When David is on the bus with Elise she drops his blackberry in the cup of coffee. He receives a call from Charlie on his flip phone. After the scene cuts to Charlie talking on the phone and back to David, David is talking on his Blackberry instead of the flip phone. This is one continuous conversation that should have been done on one phone.
In the newspaper article regarding the congressman's college prank, one of the accompanying photographs was taken during the warehouse party Elise takes him to later in the film.
During Elise's dance performance she she sprains her ankle she wears blue booties except during one lift.
In the last part of the movie Harry gives David his hat so David can make his way though the doors to find Elise. After David gets started through the substrate shots cut to Harry showing him holding a hat. But at the climactic scene Harry doesn't have his hat and takes it back from David.
At 1:30:18, David Norris stops a Dodge Avenger when he runs in front of it. In the next scene though at 1:30:19 through 1:30:21, you see a Dodge Charger instead.
Elise's marriage license application is issued by the Department of Human Services. In reality it would be issued by the City Clerk's office.
David could have been able to find Elise by using any good PI. He could have given a good description of what she looked like, and as many results as his internet search produced, he could have looked in the White Pages, looking solely in the Greater New York area. However, since the bureau was focused on not allowing them to be together, David's PI would probably not have successfully located Elise.
The newspaper that reports Elise's dance career and engagement repeats the same paragraphs several times, taking up space in order to fill the article.
Just before Elise sprains her ankle, there is a long shot of the performers dancing, clearly showing someone else in Emily Blunt's place.
After his election defeat, David is seen waking up to an alarm clock at 6 a.m., with plenty of daylight. The news he has on the TV notes it's a month after the election, meaning the month is December. There would not be daylight in New York City at 6 a.m. in December.
On the night of the 2006 election, Norris watches coverage on CNN. CNN's on-screen graphics match their 2011 scheme, which wasn't implemented until 2008. He's also watching an HD broadcast of CNN; CNN HD did not debut until September 2007.
In the very last scene, just before the credits, an extra can be seen filming the scene with a smart phone from the car.
The moral of the story (explained at the end) contradicts one of the premises of the film, as Thompson had earlier told David that their experiments in allowing free will had disastrous consequences and would have destroyed the species if they hadn't taken the reins back. Based on that evidence, people taking back their free will would be exactly what The Chairman wouldn't want.
When Elise woke up, the alarm clock was at 8:20, yet she had received four phone calls, the most recent being from 11:03. Later she said she had received them in the same morning (not last night).
On the Marriage License issued 10/7/2009, Elise's DOB is listed as 11/11/77, making her 31 at the time that this was issued as her birthday for 2009 has not yet arrived. Item 15 (Age) on the license, however, lists her age as 32.
Thompson tells David the list of problems the world created 'within fifty years' after giving people autonomy in 1910. The Cuban Missile Crisis did not start until 1962, fifty-two years later.
