The reason for this poor rating is entirely due to the fact that this film is promoted as a horror; when in fact it is not. A psychological drama, verging on thriller? Yes. But a horror? Absolutely not. I kept waiting for the horror, & it never arrived, despite a very intriguing, experimental opening scene & credits. I was really excited to see the horror unfurl, yet it never, ever came. A brief moment of violence right at the end does not, & never will, make this film into a horror. Very disappointing, as I was extremely excited to see this film; the concept is intriguing. I appreciate films with strong female leads, the setting was gorgeous, acting was superb but IT IS NOT A HORROR. Very annoying, very misleading, so I gave it a four.
Not the brightest screenplay. Poor dialogues and confusing elements all the way. There are references of 70s brazilian softporn movies and some of european art movies.
The characters don't have charisma although the actors played well. It's just poor written.
The sound (which shoud be the core of the movie) is really bad. Sometimes the characters can't be understood and for many of the spectators who suffers from tinittus, the sound effects doesn't make justice (learn from Sound of Metal (2019)).
It was a boring experience. Not an agonizing plot as I expected.
The positive things: the camera angles and the art direction.

And the socalled cricket thats playing his backleg fiddle in her tuba auditiva is just a squish of water that came through her ear/nose/troat ductus/tract, or in common language , she has water in her ear, due to her addictiveness to skydive 10 meter into clorinic water in tandem or synchronized fashion...
well my tinnitus is a 5572 hz buzz that competes and easily levels out my 2013 computer cooling fan, that is so noisy that my spouce cant concentrate when viewing films, well i hear them both and that is a roar i can tell...
the film is called tinnitus, why? Search me...but something isnt right about the girl, and something isnt right about this movie...cause apart from great camerahandling and angles, it feels like its done without both script nor screenplay. The director must be the kind of ''take a haul'' when he gets a bright idea, and leaves the rest to the editor on storytelling.
Its a erotic/romantic brazillian drama, completely without horror, so if youre a horror freak just forget it. If you love sao paulo, brazil, diving, and a whole lot of other nothingness, then go for tinnitus, not exactly a documentary on the diagnose, rather a story about how much background noise that surrounds our lives these days. A no recommend from the grumpy old man
well.

In essence, Tinnitus (2022) serves as the prime example to discourage people going to theater, instead one should watch such a movie on a preferable device to conveniently fast forward it. I just finished it before finishing up my dinner, I highly recommend you to do so to avoid completely wasting your time. This way you still have some time left to check out another movie, hopefully watchable.
I'm glad that I could use the arrow key on my keyboard to fast forward this movie, otherwise it would have been a chore to use something else. Thus I'm giving it one solid star based on this personal merit.
All in all, glad I've finished it in 15 minutes, I might consider to generously give one more star if it pays to watch, be warned.

Tinnitus is a 2022 Brazilian psychological thriller film directed by Gregorio Graziosi. The film stars Hermila Guedes as Marina, a synchronized diver who suffers from tinnitus, a condition that causes a constant ringing in the ears. As Marina's condition worsens, she begins to experience hallucinations and paranoia.
The film is marketed as a horror film, but I didn't find it to be very scary. The film is more of a psychological drama, with Marina's descent into madness being the main focus. There are some moments of suspense and horror, but they are few and far between.
I think the film would have been better if it had focused more on the psychological aspects of tinnitus. The film does a good job of showing how tinnitus can affect someone's mental health, but it doesn't go far enough. I would have liked to see more of Marina's inner turmoil and how she coped with her condition.
Overall, I thought Tinnitus was a decent film. It's not a great horror film, but it's a good psychological drama. If you're interested in films about mental illness, then I would recommend checking it out.
Here are some specific examples of how the film could have focused more on the psychological aspects of tinnitus:
The film could have shown more of Marina's hallucinations and paranoia. This would have helped the audience to understand how tinnitus can affect someone's mental health.
The film could have explored Marina's relationship with her family and friends. This would have shown how tinnitus can strain relationships.
The film could have shown Marina's attempts to cope with her condition. This would have shown how difficult it can be to live with tinnitus.
I think if the film had focused more on these aspects, it would have been a more powerful and disturbing film. However, as it is, Tinnitus is still a decent film that is worth a watch.
