The show was originally created by Rupert Bryan and Louisa Edwards. Rupert set off to create his own electric defender in 2016 when by pure chance he got talking with his Dominos pizza delivery driver who delivered pizza by night and electrified cars by day. Rupert visited Richard in Wales in 2017 and discovered the two car workshop at home. The rest as they said is history.
