This is a true story very well filmed in all aspects. Salgueiro Maia was the heroic army captain that commanded the military action during the revotion that overthrew the fascist regime in Portugal in April 1974, installing democracy. The movie shows it with gret realism and accuracy since the action itself to the further depreciative treatment he suffered from the public authorities of the new democratic regime. This is well shown by the several scenes of the movie.
This movie shows with great accuracy a more personal side of one of the most important figures of the portuguese democracy. All the scenes are very powerful and keep you imersed in all the plot, as well as Salgueiro Maia's feelings.
Also, as a portuguese citizen, the movie wasn't cringe or "strange" to hear - I think all the scenes were very natural.
I highly recommend!
