The themes bear strong resemblances to Noir (2001), Madlax (2004) and El Cazador de la Bruja (2007) all directed by Kôichi Mashimo.
The new female Phantom Army formed by Sycthe Master at the end of the series are all dressed in white halter-top dresses. These dresses are very similar to the dresses worn by the characters MADLAX and Margaret Burton at the end of Madlax (2004).
During the simulcast internet streaming by FUNimation in Jun of 2009, episode 4 was prematurely leaked online along with episode 403 of One Piece (1999), causing a temporary pull of both series from FUNimation.com's video portal.
Music Producer Yoshiyuki Itô was also the Music Producer for Phantom: The Animation (2004), the first adaptation of the visual novel work.
