This is so far from the Star Wars I know. No jedi stuff, no force, no sith... nothing of that.
This is just about how regular people make their way in a galaxy under a cruel regime and I am 100% here for it.
I was hoping for something different, for a star wars story without the reliance of callbacks and cameos.
These three episode are just that and it is amazing. We are introduced to a whole new world within a world we are already so familiar with. This felt so entirely new and fresh.
These first episodes exceeded my expectations. I loved all the characters and their complexity. I cannot wait to see more of the world around Andor.

Cassian meets a like-minded character.
This is a very good episode and one of the best so far in the Star Wars streaming shows.
After strong opening scenes, we see what feels like the early seeds being sewn for Cassian's introduction to the rebel cause. It isn't a run of the mill first meeting between key characters, it's done in a compelling sequence full of tension.
What is particularly good is that all characters are portrayed realistically on both sides of the conflict and nobody feels one-note. This is through combination of good character writing and performances.
Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgäd, Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller, and Alexander Ferns are all on top form.
The visuals are fantastic, with some of the best cinematography, editing, use of music, and production design in Disney era Star Wars. Some say aspects of Andor feel more like 'Bladerunner', which for me is not a problem.

Absolutely phenomenal third episode! The first two paid off better than one could imagine. The first three episodes seem to stand more on their own setting up the on-going story for the rest of the season and the three-episode premiere was definitely the best way to go. Star Wars has always had its own simple but unique way of storytelling with its own standards, but the storytelling and writing in this show are on the level of other critically acclaimed shows outside of Star Wars. This has the potential to be the best Star Wars show of all. Visually this show is groundbreaking, and you must watch the episodes to truly see how beautiful the cinematography and visuals are, not only the trailers. Bravo Disney, can't wait for the next week's episode!

It's not your traditional Star wars by any means. None of your typical army stuff and jedi and sith, but merely a regional police force hunting criminals. Criminals who have a life and get on witj it. I feel Andor so far has illustrated perfectly the life of a commoner in the Star wars universe and brought a rather unique experience along side it.
We see the attitude towards the empire from normal people.
This episode more specifically, we get a brilliant sense of tension and action. Most definitely the best episode of the series so far and lays a solid groundwork for what is soon to come. Very good stuff.

I think we got us a bona fide hit here folks!
I wasn't sure how I'd react to this new series after recently seeing the official trailer but decided to check it out, being a SW fan and all.
I literally just finished watching all three available episodes (1, 2 and 3) in one sitting and was pretty blown away to say the least!
It's got everything going for it (story, script, great acting, interesting characters, cinematography, sound, visual effects, etc.). I'm stoked to see how it plays out over the next 3 episodes.
I'm not saying it's better than The Mandalorian at this point but I think as the story progresses, it's poised to give it a run for it's money which is fine by me!
Cassian Andor's origin story and his path to the great rebellion...I should've known it would end up being epic. It definitely is!!

Wow!! Now this is a Star Wars story!! Andor is The Rebellion - an anti-hero story with the classic beginning of innocence becoming cynical and given redemption to fight for a just belief. Rogue One may have been the end of the Andor Saga but WOW this is a great origin story. I hope Disney learned it's lesson with Andor and the Madelorian stories and the fresh insight to the mythos that began in 1977. Diego Luna is classic! Fiona Shaw as Marva brings out the boy and Stellan Skarsgard brings out the man. There's no Force enduced Jedi mind tricks - some droid sidekick humor but there is action and interaction that the final 3 movies lacked.

After the last trilogy and shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, I foresaw a very grim scenario for the future of the Star Wars live-action universe. But Andor, quite literally, gave me a new hope.
The first two episodes move at a slow pace, but everything that is portrayed has a purpose to move the story forward and create a powerful build-up.
Episode 3 comes as the perfect conclusion to the first trilogy of episodes that were released. It is emotional, epic, and a truly refreshing deep-dive into a grounded context of Star Wars. All characters have depth and the soundtrack is mesmerizing (Nicholas Britell once again with the stellar work).
Terrific cinematography and storytelling which leaves us incredibly curious for what is yet to come.
Definitely one of the most interesting Star Wars shows/movies in a long time.

You don't realize how much emotion you had invested in the first two episodes until the end of this one. Everything comes down in the explosive ending, which to me, is also the explosive beginning to the series. I agree this is the best Star Wars series so far and let's hope the ride continues for the rest of the 9 episodes. Tony Gilroy definitely proved that he's a master of his craft. The soundtrack and the score was absolutely perfect adding to the emotional punch. Diego Luna and Peter Skarsgard are at the top of their game here. I can't wait to watch the next episode, so until then, I will watch this one again, and again..
I couldnt review the first 2 episodes separately to this one so this is one review for the 3 episodes as they are combine to be an hour and half of Star Wars that we know and cant wait to delve back into!
As with any prequel story we know where the series will finish up with Andors demise at the hands of a single reactor shot from the Death Star on Scariff. From the start of this series we do get exactly the same vibes as we did from Disney best movie of Star Wars Rogue One. From the moment we met him in that film he would and did do anything to save himself and this is totally shown with his brutal actions with the 2 guards.
So much of the criticism of the story so far has been the flash back but by the time the beginning of the final 3rd is shown we really get to know that his race were like the stone ages and take off world by 2 scavengers which is a great origin for someone who made a living in the rebellion hoping not to be found.
The story telling and action meld together as one and dont distract from the other, with the showrunners being apart of the original film its proven to be a great choice to bring them back for the character that they brought to life. Stellen is another awesome addition to the Star Wars universe and cant wait to see his relation to Saw Guerria who we know is going to return later in the series!
Just roll on the next episode the same as the Mandalorian and the Book of Boba Fett. How can the tv series be better than most of the Disney movies but with writing and story telling like this get them on the big budgets.

The first two episode certainly had paxing issues as it tries to establish both plot and characters.
It looked too much like a po faced version of Blade Runner meets Blakes 7. American viewers might not recognise former actors from British soap operas Coronation Street and Eastenders popping up in the cast.
I even thought director Toby Haynes was trolling the audience. The officious Syril Karn seems to be based on Rimmer from Red Dwarf.
The third episode does add some oomph.
The introduction of Luthen (Stellan Skarsgård) with his booby traps and exit plans adds some fun and action.
There is certainly a feeling that Cassian Andor will begin a journey that will take him to Rogue One. Instead of being some kind of a struggling scavenger.
Having Skarsgård in the cast certainly helped.

So after two episodes of build-up and characterization, which nothing really happened if we're being honest but I enjoyed them because this is a tv show, not a movie or a mini-series, this episode acts as the climax of everything that the first two episodes were building up to and I thought it was pretty good.
From the somewhat creative action scenes and the use of the environment to keep the action fresher and not be just shooting, to the decent cinematography and the music, this episode was really good and enjoyable.
I think the writing is just decent, not bad and not great either, but just good enough. We've seen so much bad writing in Star Wars under Disney that this run-of-the-mill cliché-filled (but cliché with good execution and implementation) is acceptable for me.
What I appreciate from this show, and having seen Rogue One it's basically expected, is that it doesn't try to paint the protagonist as a "hero" or the good guy, yet, which was one of the major reasons why The Book of Boba Fett sucked so bad. Apparently, Disney and other studios have a real hard time making a movie or show where the bad guy is the protagonist and have to make them a good guy no matter what, and Boba Fett was the worst of them.
And speaking of not painting Andor as the good guy, they also do a good job of showing Syril Karn and slowly developing him as a character and his completely justified hatred toward Andor. Syril might as well could have been the protagonist of the show if it was told from his pov. So they're doing a good job of keeping the characters gray and human.
So far the show is really good but we're just 3 episodes in a season with 12, so the actual plot hasn't been that clear yet and it's slowly developing, but from what I'm seeing, we're maybe looking at another Mandalorian with decent writing and good characters. Looking forward to where the plot and characters are gonna go from here.

This is what I have been wanting and I'm sure real star war fans can agree! This is incredible! From the acting, to the casting, performance, visuals, story, everything! It's a raw real story with captivating characters and the flashbacks to ANDOR's childhood is beautifully done! The pacing is just right, not too fast not too slow. It doesn't feel rushed at all.
I know the fandom won't agree on everything, it happens with all fandoms. But as someone who has enjoyed other projects like the mandalorian, I don't understand how people are giving this lower ratings, it's unacceptable. This is what a real tv show is about and this 3rd episode leaves you not being able to wait for what's to come! And I have to say again the casting and performance by the actors is phenomenal!

While Mandalorian is a good show, it is heavily invested in Star Wars material so it's hard to know why that show works so well. However, Andor is supported almost completely by excellent storytelling over Star Wars content. I know that the first two episodes were a little slower but I would not treat them like individual episodes. Watch 1-3 together and treat it like one episode. Without spoiling anything, they go deeper in each character's emotions and backstories. This is something the movies cannot do because of the 1.5-2.5 hour window movies have to work with, so it's very refreshing. Also, this is a show for adults and teenagers, no bumble gum Star Wars material. If this show's quality continues, it could easily match the level of storytelling of Breaking Bad and the good parts of Game of Thrones.
I went into this show, not knowing what to expect and i was plesently surprised! After kenobi i really needed a show with no legacy characters and not held back by the canon, and this show is just that, as we don't know much about the characters except the premise!
I really like that we just get to see star wars from a different perspective! More down to earth! This feels like the show for the adult fans, as the theemes are more mature and it feels like the people behind it actually cares! Great visuals, cinematogrophy and World building! The empire feels threatening and you feel their presence! Plus they are not treated as dumb idiot! LIKE Rogue One they stakes feel real!
Overall this show looks very promising and might be the best show since mando.

I don't get the 10/10 reviews. For now, I can't feel nothing special.
I loved every Star Wars content, except for Kenobi and the sequel trilogy (even Solo, Book of Boba Fett and the Bad Batch), this might be not that far from the worst content in this universe. In the beginning I wasn't excited for Andor because is a character with the story already been told for me, but I believed that this could be a very good show improving my expectations.
Hope it goes better in the next episodes, for now I'm a little disappointed and I already know that I will not see this series hundred of times like other stuff, like the movies or The Clone Wars or Rebels.

The slowness of Andor does not build up tension. It is just boring.
John le Carré is so much better at slowly building up tension. He is a master at telling a proper spy story. There is not a lot of action in Smiley's People, for example. But the story gets more intense with every episode and you get deeper and deeper into the mystery. The show is very well done.
Andor has none of that. It is simplistic in comparison. We know why we follow John le Carré's Smiley around. We don't know why we follow Andor around. What is he doing? Why is he talking to all those people? I don't care!
I love the Smiley character! And I don't care about the characters in Andor!

1st 2 episodes were a slow burner, but this is the pay off episode, and quite a good one it was. 1st off everything is high quality top notch. Something that was a huge problem with Boba Fett and Obi- wan, that those shows felt so cheap at times, from the acting, to the action, to the set designs, to the visuals. It didn't feel like Star Wars at its best. Andor never feels like that, I would say the visuals and quality are even better then in Mandalorian. The thing that can make Star Wars so good is the feeling of wanting to explore the universe, and Andor captures that perfectly. I'm not the biggest fan of flashbacks constantly being used, but it works here because it really gave us a sense of where Andor came from. And at the end of the 3rd episode, we really get the feeling that "Ok Andor is a serious space explorer." Which is exactly what you want out some of your main Star Wars characters. I think Andor will continue to go strong because it seems, this show is going to really carve its way into an adventure/ action show, and that's my favorite kind of Star Wars.

Everything comes together to form a beautiful and powerful ending - the acting, direction and (especially for me) music were brilliant and gave the episode an emotional punch, which actually felt natural. The flashback at the end and the Past/Present suite were very emotional.
The thing about Andor is I actually felt invested in the story and characters. The pacing is just right, and the action is used to compliment the story and make it more impactful - there are no endless blaster shootings scenes and unnecessary explosions every 2 minutes. The dialogue is good, the direction is great, and the casting is actually perfect. Thank you for creating something worthwhile. Looking forward to season 2.
