, I enjoyed We Still Kill The Old Way and this is in the same vein with similar older British stars, plush the bonus of Danny Trejo.
It's an ok film to pass 90 mins but it does make some terrible casting choices.

Really, all the marks I give for this are based around the fact it contains some people that I've always liked. Ian Ogilvy, Lee Majors, Danny Trejo, Paul Barber, etc. And in essence, I have seen a lot worse films, but if you're expecting too much, you're in for disappointment. The plot is net curtain thin, the b part actors and henchmen are really pretty awful and the editing and dialog are pretty poor at times. Also, the lady who played the investigating police officer called Moore was really awful, plus she looked like maybe she was made up to look really odd, maybe it was the intention of the film as I can't imagine anyone would choose to have things done to make them look like that on purpose.
However, in the end, it provided a basic level of entertainment and there was a element of fun, so if you're caught short for something to watch, there are worse things out there........probably....... somewhere..........with a bit of a search.

I love London gangster revenge movies so I was looking forward to this one as it has some stellar cast members. Unfortunately it also has some bad actors and some poor writing. One of the worst cast members is married to the writer. Go figure.
Ian Ogilvy is, as always, a delight. The underrated Paul Barber is superb and Billy Murray does what he does best. So nice to see Lee Majors on screen again. However, Stephanie Beacham is far too old to be playing a serving senior police officer and looks as if she is on life support. Sothcott is hopelessly miscast as a Detective Inspector. She can't act and looks like a victim of a botched Botox procedure. And it's all a bit confused. She carries a gun but clearly nobody showed her how to use it and why would a DI in London be carrying a gun on a routine enquiry anyway.
The writing is clichéd and some of the dialogue is pathetic. I felt sorry for the actors who had to deliver it but hopefully they all had a nice pay day.
And that leaves Patsy Kensit. She has a strange role that tries to pull it all together and give the story meaning but she doesn't pull it off. The blurb say 4 old SAS soldiers get together but the lead goodies clearly says he was in the Royal Anglian and wears their beret. Such inaccuracy in the trailer info says it all.
Very disappointed.

Yeah, it's bloody awful, on so many levels.
Nick Moran was kinda ok, overall but still 5/10 level, due to the script/plot.
Every dialog was like a knife into my heart - you could not feel more like... you know what - I don't have the vocabulary to describe how cliche every little bit of it was.
I understand some fandom for B movies, this is not B for me, C/D at best.
YET (surprisingly!) I gave it 2/10 and not 1/10 simply because I watched all of ity, still, somehow, wanting to see how it ends and the production was ok-ish, to some extent.
I lost respect to any actors involved though and will never, ever understand that atrocity of the police woman - where the hell did they find her? She could not possibly have been accepted to the police force with that duck-bill of lips. That was so ugly and unreal, I had to look away from the screen in all scenes she was in, otherwise I'd have had bad nightmares.
Yet again, just because of her and incredibly awful speaking parts/cliched dialogues for all characters, I want to show it to people, to have a drunken night in to piss ourselves with laughter. This alone deserves an extra point, so 2/10 it is!
Bloody hell, that image of her (police officer) is =wedged into my brain now and it is very hard to get rid of!

Unstylised, dreadful editing, out of sync shoddy sound effects and unmemorable music gave this souped up sweeny the feel its budget was about £10.89p The whole thing was uncomplimentary; the thugs were made to be remedials. Thick as planks. Thugs in Heat or Narcos are given intelligence because it raises the stakes and give us intrigue. The script was boring and predictable; I was honestly guessing correctly was the next line was throughout.
This lot could have been taken from the bullies at my secondary school in 1978, not one charismatic among them. Even the fights were crude at best like they were slapped together after 8 pints of lager. To me the whole film looked like it was made by a bunch of drunks from start to finish. The saving grace were the night shots across London which looked good.

This film came as close to me giving a film 1/10 as I've ever been, it's truly appalling. The writing is truly terrible and people who produce this standard of story content have no business writing anything. They clearly are just not ready or talented enough to produce anything for public consumption.
I would be hard pressed to let friends or family litmus test anything this bad, and I'm not saying this to be cute. The writing is simply atrocious, and but for the standards that have slithered below sea level in the past few years as independant films become more easily and cheaply produced, this film would never have been made.
However! Even the writing bad as it is cannot compete with the direction which defines a new level in incompetence and ineptitude. It's actually quite something that direction can be so misguided that it can even make reasonably competent actors look like they're performing in their first grade school play.
There is little point in going into detail on any other aspect of the film since the fundamentals are so underwhelming, but suffice to say, this films stinks.
I know people tend to say flippant things like 'worst film I've ever watched' etc, with movies they dislike and I can for once understand the sentiment. Truthfully, I've seen many worse films, but this IS the worst film I've seen in 2022 which is some accolade.

Hard to believe that this film actually got made, to be honest.
Paul Barber - Denzil from Only Fools - must be desperate for money, but surely there must be better work than this?
There's Patsy Kensit, whose replacement top set of teeth are SO big they actually change the shape of her face, and make her struggle with speech.
There's some lump pretending to be a police inspector with lips pumped up so much she looks like she's purely there to add a comedic element. Makes me think of a sink plunger. She too really struggles to get coherent words out and her ginormous rear end, sad to say, restricts her getting in and out of police vehicles.
Then there's the godawful 'song' playing all through the film. Repetitive, mindless nonsense. And the allusion to a sequel!! 🤦
To top it all off there's 75 year old Stephanie Beacham as a police chief!
If this film is really the best we Brits can do we seriously want to give up now!

Right, well I have to say that I wasn't really expecting a whole lot from the 2022 action crime thriller "Renegades" as I sat down to watch it. But I figured that with the rather interesting cast ensemble that was in the movie, then there might actually be a chance that this could turn out as a good movie.
And I have to say that writers Tom Jolliffe and Jonathan Sothcott definitely were on to something here with the script that they had put together for director Daniel Zirilli to bring to the screen. But it was just a shame that director Daniel Zirilli botched the opportunity that was readily served at his disposal.
The storyline had some good aspects to it, but the movie felt clumsy and sluggish. It was partly an insanely wooden, rigid and awkward dialogue that was shunting the movie's momentum. Well, that and also the fact that the action sequences didn't really feel particularly dynamic and fluid.
I was especially taken aback with the delivery of the dialogue and the general lack of enthusiasm, commitment and commitment from the cast in general. It just took away so much from the movie. It was as if the actors themselves didn't buy into the subpar script they had to work with.
"Renegades" definitely had a great cast ensemble, with the likes of Lee Majors, Michael Paré, Louis Mandylor, Nick Moran, Tom Lister Jr., Ian Ogilvy and Danny Trejo on the cast list. Of all these talents, it felt like only Lee Majors and Louis Mandylor were actively putting in an effort into their characters and trying to make something of the movie. Personally I don't understand why they opt to put the surgically altered and silicone enhanced performers in movies, and there was one such individual in this movie here, and the alterations done to her face just ruined every scene that she was in, because it was so difficult to take her serious as an officer of the police force.
The action sequences in the movie weren't particularly exciting. And an action crime thriller should be packed with thrilling and adrenaline-packed action sequences. Sadly such things were not present in "Renegades". Sure, there were some action sequences, but they were pretty much ruined by some dubious special effects for the shots from weapon, explosions and such.
For an action crime thriller then "Renegades" was a flaccid addition to the genre. The movie brought nothing new to the genre, nor was it particularly outstanding or thrilling. So it was a rather bland and mediocre viewing experience to sit through. I did manage to sit through the entire movie, but believe you me when I say that I am never returning to watch "Renegades" a second time.
My rating of director Daniel Zirilli's 2022 action crime thriller "Renegades" lands on a three out of ten stars.

A badly acted badly directed British attempt to make an Expendables/Red type film. A total failure on all fronts. Nick Moran is particularly bad.
Don't waste your time and money...
Ian Ogilvy was superb in we still kill the old way...but this really must just have been a pension booster for him.
Patsy Kensitt is still gorgeous though and not a sign of any "work" ...same can't be said for the other two main female characters.
I was looking forward to this and was completely diisappointed...poor old Denzil completely out of his depth.
And why did it portray a London that is apparently under the control of the US agencies.... CIA , Homeland security.

This film comes off the back of 'We Still Kill The Old Way' and.'We Still Steal The Old Way' both are a tongue in cheek romp with action characters from the 80's and 90's and sets them against current baddies!
These films are not competing against Hollywood blockbusters, they have been put together for a bit of fun and a touch of nostalgia.
They are a bit of 'silly fun' for both the makers and those who watch and hopefully enjoy it for what it is.
Normally I would have given this sort of film a 6 or 7 because it achieves what it sets out to achieve but was so disappointed that so many missed the point I gave it too marks.

To be fully transparent Renegades caught my attention because of the nostalgic feeling I have over my love of The Six Million Dollar Man television series from the early 1970's. That showed starred legendary, Lee Majors, now 83 years old and prominently featured in this film. I didn't expect much more than a chance to be returned to my youth, but for a brief moment in time, to reminisce about how much that show meant to me.
To my surprise this small film was very enjoyable. I found myself engaged from the first moment and, despite some shortcomings, entertained throughout.
The story is a simple one- A group of retired Special Forces brothers seek to avenge the murder of their commander, who happens to be played by Lee Majors. While their passions are inflamed as they go against a Drug Syndicate, lead by the brutal, Louis Mandylor, the must face the fact that they are no longer youthful, vigorous soldiers. They are aging civilians. This does not deter them from their mission, and thank goodness for that, because these issues really create the strength of the film.
There are elements and influences of other movies here, such as the wildly popular, big budget Expendables movie series. However, this movie understands that it is not a big budget action film with a cast of, albeit past their prime, "A" list action stars. This comfortable sense of self is part of the film's charm. It is not looking to compete with a Blockbuster franchise.
Additionally, I couldn't help but feel the influence of Jesse V. Johnson, one of the great independent action Directors of the modern era. In fact, Mandylor, Michael Pare, and the film's star, Nick Moran, have all had significant roles in Johnson's action films. Additionally, the use of violence and well timed humor all are reminiscent of Johnson's work.
I think the real strength of Renegades is the chemistry of the main characters. Moran, Ian Ogilvy, Billy Murray, and Paul Barber make up the core of the geriatric vigilante band of brothers, that embark on this unlikely mission. They are very believable in their roles, including the action and the violence as it plays out throughout the climax of the film. Most significantly; despite their shortcomings, they are infinitely likable and fun to watch.
As for Louis Mandylor, he can always be expected to bring something compelling to the screen, and he always manages to make every scene he is in fun for the viewer to watch. I enjoyed him in this one very much.
The remainder of the cast, including Patsy Kensit as Majors' daughter, Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott as a Scotland Yard Detective, and Danny Trejo as an intelligence officer contribute nicely to the production.
The film is low budget. This is evident, but not terminal in the fighting and explosive effects, and the minimalism of the sets. However, good movies are about good storytelling and acting and this movie more than makes up for its shortcomings in that regard.
Renegades is good time. I recommend it highly.

Greetings, friends,
Some soldier is murdered by a gang, and, an old school SAS force seeks revenge. Not very original but that's not the main issues with this "movie".
You'd think the director was asleep through most of the movie. The production team were greenfield, and most of all, there are recognised actors involved that, in my opinion, were swindled by someone trying to make this movie initialise. It reminds me of the Faye festival that con Billy Mcfaralnd promoted. In an analogy, they have a lot in common... Nothing really exciting happens; no one turns up to the show in terms of acting; it's not winning many awards.
Indeed this is a crap show of a movie. Someone really sold someone a dream which was a nightmare!

A movie with weak actors.
Very weak action scenes.
The dead side is blinking.
The severed finger of the actor is clearly visible in the bandage.
The direction of the film is incredibly poor and the special effects and mistakes of the actors are not paid attention to at all.
A policewoman who looks like a club-dancer rather than a policewoman.
It's like someone wanted to produce a movie as a family and found a good person, gave the budget to make it, and doesn't care about the end.
When we watch the movie, we cannot be attracted to the movie as an action movie because of the number of mistakes in it.
In short, awful in every sense.
I don't think it's even worth watching.

I only watched this movie to see what became of Lee Majors, that I used to watch when I was a kid, in The Fall Guy and The Six Million Dollar Man, two immensely popular series when I was young. I wondered what character he would play as an 83 years old actor. Not a very plausable one to be honest, a retired veteran that still thinks he can kick some a##. Like his old colleagues in this movie they're going on a revenge expedition, it's more laughable than anything else. Danny Trejo and Lee Majors have very small roles, their names were just been used to fill the movie poster and attract people to watch this mediocre movie. The acting is far below average, almost painful to watch. The producer or whoever does the casting must have a weak spot for women that had plastic surgeries as almost every actress in Renegades looked like an abomination. Unbelievable what women (and some men) are capable to do to look younger. A mission that 90% of the time is doomed to fail. There are so many examples now of failed procedures that you would think plastic surgery is a dying business but people continue to have body transformations in the hope of having that everlasting young look and instead they look atrocious. In Renegades there are plenty examples of surgeries gone wrong. Those actresses are now doomed to play in these kind of movies, b-movies or in this case z-movies as it's that bad. The producer was probably looking for cheap actresses as I can't see any of those actresses playing in a decent movie in the future, so the only roles they will get are in very low quality movies like this one.

The entire production felt geriatric; from the cliched 80's story, to the cheesy dated dialogue and poor attempts at humor. The directing by seasoned director Daniel Zirilli was horrid and very amateurish. I've seen better directing from first-time filmmakers. The entire film had zero urgency and just trotted along from scene to scene - of which also had terrible transitions from just as bad editing. The score was just too constant and annoying. You'd think having two writers at least one could come up with something original and unexpected, but instead, it was all cliched, done many times before - much better, and fully predictable. At least the cast actually seemed like they were enjoying themselves constantly downing pints, and hopefully Majors and Trejo at least got a free trip to the UK for this underwhelming production. However some of the secondary cast did seem like they needed better cast-direction, of which Zirilli failed to give. And Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott as detective Moore needs to chill with the duck-lips botox, that's just cringe to look at. It was also funny to see Tom Lister Jr. Literally call his lines in. You wont miss anything passing on this film, even if you're a fan of Trejo, Majors or Mandylor.

Stock footage, stock effects, soundtrack made by a five year old, god awful sound.....I'm guessing the actors are desperate for work. Why these group of old school actors signed up for this I can only imagine the producers had something on them....quite sad.
I'm guessing the FX department consisted of an intern who just watched 3 "How to use After Effects for Beginners" videos on YouTube, probably the score writers mate.
The cinematography seemed to be the only professional outfit employed as some of it did look good....and then you'd get the stock footage, guessing budget ran out.
Story made little sense but then again I suppose it didn't need to but at least try to add some tension, some pace some decent dialogue....oh my god the dialogue....how the actors stood for it i have no idea, they must have been getting paid well.
Kept getting distracted by the detectives lips...im guessing they needed the sponsorship money from Polyfiller?
And if the producers are suggesting at the end that there's any chance of a sequel, please re-think, put the bottle down and re-think!
Don't bother, there's really no need for this level of awfulness.

This is one of the most appalling films I have ever seen. It makes 'The Room' look Oscar worthy.
The Acting, script, storyline, direction, cinematography and even the score are comically bad. A particular highlight was the song I assume is called 'Renegades'. You have to hear it to believe something could be that awful.
The 'eye candy' in the film consists of Jeanine Nerissa Sothcott, a women who clearly doesn't mind going under the knife, resembling somewhere between a low end real doll and 'the child catcher' from 'Chitty-Chitty bang bang', then an aged Patsy Kensit back in front of the camera and showing her truly astonishing acting skills.
The writer and director left an open ending which shows not only are they talentless, they are deluded enough to think people would want a sequel.
Who are you people writing positive reviews? I can only assume you are on the windup.
I will give it 1/10 because I watched the whole thing, laughing my head off at how shockingly bad the entire thing is.
Nearly forgot to mention the bloke from only fools and horses. The scene where he pretends to be a wino is something to be beheld.

Before I thought about writing this review I thought I'd check out the others that had been written previously, true to form the majority were riddled with negatives and didn't quite get the point of the movie!
If I said to anyone who reads this, think The Sea Wolves meets The Wild Geese, and when you watch the movie and hear the names of the characters being mentioned like Burton, Peck and Harris then hopefully you will get the idea that the makers of this tidy little gem were aiming for, in essence a loving tribute to those old school action movies from the 70's and early 80's.
This being fledgling production company Shogun Films second full length feature after Nemesis, they truly upped their aspirations with aplomb.
The cast list alone was enough to garner my attention, with the likes of Louis Mandylor on barnstorming form as Goram, the gang leader who who every nerve is tested when things don't quite go to plan in his adoptive town.
The movie itself starts out with Nick Moran as Burton down on his luck with a story to tell, living rough and reliving a certain nightmare from his SAS years, upon reconnecting with an old comrade, Carver played by the still velvet smooth Lee Majors, just when things might be in the up for Burton, the cards come tumbling down and what ensues is a an action packed and at times quite breathless execution of events.
In order to restore peace in good old London Town, Burton along with his former brothers in arms must decide if they blend into the background or fight for their right to live as free men but also discover who murdered one of their own.
Directed with breakneck style by Daniel Zirilli who also puts in a cameo here, I won't say what his role his but it's a delight to see him on screen plus he also co wrote the theme song Renegades too.
If I didn't mention already beyond Nick Moran who shines so bright in this , the supporting cast includes some sterling turns, look out for Billy Murray as Woody, wearing his eye patch and brandishing a crossbow, he clearly was having a ball here, Paul Barber as Harris, Ian Ogilvy as Peck.
Lending some Hollywood power to the proceedings we also get further legends like Michael Pare, Danny Trejo and the late great Tom Tiny Lister.
The ending promises a potential sequel for the seasoned renegades and I for one would certainly get in line to see it.
Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
A solid 10/10.

You know when a film is so bad it becomes a cult classic. This is one of these films!
The main woman detective has had so much plastic surgery she has trouble speaking. You have to watch it to believe it. She has trouble moving her face it is so tight her words are priceless. But it gets better than this.
Most of the main women in this film have had more than enough plastic surgery for the entire neighbourhood of Hollywood. It is priceless. They have trouble showing their emotions because they cannot move.
The special affects were done on a 128K spectrum. I remember it well. The story is worth watching though just for the humour. I am sure it is meant to be serious but you will be laughing all the way through this film.
A cult classic, by mistake.

Imagine the actors are reading the script off the nearest available forehead/wall/carpet and you're close to finding out how wooden the acting is. Terrible background music that couldn't stir water, let alone the blood and the plot is woeful. I just wish that someone would come up with a half decent plot that isn't as predictable and stale as this particular effort and whoever commissioned it needs to have a long hard look in the mirror about the future of British action films. I've given it 2 stars because my childhood hero is in it although even his bionic arm has now begun to rust enough to fit in with the other awful actors.
Wow, it's like a bunch of B, C and D list actors got together and said "let's make a movie".
It's Hilarious. You can't look away. Everything about this movie is just bad.
Beginning with the laughable script. Then there's the cinematography, or lack thereof. The lighting is unbelievably crappy. At one point, you literally see the art light shining film blast through the car window And the sound is all over the place and we won't even talk about the editing.
Then you have characters pop up out of nowhere, have a little cameo, then disappear, never to be seen again. Then it turns into "Charlie's Angel's" at the end. Oh, and the Neverending music is simply dreadful.
Then the color correction. Wow. Having done color myself, I know there's a "beauty" plugin. Someone used the "ugly" plugin, that enhances the deep creases in everybodies faces, avs makes them look dreadful.

Don't get me wrong it's still a bad movie .. but it was nice to see the 6 million dollar man .. Lee Majors again .. I thought he was dead 🤣 and a you gotta love Danny Trejo ... and back in the day I had a crush on Patsy Kensit .. from Lethal Weapon.. so I can overlook how bad it was. Really bad special effects .. although the cinematography wasn't that bad .. the acting was really bad .. it was painful to watch some of the older actors trying to run and do fight scenes.. it was kind of comical .. I sill managed to make it through the whole movie and didn't consider it a total waste of my time.
