Due to poor ratings for this show and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien (2009), NBC wanted to move this show to 11:35 pm and shorten it to a half-hour, bumping "The Tonight Show" to 12:05 AM. O'Brien refused to allow this and quit "The Tonight Show". Leno's show was cancelled and Leno returned to "The Tonight Show".
The weekly budget for Leno's prime time show was approximately $2.3 million.
