What a sad event.
It clearly identifies one of the major problems with police in the UK....they are under-trained and poorly organized and equipped.
This is a clear indictment of how the 'teams' of several special units within the police department can NOT work happily together.
One team arrives to do THEIR job and does it but a second team, arrives late, unorganized, ill-equipped, poorly working or missing equipment and VERY OBVIOUSLY lacking any organizational ability and guidance at the top.
Criticize North American police forces for carrying side-arms and being, sometimes, a little too casual about using them, but nonetheless...they are FAMILIAR with their use....misuse...tactics and shortcomings and fundamental errors like these do not happen often.
The lesson learned is simple....their are 2 groups of people that are simply not grown up enough to be given the responsibility to carry and use a firearm......children under the age of 18 and British police.
