A beautiful film
This was another film I watched without knowing anything about it. The only star I knew from it was Jackie Weaver. It's a film about 2 people with learning disabilities who marry and have a baby, and the lives they all lead. Based on a true story.
It speaks volumes about the way our society sees each other. About what normal is and should be, and that just because you're seen to have a disability, doesn't mean you can't live a better life with someone considered not to have one.
There's a huge statement n here about people who wish to be what they consider to be normal and acceptable in society, and yet they seem to have the lives most flawed and unsatisfying.
It's beautifully written and flawlessly directed and I absolutely loved it.
Shipka who plays Bea absolutely rocks the role. I'll be looking for more from her. Dash Mihok and Samantha Hyde were way down the cast list and yet their performances were so strong throughout. Hyde was flawless.
Don't miss this.

Poetic Family Love
This movie is a cocktail of humor, deep feelings, anxiety, faith, romance and love. The acting of every single character is so convincing that you will instantly get absorbed into the story. The main topic is love, unconditional love. The movie breaks down existing stereotypes to show what really matters in this plane of existence. While money and good looks have always been overwhelmingly advertised in the film industry, here we are presented with two people who could be anyone's family member or neighbour. The couple is special in many different ways, primarily because they have managed to preserve their purity in a world which constantly pushes people to control one another for an hypothetical greater result. But guess what? We are all connected and in critical moments, when things get totally out of control, all we are left with is each other.

Coming of age movie with different challenges
Didn't know what to expect of this movie. The title sounds good and watched in on a plane. I was so pleasantly surprised with how good it is. It's not the usual challenges a teenager will face and the cast makes everything so believable. Great acting, good script and wonderful balance of family drama, emotions, comedy and a touch of romance. There are a few times I nearly tested up. The movie is well- paced and the comedy is good too as it keeps it light hearted amidst the sadness and fry you feel for the female lead in her challenges. Highly recommend to watch and it's watchable together with your family too.

Fouled Spark Plug
Good Enough
"Wildflower" is a movie based on a true story about family love and family dynamics.
The story starts kind of bumpy, but finds its rythm quickly, as it moves from the current timeline, in which Bea is in the hospital and her family along with a social worker are trying to piece together what happened, to the past as Bea herself narrates her life's story from her parents marriage to her birth, to her having to take care of them.
The movie overall is enjoyable and the pace of it was nicely handled, as to not confuse the viwer with the back and forths of the timeline. The performances were good as well.

A Funny Feel-Good Film!
Honestly I was surprised to see the rating on here, my friends and I thought this was a really sweet and enjoyable film. The cast works well together and there is consistent humour throughout. This is a heartwarming story about family, and if you're in the mood for a feel-good film I would recommend the watch!
It does contain some mature themes and language which means it's probably not best for young children, but I think the film handles these topics in a way that isn't gratuitous or inherently explicit. The film is not shying away from very real and human topics and I appreciate that they do not overly censor these issues, but at the same time it does not glorify them either. Wonderfully handled, tbh!

I cried 4 times ..... 10/10
I cried 4 times, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'll do it again in a heartbeat. I will absolutely be watching this movie again, but I probably won't need to anytime soon, because it's one of those that will stick with you for a while. This movie pulls on your heart strings, while giving you that warm fuzzy feeling with its heartfelt moments. The acting is great and the soundtrack is perfect. I found myself wanting to Shazam every other song. Don't be afraid to happy/sad/whatever you feel like cry because it will be worth it. To find out that this was based off a true story made it hit even harder! Do yourself a favor and watch it now :)

Really Good!
This was really good - just across the board good. And it's true - it's about a real family. It's very well done - we enjoyed it start to finish - but it does get better towards the end. Anyhow - excellent movie - amen. I hope more people review and bump up the ratings - because this is way better than it currently shows!!! It's sweet, it's fun, and again it's true - really enjoyed it. And that's about that. And now I'm rambling to hit my minimum character requirements - I really don't need to type 600 characters - to say whether or not I enjoyed a movie. But again - we really enjoyed this - lots of fun!
A heartfelt drama infused with the charm of teenage romantic comedy.
Upon viewing the movie trailer, my initial expectation was a comedy, and nothing beyond that. However, what I encountered exceeded my expectations by a substantial margin.
The acting was truly exceptional, and I found it impossible to harbor any dislike for any of the characters in the film. The reason I felt this way is because each character felt incredibly genuine, and each individual was left grappling with their own distinct challenges - whether they wanted to or not. Life essentially confronted nearly every character head-on, and you could sense it; not necessarily in a negative manner all of the time, but rather in a matter-of-fact way. Nearly all of the characters involved in the storyline found themselves compelled to undergo personal development in some way as a result.
This movie also has a "feel good" aspect to it, as much it has dramatic tones. This cinematic experience goes to show how strong the bond between a family can be when they undergo challenging situations. This motion picture takes love and contempt to such lengths that it challenges the boundaries of relationships to such extents, that it ultimately serves as a heartfelt reminder that reconciliation among friends, family, or even romantic love interests is often possible - even when it all seems too late.

of all the...
500 filmflowers ive seen till now this year this is the most beautiful wildflower of them all. Its also based on a true life story, and i should really like to see a decent documentary biographical styled film about beas life and family for real...
its a simple fact that western society never have cared too much for the ''special'', ''the slow'', and the idea of letting two slow grownups having a baby would be like swearing when doing the sacraments. This story shows something different than we usually sees on film, its in fact a story too good to be true...
but it is, and the cast and direction is heavily to blaim for that, the musical score and sets and decoration managements do uphold the beauty of the caracters of this film. And the choice of cast is really ingenious. Its a film about life, love, love and love, and the magics how to live out that life of a lovelife. Its laughter, its tears, its the values of friends and family, but most of all it is a film that brings and gives hope for everyone.
So if you wanna have a nice start on your weekend then bruise your wings over this swainsong of love, even a squirrel wouldve loved this one.a big recommend from the tearful and snotty happy( for them) grumpy old man. Bravissimo.

Story with Heart
I ended up watching this movie, in part because of the positive individual reviews I read here, which seemed much more enthusiastic that the 6 rating attached to the movie, and I'm so glad I did. This was an uplifting, emotional, and funny indie drama with an earnestness that I appreciate so much. I thought the script was really well-written, weaving a story through a complex set of conditions and emotions, giving the characters weight, and interest, and complexity. I was rooting for them, and frustrated with them, and feeling compassion for them, and understanding their humanity, all from moment to moment. The casting was superb, and the performances from everyone were so solid, particularly Shipka, who is an actor of great depth, and I can't wait to see her career grow over the years. So many moments made me feel, and it's one of my favorite movies of the last decade.
Beautiful and honest
What I loved about this film is the honesty and fearless attitude it portrayed. As a parent of a disabled person, it can feel like "can't, can't, can't" all the time, but that is a lie, and this film shows two very capable people who were lucky to have support that inspired them to "can." This film encourages while also educating others who might not know about the world of disability. The film isn't all about being disabled, but rather about every person's life challenges, and how each character relates to each other, ultimately using their shortcomings to create whole relationships and build each other up even more.

Beautiful family. Beautiful film
This is a beautiful film that shows what families can and should be to each other, no matter what their abilities are. It follows the story of Bea and her intellectually challenged parents Derek and Sharon as they raise her and she raises them. It is told from her in a coma which we learn right at the very beginning but we aren't sure why she's in a coma until the very end. It definitely deserves higher praise than a 6 point something as it shows the humanity and vulnerability of human nature and human love. Excellent cast. Excellent acting. Yes there is some typical teen drama and stereotypes but overlook those things and appreciate this film for what it is.
This movie was a whirlwind of emotions
Well Written and Excellent Performances
Told as a look back on our protagonists life, this narrative device can easily go wrong but it fits here. The amount of setup would be otherwise overwhelming. This allows a slow reveal as to who her parents are, who they are as people, refusing the help of their parents when taking help would be the easy path. It works well.
We skip quickly over her childhood and go straight towards her final high school years resulting in a heartwarming coming of age story.
That this is based on a true story adds all the more to the punch of what she has to overcome and the uniqueness of her struggle to achieve a normal life, where we discover together that normal is what you make it to be.
