This is one of those afterparty 2 AM "hey, let's all get high and make a movie" ideas. Normally everyone sobers up the next day and the idea is forgotten. Not this lot.
First they wrote the script:
An apartment. A guy is inside. The door is closed. Guy yells at door. The end.
Then they held a casting call:
"I put the people with talent in room A and everyone who couldn't act in room B." "Uh oh, I just sent everyone in room A home." "That leaves us with someone named Cowboy, a former Playboy Playmate with more miles on her than Greyhound, and a woman best filmed in a really dark hallway." "Good enough."
Then they chose a director:
"You do it!" "No, you do it!" "Fine, I'll do it. What's a director do anyway?"
Then they chose a location:
"I know an abandoned mental institution with a giant exhaust fan at the end of the hall." "Perfect!" "Really?"
Then they started filming:
"We only have the camera for one day. Everyone try to arrive by 9 AM." "And... cut! Good job everyone. Let's grab an early lunch."
Into the editing room:
"Uh oh, the video software license expired." "We only had just enough film anyway."
And release:
"How much do we have left over from the $1000 we raised?"
Unwatchable. Three stars.

I have to admit, I didn't watch this. I gave it the old college try, but after 15 min, depression set in, followed by regret, then the strong desire to drink coupled with thoughts of suicide.
That's how bad this movie was. I've seen movies with smaller budgets do better. Believe me, money wasn't the issue. You need a decent lead actor (box unchecked), A story that makes some sort of sense (box unchecked), a real producer, you know, one of them fancy college people (box unchecked), and maybe a plan. (box also unchecked) This movie didn't appear to have any of those. So many scenes in such a short period of time didn't make sense, it almost felt purposefully done. A weird disjointed "sex" scene. Crazy Bollywood ghost lady in the hallway, stereotypical black spec ops dude talking about getting laid as soon as he gets home. Whew, it got tiring real fast to the point where I simply had to turn it off. It seems Hollywood is churning out so much this garbage, I'm almost ready to do an Elvis Presley and put a bullet in the TV and take up knitting or quilt making.

Every once in a while, a movie comes along that is so bad, it literally is painful to watch. Project Legion is THAT kind of movie.
I actually forced myself to get through this pile of garbage (albeit in two separate sittings) just so I can see how bad it could get. And it spiraled downward into toilet level movie making. Project Legion is beyond terrible in every way imaginable. The acting is horrible. The editing is even worse. The story line makes absolutely no sense.
Honestly, this movie deserves ZERO stars. But since that's not an option, I begrudgingly gave it one. Anyone associated with this movie needs to have their head examined. Maybe I should too since I sat through the whole thing.

This review hurts to write being that I'm a HUGE fan of Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone as a fighter. I've personally met him and he is an awesome down to earth guy.
Unfortunately his acting in this film as hard to watch. Although I'm sure it doesn't help that the storyline, script and production are all absolute trash.
Immediately you can tell the production quality is low... which would be fine if the story made any sense at all. Everything in this film seems forced and cringey.
As I said this it hurts me to write such a terrible review when it comes to the infamous Cowboys Cerrone.... But not nearly as much as it hurt to watch that movie.
If you are able to make it all the way through this film. God bless you... and may god have mercy on your soul.

Of course you know it's not going to be a classic when your lead actor is a retired MMA fighter. Donald Cerrone is a bad actor and has no on screen charisma whatsoever. Watching his "I am Legend" routine is like watching a crackhead suffering from paranoid delusional schizophrenia episodses hide out in a cockroach infested motel room for an hour. Everything about this movie is crumby. It's a lame story with lame action and lame suspense and a lame plot. You could probably make a better movie with a bunch of your friends having a party in any roadside flea ridden desert motel room and using your own cell phone as a movie camera. This trash film is seriously that poorly made. 2 Stars for the Hilarious effort and a couple of chuckles, watching this dumpster fire of a video unfold into the abyss of Nothingness.

Non-actor Don Cerrone tries so hard to fill the shoes of the main character, you may actually find yourself rooting for him to pull it off - just to suspend the misery. Most of the film features Cerrone stomping around an apartment unit and mumbling to himself during a demonic invasion. He breaks some furniture, fights a couple of people in demon suits and hides in a trash bin. When you think this can't get any more absurd, he dons a sombrero and starts pasting duct tape across his window for protection, while threadbare sets waver and wobble. There's also a painfully mawkish love scene and a "surprise" ending. It's strangely watchable if you're in the right mood - half asleep perhaps - and can get into the groove, which is why I give this ***.
I hadn't heard about this 2022 movie titled "Project Legion" before sitting down to watch it. However, I must say that the movie's synopsis sounded interesting enough.
I am rather amazed that writers Lance Kawas, Michael Pizzimenti, James Raptoplous and John Sullivan could collectively managed to churn out something as bad as what "Project Legion" turned out to be. Strange why not a single writer would stop and go 'something is amiss here'. The storyline in this movie was utter rubbish and just downright laughably poor written.
Now, I have no idea who Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone is, nor do I have any urge to find out. But a leading actor capable of carrying a movie he was not. The acting in this movie was every bit as wooden, rigid and bad as the script and storyline. So at least those went hand in hand.
Visually then "Project Legion" was actually okay. But the special effects could do nothing to lift up the movie, given its total absense of a properly functioning storyline and lack of proper acting.
Trust me when I say that "Project Legion" is not worth the time, money or effort. I even fell asleep during the ordeal of sitting through this movie. I ended up just turning off the movie not even having made it 40 minutes into the 90 minutes that the movie ran for. And believe me when I say that I am not ever returning to give "Project Legion" a second chance.
"Project Legion" was through and through a massive swing and a miss. I am sure that the concept idea for "Project Legion" might have worked out well enough in the idea phase of its creation, but the transition from idea to script and finally on to the screen just didn't work.
My rating of "Project Legion" lands on a two out of ten stars.

OMG, no.
Have knw idea who Cerrone is but he sure cant act.
Doesnt matter however because the writing and directing (and dumb sound effects) are so bad you won't notice.
The randomly inserted sex scene early on is with what looks like a 50 year old woman. That's how bad this movie is. They couldnt even get some hot babe to be in it!
The entire movie looks like it was shot with an iphone. No one even bothered to check the lighting. It's attrocious.
And the way you can recognize the demons s that for somehow walk on hands and feet with their torsos pointed to the sky.
My goodness, this is one of the worst movies ever made.

A hardened soldier wakes up to some catastrophe. As someone bangs on his door he acts more like a confused yuppy who figures hollering through the door will scare the door knocker away. Many errors in the movie make this a bonafide garbage fire. Lights flickering on and off yet TV stays on. Laptop shows white noise as a tv would. Plays a multiple voicemails on his phone. While listening to them he literally screams into the phone HELLO multiple times. The director needs to rethink his career choices if this is the garbage he is going to put out. The only thing scary about this movie is I wasted time watching it.
Who ever wrote this needs to never write again, there's some great actors and directors that deserve to be on a mainstream platform but we got this. I feel maybe if the acting was a bit better but I was still lost with this story, it would skip so much that needed to be explained. The acting had no expression at all when in the most "serious" of situations, I feel I don't blame him for his acting because any good director would know that he wasn't ready and needed more time to improve. We would think you would get some bad ass for a main character considering he was military but it was very anticlimactic and sad. Props to Donald for doing his best but hopefully this crew learns and improves.

Writer/Director Lance Kawas bring us this highly entertaining Projection Legion.
Taking a chance and brilliantly done. Donald Cerone plays Greg Rourke, A former marine trapped in his apartment. What appears to be some out of control neighborhood at first turns out to be a goup of demons. What starts as banging and what he thinks is unruly neighbors just gets worse and worse. Outside is looks like an apocalyptic scenario. Fears is taking over and everything and everyone get weirder and weirder. His next door neighbor is especially haunting and really wants to come over. He seems to be battling this on his own and sought of the Last Man on Earth feeling.
The demons are closing in and he is trapped in his apartment. Will help arrive, will he find out what is going on.
It's hard to say too much about this movie without giving too much away. What starts off as your regular things gone wrong after a military secret discovery revealed and jump forward to Rourke and his girlfriend and buddies have a good ole time turns fast.
It was is a breath of fresh air on originality, it was cool to see a Demon take over for once. The demons are perfectly down and really scares the hell out of you. Perfectly photographed and directed this movie makes the most of his constricted setting. Shadows and lighting and sound are perfectly edited and really add too the movie.
Argento/Baba scream out here. I personally haven't been more on edge and delighted by a demon movie since I saw Demons back in the 80's. This did justice in the genre and is a great fall scare. Perfectly scheduled to come out now. I couldn't think of a better dark scary fall night paired with this.
It was nice seeing Donald Cerone in his first lead and really pull off a demanding role like this. He performs well in of course the fighting scenes. Perfectly choreographed. His girlfriend Brande Roderick has great chemistry and love her in every role she plays. A surprise for me was Kelly Lynn Reiter. I first noticed Kelly in Maneater and enjoyed her performance. She really gets to enjoy her part as Karen the neighbor and you will be screaming for more.
I am unsure and have to find out but when watching I felt the weird movements and acrobatics of the demons were professionally performed and not cgi. They were done to well and also what made this movie entertaining and haunting.
I will say and it's been awhile but I slept with the lights on.

Go in to this film with the idea that it's just supposed to be fun and you'll enjoy it. Cowboy does a good job at his first headline role and I'm sure he'll only get better after he makes a few more. There are a few mistakes, like who's shadow do we see in the kitchen and what's that big black spot above his eye when Cowboy looks through the peep hole, it doesn't show up in any other scenes? But hey what film doesn't have a few boo boos here and there. Nice little twist at the end, although it is one that is somewhat over used these days...take the black pill for goodness sake! Now get out there grab some popcorn and turn the lights down and watch it.
Damn, where to start, due to at each and every direction this SMELLS and SMELLS REALLY bad. From the script, to the actors, to the direction, to the production ,every aspect of this flic, is made from cheapest of cheap. I can not say that this is the worst flic I have EVER seen for ,that would mean it had promise, for it does NOT. I WOULD stick this movie in a box, label it SMELL, then call ELON to have SPACE X fly it DIRECTLY into the SUN.....hoping it never to return to this planet. Folks if you happen to view, prior to, take a long deep breath and hope that you pass out quickly and you are in the horizonal..Sorry Donald ,PLEASE, PLEASE stick to the fight game ,BECAUSE it does NOT hurt (THE VIEWERS) as much as an ass kicking....

This film is a great example of how thirsty streaming sites are getting for content. Pretty much anything can get made nowadays and Project Legion, definitely lands in the "never should have seen the light of day" pile. I do think Donald Cerrone deserves some credit. He really did go all in, and tried to make something out of nothing. It takes balls to go out of your comfort zone and risk ridicule from your peers to try and create something different. Hopefully this botched abortion of a film doesn't discourage him from further acting endeavors. You do see the occasional glimpse of potential out of his obviously uncultivated acting abilities, but not even Daniel Day Lewis could have salvaged this turd of a movie.
I had to go create an account JUST so I could write this review.
Ok, so, the script. Wow. I swear it sounds like I'm listening a Rain Man thinking he's a mercenary. Or Simple Jack. I get that they're trying to show him losing it through the movie. But I'm having trouble believing an adult wrote this script. And the demons seem to be really into interpretive dance.
HE DUCT TAPED THE DOOR SHUT as a barricade. Definitely gonna keep that in mind if I find myself in that situation. And the tagline says that keeping the door locked won't keep them out. But it sure as hell seems to work for a majority of the movie.

I have watched this movie twice now. The first time I'd had more than a few drinks and gave it a 5* rating. I'm a sucker for anything demonic and apparently enjoyed it at the time. Having obviously erased that viewing experience from my mind I saw it on prime and thought, that looks interesting. It wasn't until I came on IMDB to give it a bad review, that I discovered I had watched and reviewed it before. The main character is played by some one who is obviously not an actor, but branching out from some sport is my guess. Never heard of him, being from Australia, but I'm guessing something that involves a lot of blows to the head. It is painful to watch at times as he struggles to get his lines out. Heavily drawing on the plot of the Omega Man, it is mainly a two scene movie. In his apartment, and the corridor outside, but just repeatedly seems to be full of people in bad make up crabwalking backwards or shuffling zombie like up and down the passageway. I really liked the idea of this story, but it was so poorly executed and has been done so much better many times before. Was going to be just 1 star, can't resist a demon/hell on earth movie, no matter how crap.

I recently watched this film, and unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark. On the plus side, the film does have a certain gritty charm. The few decent performances and a few creative moments show that there was some effort to make the best of a limited budget. The concept has potential, and the initial setup manages to create some intrigue.
However, the film's shortcomings are hard to overlook. It feels heavily derivative, relying on well-worn tropes and plot devices that fail to bring anything new to the table. The low budget is evident throughout, with the film's limitations becoming more apparent as the story progresses. This often distracts from the narrative and undermines the overall impact.
The twist ending is another letdown. It feels forced and unearned, lacking the buildup needed to make it convincing or satisfying. Instead of providing a clever resolution, it feels more like an afterthought, trying to salvage a plot that had already begun to falter.
In summary, while the film has some redeeming qualities and a promising premise, it ultimately suffers from a lack of originality and the constraints of its budget. The unconvincing twist only adds to the disappointment, making it a struggle to fully engage with or recommend.

If you have no expectations & enjoy a new take on a dystopian tale, this was great! Personally, I really enjoyed the actor's monologues and conversations with people through the door. He was like a real guy with some combat skills trying to deal with zombie demons & figure out what was going on. (It might be best if you just start the movie when he wakes up after sex in his apartment.) I like to see different takes on how people might deal with dystopian situations. I loved it along with the real guy personality. I laughed & thought of guys I knew that might react the same. He was so cool all things considered which made it all that much more entertaining! Left me saying WTF looking for more explainers at the end, but enjoyed it! If you can hardly get enough of variations of zombie / demon tales, this one should rate well. If you don't like the genre much, you might skip.

So if you were thinking to watch this movie....jump out the window now and save yourself the torture. This is madness. It's so bad, I wanna go find the writers and and kill them slowly with a paperclip. DONT WATCH THIS.....PLEASSSSSSSSEEEE. I BEG YOU!!!!!!! There are Dora episodes with a better plot than this movie. The main character is a loon balloon and only asks stupid questions when faced with what seems like the apocalypse. If I was him...I wouldn't watch me in this movie either. Dumpster juice. There is one upside though....when you finish the movie, you can get back to your normal life and go make something of yourself. Maybe you can become a director when you get older and make a movie far from this quality 😂.

But not many... I think the actor was decent, but struggled with why a Marine didn't have any guns, why the demons thought to disable his truck, but not to break the glass, etc.
I felt like it was 'inspired' by the likes of 'Home Sweet Home' and 'Alive', both Korean films.
All that being said, It could have been worse. Overall, I think the actor did a decent job portraying someone in the midst of the apocalypse, but it was too poorly done elsewhere. The demons seemed like they were just in BDSM gimp suits. He's an ex-Marine (is there such a thing?) who doesn't own any firearms, but hatchets? It's not my favorite horror movie, but it's not the worst.
