The dialogue in the show is in Hebrew, English, Arabic, and even Ladino, the latter being a Sephardic language that primarily consists of old Spanish with borrowings from Turkish, Hebrew, Aramaic, Arabic, Portuguese, and French.
In S1E16, when Morduch is selling his goods, he calls out "Chocolates from France. Chai from Sri Lanka." But in 1931, Ceylon was under British rule. Sri Lanka became a republic in 1972 and changed its name.
Irit Kaplan and Itzik Cohen played lovers in the 2009 comedy "A Matter of Size". In Season 2, they sort of get together when Merkada (Irit's character) tries to woo Avraham (Itzik's character).
