San Francisco, June 13 (Ians) As Apple iPadOS 15 is gaining almost all of the new features that were introduced in iOS 15, there are also several updates that Apple introduced that are designed exclusively for the larger screen of the iPad or have been adopted from iOS 14.
Widgets can now be placed anywhere on the iPad's Home Screen, and technically this doesn't count as an iPadOS feature because it's something that Apple is bringing over from iOS, reports MacRumors.
In iPadOS 14, users could have a set spot for your widgets, but with iPadOS 15, one can put them anywhere, just like you can on the iPhone.
App Library is another new feature that was introduced on the iPhone first and it's a useful change that lets you see and manage all of the apps you have installed on your iPad in one spot.
Multitasking is an iPad exclusive and it's been improved...

Covid-19 took a lot from our summer, but Big Brother luckily was not one of those things.
CBS has even made things better for us by giving us the All-Stars season we have been asking for for years.
In Big Brother Season 22 Episode 1, we got 16 returning houseguests, some All-Stars and some questionable.
The houseguests entered in groups of four. Our first cohort:
Nicole Franzel – BB16 and BB18 (winner) Dani Briones (née Donato) – BB8 (runner-up) and BB13 Da’Vonne Rogers - BB17 and BB18 Christmas Abbott – BB19 (Final 3)
Nicole and Dani are absolutely All-Stars. Seeing them return makes total sense. Dani and her dad, Evel Dick, made it all the way to final two in season eight. They were an unstoppable team, no matter how much Ed terrorized the house.
I really don’t think I get enough credit for my win on Big Brother 18.

The holidays are here, and in between the cookies and presents we’re all going to want one thing: some good (and not so good) TV.
With Christmas and Hanukkah just a few sleeps away, we’ve gathered all the TV show and movie marathons over the weekend so you can enjoy your favorite shows and movies during downtime.
As is the annual tradition, A Christmas Story will play on repeatedly Dec. 24–25 so you’ll never miss a beat of little Ralphie’s quest for a Red Ryder B.B. gun. For those who prefer to watch their usual TV shows,...

Award-winning romantic epic The Outlaw (Lope) will be released on DVD on 17th October, spanning the life, loves and works of Lope De Vega, one of the key figures in Spanish Baroque literature, second only to Cervantes. This beautiful film will enthrall fans of Cyrano De Bergerac and Shakespeare in Love. We have 3 copies of the DVD to give away.
16th Century Spain. Gifted young playwright Lope de Vega returns to Madrid from the war filled with ambition, eager to live, to write, to make his dreams a reality. Penniless, he is forced to work as a humble copyist. Lope falls for Elena, his boss’s ravishing daughter. Her well-connected father, who runs the most successful theatre troupe in the city, would never approve of the liaison, so the affair is kept secret. But Elena has another secret: she’s already married. When Lope finds out, he asks her to...

The 61st edition of Berlinale kicked off late last week, and with the inclusion of four spanish films, four less than the last year. The already well known “También La Lluvia” (“Even The Rain”) by Icíar Bollaín, “Amador” by Fernando León de Aranoa and “Medianeras” by Gustavo Taretto, all presented out of competition at the panorama section. The fourth film, “Escuchando Al Juez Garzón”, by cult filmmaker Isabel Coixet (“My Life Without Me”) is a documentary shot on black and white based on a popular figure in a Spanish judge -- this will be showcased at Specials section of the Berlinale. Although we have covered before films like “También La Lluvia” and “Amador”, the film “Medianeras” comes from out of nowhere. Directed by Argentinian Gustavo Taretto, this is an adaptation of its 2005 short film of the same title that won over forty international awards. This coproduction between Spain and Argentina...

2010 was the weakest year at the Spanish box office in a decade – proof that the films with the most box office potential fell flat. Actually, very few have performed decently. Ironically the biggest flops and the most coldly received by critics films are the ones top lining the nominations for this year's Spanish Academy Awards, the Goyas. Alex de la Iglesia's “Balada Triste de Trompeta” gathered 15 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actor (Antonio De La Torre), Best Supporting Actress (Terele Pávez) and Best Newcomer Actress (Carolina Bang). “Pan Nere” follows with 14 nominations, the surprise hit by Agustí Villaronga will compete for Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Sergi López), Best Actress (Nora Navas), Best Newcomer Actor (Francesc Colomer) and Best Supporting Actress (Laia Marull). Following Agustí Villaronga's film we find “También la Lluvia” by Icíar Bollaín with 13 nominations fighting for Best Film,...

Damsels in Distress
Opens: 2011
Cast: Adam Brody, Analeigh Tipton, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Ryan Metcalf
Director: Whit Stillman
Summary: The story revolves around a group of style-obsessed college girls who take in a new student (Gerwig) and teach her their misguided ways of helping people at their grungy university.
Analysis: The first film in a decade from arthouse darling Whit Stillman, a filmmaker's filmmaker whose three Manhattan-based, yuppie-themed mannerist comedies - "Metropolitan," "Barcelona" and "The Last Days of Disco" - were a big influence on the likes of auteurs such as Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach. Stillman says this film varies somewhat from his previous trilogy of sorts, telling First Things that "This film is different, Completely different. Okay, not completely different, but it’s different".
Independently financed by Castle Rock CEO Martin Shafer, the project recently wrapped filming in Manhattan where Stillman returned to last year after having spent much...

Vitagraph Films, a film distributor that services only one to a trio of titles per year, have made the rare pick-up. Following last year's purchase of Germany's The Baader Meinhof Complex, the company have grabbed yet another Foreign Oscar hopeful for a theatrical release sometime next year -- as Spain's Even The Rain will only play in it's host country in January. The film had to beat out other hopefuls such as Daniel Monzón's Celda 211 and Andrucha Waddington's Lope for the country's nomination (worth noting, Luis Tosar star of Even the Rain appeared in all three nominated films) and will now have to go through the two step nomination process for the Oscars: where a longlist is made into a shortlist. Icíar Bollaín directed Tosar in the dark relationship drama, Take My Eyes. Bollaín's Even The Rain, a.k.a “También la Lluvia” was recently presented at...

Madrid -- The Spanish Film Academy has shortlisted Daniel Monzon's prison drama "Cell 211," Andrucha Waddington's bio-drama "Lope" and Iciar Bollain's drama "Even the Rain" as contenders for Spain's bid for an Oscar. The final decision will be announced Sept. 28.
The shortlist highlights two trends in Spain's film industry: the role of television broadcasters in financing marketable products and the draw of actor Luis Tosar.
Tosar toplines all three films, playing a broad range of characters from prison rebellion leader to bristly-but-kind priest to movie producer.
"They are three totally different films and it's a coincidence that I'm in all three," Tosar said. "I feel very lucky, but there's a long road a head and I don't really know what the Hollywood academy values. It used to be more predictable, but now it's surprising."
What clearly seems not to be a coincidence is that each of the finalists is...

Principal photography began on 23-f - the latest feature by Sud Express director Chema de la Peña. Produced by the production company Lazona (Concursante), the film will be the first cinematographic reinterpretation of the coup d´état that took place in Madrid February 23rd 1981. Paco Tous (Alatriste) will play famous Lieutenant Coronel Antonio Tejero, the mastermind behind the event, Juan Diego (Lope) will play General Armada and the quite busy Fernando Cayo (The Orphanage and Pedro Almodóvar's The Skin I Live In) will play Spain's King Juan Carlos I. The film will be the chronological re-telling of the seventeen hours of the vent that marked history. The film will premiere in Spain February 23rd 2011, coinciding with the 30º anniversary of such historical moment. The organizers at the Toronto International Film Festival have put together one hell of an impressive line-up that has grown significantly since my first list announcing the Galas and Special Presentations, a pair of lists that have also grown since then.
The lists have grown to include Massy Tadjedin's Last Night starring Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes and Guillaume Canet, which will serve as the closing night film.
It's also grown to include Danny Boyle's 127 Hours starring James Franco. Boyle recently spoke about the film at Movie Con and told the audience there it may be a challenge to watch saying, "It's a lovely way of doing a new kind of filmmaking, really. We want it to be a challenge to you [the audience] to see if you can sit and watch it."

The full lineup for this year's Venice film festival has been announced – but there's a no show for the new Terrence Malick
The full programme for this year's Venice film festival has been announced and, as predicted, many film-makers whose films weren't quite ready for Cannes will debut on the Lido. Somewhere, a Hollywood-set drama from Sofia Coppola, is amongst the premieres, likewise Vincent Gallo's Brown Bunny sequel, Promises Written in Water, apparently a black-and-white tale of a girl with a terminal illness.
Julian Schnabel's Miral, which follows Hind Husseini's efforts to set up an orphanage in Jerusalem after the 1948 partition of Palestine, also finds a home. However, Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life, which many had predicted would screen at the festival, is not on the list; nor that for the Toronto film festival, which directly follows Venice.
Other hotly tipped titles include Meek's Cutoff, Kelly Reichardt...

The Afflecks will celebrate on the Lido together - both actor-turned-directors are featured in the Out of Competition line-up (see below) and will surely jet back to Tiff together with The Town and the Phoenix doc - though those chances are indeed slim. Speaking of Toronto, the Ooc also features Anurag Kashyap's That Girl in Yellow Boots and Andrucha Waddington's Lope (Tiff claims they have the World Premiere, but I think we might see a correction on that later on). Takashi Miike gets celebrated, so does Asian 3D films, and John Turturro feels at home with his first Italian language docu feature. Finally, the Golden Lion for his career will go to John Woo - who is presenting Reign of Assassin. This morning the Venice Film Festival announced the line-up for their 2010 Festival which will run from September 1-11, and a lot of hot titles and directors are set to be on hand including the already announced festival opener Black Swan from Darren Aronofsky and closer, The Tempest from Julie Taymor. In competition, Aronofsky's feature is joined by titles from Sofia Coppola, Vincent Gallo, Julian Schnabel, Francois Ozon, Abdellatif Kechiche, Takashi Miike and Tom Tykwer. Also, making a midnight Lido appearance will be Robert Rodriguez with his grindhouse thriller Machete. One other notable title is the inclusion of the Casey Affleck-directed Joaquin Phoenix mockumentary I'm Still Here, which will be screening out of competition.

Rome -- Sofia Coppola's comedic drama "Somewhere" and "Road to Nowhere," a romantic thriller from veteran director Monte Hellman, were among the highlights of the main competition lineup for the 67th Venice Film Festival, which was released Thursday.
Other in-competition films include Vincent Gallo's "Promises Written in Water"; "Meek's Cutoff," a western from Kelly Reichardt; and Athina Racehel Tsangari's drama "Attenberg."
Artistic director Marco Mueller said that -- notwithstanding the presence of the 78-year-old Hellman -- the competition lineup was the youngest ever in the storied history of the festival, with the average age among the directors of the 22 in-competition films just 47.
"I think this is evidence of a new and dynamic kind of cinema that is being produced," Mueller told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters and industry players at Rome's Excelsior Hotel Thursday.

The 35th annual Toronto International Film Festival kicks off shortly and 51 of the major titles to screen at the eleven day event have just been announced.
Sundance and Cannes this year had a few bright spots amidst otherwise bland looking line-ups, Toronto however has the opposite situation with only a few weak entries amongst an extremely strong array of films.
Here's the full list of what's set to screen - makes me wish I could be there to cover it.
North American Premieres:
• Richard J. Lewis' "Barney's Version"
• Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan"
• John Madden's "The Debt"
• Im Sang-Soo's "The Housemaid"
• Tom Hooper's "The King's Speech"
• Francois Ozon's "Potiche"
• Ben Affleck's "The Town"
• Mike Leigh's "Another Year"
• Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger"
• Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's "Biutiful"

As a result of a bizarre 2009 production year, Tiff is the happy recipient of some premium titles which include the world premieres to some of my most anticipated films this year in: Mike Mill's Beginners, John Cameron Mitchell's Rabbit Hole, Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go, Andrucha Waddington's Lope and Rowan Joffe's Brighton Rock. Then we have titles that are coming from this year's Sundance, Cannes or both (Blue Valentine picks up the trifecta honor) and then we have titles that come to us from out of nowhere with Michael Winterbottom's The Trip and Richard Ayoade's debut film, Submarine. Here are the Special Presentation items revealed in today's presser. Note: In case you're wondering: that's Colin Firth from The King's Speech. The Toronto International Film Festival has announced its first batch of 2010 films today, adding 50 titles to the previously announced hockey musical opener [1]. There are a lot of great directors bringing their latest work to Toronto via the Galas and Special Presentations, with some buzz-worthy films carrying over from Cannes and Sundance, and essentially anything having a limited release in September seeming to slip in as well. Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan will have its North American premiere here after debuting in Venice a few weeks prior, while Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go gets a world premiere, along with Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden's It's Kind of a Funny Story starring Keir Gilchrist, Emma Roberts and Zach Galifianakis. Ben Affleck's The Town is also playing Tiff despite hitting theatres everywhere the same weekend, and Buried and Jack Goes Boating will both attempt to build on positive reviews from Sundance.

I love getting IndieWire’s Cannes Wish List. IndieWire's commentary on each film is interesting in and of itself. I find myself remarking "I didn't know that!" at every other entry. My former Tipped for Cannes Report (when FilmFinders was my company) was one of my most popular reports because film buyers and programmers could immediately hone in on their targets. So, in keeping with tradition, I pulled together the list Screen International (Si) and blogger ion (he did a lot of research for this!) published in February just after the Berlinale and am now going to compare it with Iw’s. My links for the title are to IMDbPro and for the contact either to the seller (Isa=International Sales Agent) or the producer.
After this, I will track which of these land in Cannes, which in Toronto, Venice, etc.; which get acquired by whom (to be gathered together...

Cannes announced 16 films in the Main Competition today and the Un Certain Regard is perhaps complete but could fit two more titles in, but as expected, Terrence Malick's film is still in limbo. Apart from that frustrating example, there are about three to five available slots in the Main Comp and some hefty titles that are missing in action. I've compiled a list below, but worth mentioning are blatant omissions such as Julian Schnabel's Miral, Kornel Mundruczo's Frankenstein Project, Ken Loach's Route Irish and perhaps even Bruce Robinson's The Rum Diary. - Cannes announced 16 films in the Main Competition today and the Un Certain Regard is perhaps complete but could fit two more titles in, but as expected, Terrence Malick's film is still in limbo. Ion Cinema has a bead on the Director's Fortnight line-up, including filmmakers Denis Villeneuve, Tran Anh Hung, Gilles Marchand, Lodge Kerrigan, Pernilla August, Marian Crisan, Gregg Araki, Lola Doillon, Agnes Kocsis and Julie Bertucelli. Ion also predicts for the official selection, Brazilian and Cannes vet Andrucha Waddington's Lope, "a chronicle of the life of Lope de Vega" with Sonia Braga and Alberto Ammann in the title role, and Gael García Bernal in Icíar Bollaín's Even the Rain, from Spain.
