“I think what’s kind of fun is that she comes in and she’s almost flirty with him,” Cox told TheWrap of the cat-and-mouse dynamic between Nyla and her suspect. “Fringe” and “Big Sky” actor Seth Gabel steps in as the vending machine supplier, Glasser, who catches Nyla’s eye as the prime suspect during her investigation.

“The Night Agent” has returned with many new faces. Now that Peter Sutherland is officially a night agent, he must take on a new conspiracy mission with a new team.

Gabriel Basso will pick up the action, starring as Peter, and Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose. Though the couple ended their relationship at the end of Season 1, when Rose hears Peter is in trouble, she jumps at the opportunity to rekindle their relationship.

Because this season follows Peter on a new mission, several members of the original cast will not be back for Season 2, though, including Hong Chau and Robert Patrick.

Kingston Rumi Southwick, Ella Victoria, Megan Peta Hill, and Alfredo Narciso have all joined the series, which is now titled “Obsession.” Exact character details are being kept under wraps, but Hill and Narciso will appear in recurring guest star roles while Victoria and Southwick will be guest stars.

They will appear alongside previously announced main cast members Dove Cameron, Avan Jogia, Dorian Missick, and Karla Souza. Recurring guest stars include Kira Guloien, Celeste Oliva, Jesse James Keitel, Matt Murray, and Patch Darragh.

The official description for “Obession” states that it “follows Oliver (Jogia) and Ciara (Cameron), who, after meeting randomly in a supermarket, fall for each other fast, and dangerously hard. Fifty-six days later, homicide investigators arrive at Oliver’s apartment to find an unidentified body—brutally murdered and intentionally decomposed.

As an actor, Jensen Ackles is incredibly recognizable, most notably for his performances in many long-running television series. After two episodes of Happy's Place, there is not much romance in the show, but Reba McEntire's connection to one costar suggests there is hope for the two characters to get together. In the premiere, McEntire's Bobbie was blindsided by the reveal that she had a half-sister (Isabella). Not only did she learn of Isabella's existence, but Bobbie also discovered that their father gave 50 percent ownership of his bar to Isabella in his will.

So, Bobbie has a lot going on. Nevertheless, the few scenes between Bobbie and Emmett imply that their dynamic could turn romantic. Emmett is Happy's Place's resident chef, who is gruff, quiet, and prefers to be left alone, but he also serves as Bobbie's confidant. McEntire's character goes to Emmett when she is frustrated and needs to let out a little steam.

Passions and The Young and the Restless alum Justin Hartley finished the first season of his missing person drama, Tracker, with a second season renewal and bragging rights as the number one non-sports show of the 2023-2024 broadcast season. Now he’s back with season two, and he’s already bringing back some of the guest stars he relied on last season. Yes, that means Days of Our Lives alum Jensen Ackles and Hartley’s real-life wife, Sofia Pernas, are back.

Over the course of 10 days, Ryan Murphy released four new shows — “American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez” and “Grotesquerie” at FX, “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” at Netflix and “Doctor Odyssey” at ABC — and premiered new seasons of returning hits “9-1-1: Lone Star” at Fox and “9-1-1” at ABC.

“Six shows in a month is a lot, but everybody in my company worked really, really hard, and miraculously, they all worked,” Murphy told Variety during a conversation on Oct. 1. “They all launched at No. 1 and individually, they’re all doing really, really well.”

Everything coming out at once “wasn’t really planned that way,” Murphy said, but happened as part of his new deal at Disney, which he’s a year and a half into.

The viewership numbers for his buzzy Netflix series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” are very good. In its second week of eligibility, the true crime drama created by Murphy and Brad Falchuk secured 19.5 million views on Netflix, holding on to the No. 1 English-language TV series from last week and becoming the most watched Netflix title of the week. This comes after the second season of the crime series saw 12.3 million views in its first four days of availability.

Who doesn’t love a soap opera? Minute for minute this fantastic genre is packed with enough drama, emotion, surprise, and angst to fuel decades of daytime shows that cater to loyal fans.

The series premiere of “High Potential” saw a 220% audience increase after three days of multiplatform viewing.

The initial telecast hit an average 3.6 million viewers on ABC on Sept. 17, according to Live + Same Day data from Nielsen. But when accounting for Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms, that number rose to 11.5 million viewers. And in rating among adults age 18-49, after starting out with a 0.35, the episode jumped 354% to a Multiplatform + 3 rating of 1.59.

Additionally, the 18-49 rating excluding linear encores hit 1.31 after three days — the highest for an ABC drama series premiere since the launch of “Big Sky” in November 2020. “High Potential” has also hit Hulu’s Top 15 chart, and took the No. 1 position for three days in a row beginning on Sept. 22. During a panel discussion with reporters on Thursday, NCIS: Origins co-showrunner David J. North confirmed that Harmon — the longtime portrayer of NCIS‘ Leroy Jethro Gibbs — will briefly appear on screen during Origins‘ pilot episode.

Reba McEntire returns to the comedy scene with a bang, reuniting with two of her former co-stars in the brand-new NBC sitcom, Happy's Place. Set in Knoxville, Tennessee, the heartwarming comedy follows Bobbie (played by McEntire) as her life is uprooted when her father, Happy, passes away, leading to the discovery that half of the tavern she's been running for 10 years now belongs to the sister she never knew she had.

David E. Kelley, the acclaimed writer and producer behind such hits as “The Practice,” “Big Little Lies” and “Ally McBeal,” will be awarded the 2024 International Emmy Founders Award. The black tie gala will take place on Nov. 25 in New York City.
