The film was so bad that even Majid Al Futtaim / Vox Cinemas (one of the producers of the film) refused to release this in their own venues. The film premiered on MBC's Shahid platform.
The film was almost entirely shot in the residence of the former Brazilian Ambassador to Romania in the centre of Bucharest. The house was chosen because of its distinctive character and interiors that matched the story requirements and director's vision. The architecture and location were also key factors, because the setting had to resemble an old villa in an established Cairo suburb.
The cast of Bloodline was assembled quickly except for the twins. Director Rami Yasin and the casting director spent months to find identical 12-year old twins to play Malek and Adam. They almost gave up and considered using one actor, when they accidentally came across Pieter and John Ramy who had no acting experience. Convinced that they are perfectly suited for their roles, Rami flew to Cairo and spent considerable time getting to know them and training them on their roles.

Bloodline was the first picture produced by the trio MBC, Majed Al Futtaim and Imagenation.
