Problematic lyrics in music are not a new thing, the issue of portraying women in a bad light has been rampant in most famous raps. Several artists and fans have called out popular rappers and musicians for allegedly following the toxic trend of women-hatred in their songs.
However, there was one female artist who had guts bigger than the entire music industry combined. Back in the 90s, when rappers like Snoop Dogg and Suge Knight had gained prominence, their songs allegedly featured several misogynistic ideals. This annoyed popular singer Dionne Warwick, who took it upon herself to school the famous rappers and bring them back on track.

Heartstopper season 3 has finally arrived on Netflix, releasing eight brand-new episodes on Oct. 3. While fans are surely elated to be reunited with Nick and Charlie and all of their friends, the latest season tackles some of the heaviest and most mature subjects of the teen drama series yet.
As hinted by the second season, Charlie struggles with his mental health in the third season. These struggles come to a head in season 3 as both Nick and Tori worry about him and what he's going through. Elsewhere in the season, the teens begin to worry about their futures and where life will take them in university, their relationships, and beyond.
While the series digs deeper into the realities of being a teenager, Heartstopper maintains its happy-go-lucky and lovable quality that's so unmistakable. Part of that lovable qualities comes from the catchy and modern indie rock and pop soundtrack that will have...

The Voice judges sent Crystalla Gonzalez home on Monday night’s episode. Despite getting to perform with one of the judges, no coach turned their chair for the rock singer. Here’s why.
The Voice Season 26
Season 26 of The Voice has only just begun. For those unaware, this season’s judges are returning coaches, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani. The first-time coaches and the unlikeliest of friends are Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé.
After the first episode gave surprises like the use of Reba McEntire’s Replay Button for this season, performers being sent home are still getting to perform with their idols. However, they are still forced to leave the competition.
The series is well known for its judges acting as coaches and the judgment of performers solely on their voice to add the hopefuls to their teams. Unfortunately, there are times when no one turns their chairs. Sadly,...

Mariah Carey is the quintessential crossover artist, with a catalog of hits that bridges the gap between pop, R&b, hip-hop, and house music. Though the so-called elusive chanteuse has shied away from the latter genre in recent years, she seems headed back into the fold. Just days after hopping on an R&b remix of Muni Long’s “Made for Me,” Mariah has dropped a deep house mix of “Portrait,” the closing track from her underrated 2018 album Caution.
Clocking in at a whopping 16 minutes, “Portrait” is the singer’s longest remix to date, including completely reworked vocals and snippets from her new Audible podcast, detailing how she approaches the remix process. “We usually just let the beat be anything,” she explains. “It didn’t have to be specifically in the same key or the same vibe…as the original. So you can just be free.”

When news broke in early February that Mariah Carey had booked a return ticket to Las Vegas to mount another residency, it was revealed that she would design the set list as a celebration of her 2005 blockbuster album, The Emancipation of Mimi.
It inspired the title of the exclusive run — The Celebration of Mimi — as well as the timing. Carey took the stage at Park MGM’s Dolby Live to launch the 16-date residency on April 12, 2024, exactly 19 years to the day after the album was released. It’s no surprise Carey wanted to commemorate the 14-track effort, which sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and brought the elusive chanteuse back into familiar territory at the top of the charts. The success of Emancipation of Mimi was fueled by the No. 1 smash “We Belong Together” and punctuated by singles “It’s Like That,” “Shake It Off,” “Get Your Number,” “Don’t Forget About Us,...

Broadway box office took a slide last week as receipts for Sweeney Todd fell by more than $1 million with the departures of Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford (and before the February 9 arrival of big-name replacements Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster).
Overall, box office for the 25 Broadway productions was off by 15% from the previous week, with receipts for the week ending January 21 (the first week of the annual Broadway Week 2-for-1 discount promotion) totaling $23,589,174. Attendance of 204,612 was down only 6% (and holding about even with last season at this time).
Average ticket price for all shows was $115.29, down from $126.70 the previous week.
Most of the productions reported a drop in receipts, though none on the scale of the $1,315,747 hit taken by Sweeney: The acclaimed Sondheim musical revival grossed $795,400, compared to the massive $2,111,147 for the previous week, when Groban and Ashford came to the ends of their limited runs.

It was a family affair for superstar songstress Mariah Carey as she brought her Merry Christmas One and All! tour to the Hollywood Bowl for two sold-out shows on Nov. 17 and 19.
Joining the superstar onstage both nights were her 12-year-old twins (with Nick Cannon), Moroccan and Monroe, or “Roc and Roe,” as the singer put it. Carey’s daughter, Monroe, joined her mom for a duet on a soaring “Jesus Born on This Day,” from Carey’s 1994 holiday album Merry Christmas, with Monroe also fronting a rollicking version of The Waitresses’ “Christmas Wrapping.” Moroccan made a brief appearance for “Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane).” Upbeat versions — complete with all the “zhuzh,” Carey noted — of her Christmas standards started out the set list with cheer.

Dolly Parton isn’t done rocking yet. After sharing her new album Rockstar last week, our November cover star has returned with two new bonus tracks: Her rendition of the Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise,” plus a new version of her classic “Jolene” featuring Måneskin.
The Måneskin-assisted version of “Jolene” is available exclusively with the digital download version of Rockstar on Parton’s website, though the country icon did share a preview of the duet on Instagram. It sounds like the new recording stays fairly faithful to the original, with Måneskin’s Damiano David taking on co-lead vocals with Parton.
“Jolene” appears on the deluxe edition of Rockstar, which also features guest features from Sting, Steve Perry, Joan Jett, Mick Fleetwood, Pat Benatar, Brandi Carlile, and many, many more. See a preview clip of Måneskin’s take on “Jolene” below.

Rockstar, the star-studded rock’n’roll album by our November cover star, Dolly Parton, has arrived. Stream it below.
Inspired by her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Rockstar is the 49th full-length release from Parton, and features a variety of new originals and classic rock covers, as well as a heap of guest appearances by artists like Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr, Miley Cyrus, Chris Stapleton, Debbie Harry, Nikki Sixx, and many more.
Speaking with Paramore’s Hayley Williams for Consequence’s most recent cover story, Parton explained that when she found out she was voted into the Rock Hall, she “didn’t feel like [she’d] earned it.” To make up for that, she got into the studio and cut a proper rock album, without cutting any corners. “That was important to me: not to half-ass do a record that’s a country girl singing some rock,...

Christine McVie’s estate and Pat Benatar have both closed deals to sell rights to their music to the acquisition firm HarbourView Equity Partners, the company tells Rolling Stone.
McVie’s estate has sold her stake in Fleetwood Mac’s recorded music, which includes shares in hits like the McVie-sung tracks “Songbird” and “Say You Love Me,” along with other band staples “Go Your Own Way,” “The Chain” and “Dreams.” Benatar — as well as her longtime musical partner and husband Neil Giraldo — sold an unspecified stake in both their recorded music and publishing rights.

“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” is based on Holly Jackson’s bestselling book-series about 17-year-old Pip, who finds herself drawn into a murder investigation when she begins to suspect the police have got the wrong man.
Moonage Pictures are now adapting the book alongside the BBC (who own a minority stake in Moonage) and German co-producers Zdf, with “Wednesday” star Emma Myers cast as Pip.
With the project a Mipcom priority for BBC Studios, who are repping international distribution rights, exec producers Matthew Read and Frith Tiplady sat down with Variety to discuss why “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” has the potential to rival the Queen of Crime herself, Agatha Christie.
Why did you decide to adapt the book?

Singer-songwriter Mariah Carey has posted some Instagram shots reminiscent of her ‘Dreamlover’ music video look from 30 years ago. In the photos, Carey posed in a black-and-white flannel with her hair worn in long, soft waves pulled back on the sides, and also wore more natural makeup, reports People magazine.
“Homage to the Dreamlover video (sans the grassy fields),” the five-time Grammy winner, 54, captioned her photo series.
“Instantly transported back to 1993. You’re timeless Mc!” one follower wrote, while another chimed in: “This casual style looks so good on you!” For the ’90s video, Carey had worn a blue-and-white flannel knotted at the bottom revealing her midsection, paired with cuffed jean shorts and a chunky black belt with her hair in ringlets, tied in low pigtails.

Following its strong debut last week at the Telluride Film Festival, 20th Century Studios has debuted the first trailer for Jeff Nichols’s “The Bikeriders.” The thrilling drama – which owes as much to “Goodfellas” and “A Bronx Tale” as it does to the Danny Lyon sourcebook of interviews and photography that inspired Nichols to write the script – stars Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy, and recent Best Actor nominee Austin Butler. It’s due out in theaters on December 1.
Here’s the logline, provided by 20th Century Studios:
“The Bikeriders” is a furious drama following the rise of a fictional 1960s Midwestern motorcycle club through the lives of its members. Inspired by Danny Lyon’s iconic book of photography, “The Bikeriders” immerses you in the look, feel, and sounds of the bare-knuckled, grease-covered subculture of ’60s motorcycle riders. Peter Gonzales Falcon, the Texan who starred as a young Federico Fellini in the director’s semi-autobiographical Roma, has died, according to his friend Aurelio Montemayor. He was 75.
Gonzales Falcon got his start with a bit part in Viva Max (1969), a satirical film about a modern-day Mexican general (Peter Ustinov) who retakes the Alamo.
The actor went on to model for a year in London before he landed the role that would make his career.
In 2018, Gonzales Falcon related the story of auditioning for Fellini after being recommended by actor Eugene Walter, a friend of a friend:
I went to Cinecittà where there was a line about a block long with young men wanting to meet Fellini. I went around the line to the main door and buzzed. The door was opened by Liliana [Fellini’s longtime assistant] who looked like a little Edward G. Robinson and even had a cigar in her mouth.

Peter Gonzales Falcon, the actor from Texas who portrayed a young Federico Fellini in Roma, the famed Italian director’s 1972 autobiographical film, has died. He was 74.
Gonzales Falcon was found dead at his home Tuesday in La Pryor, Texas, by authorities called there for a safety check, his friend Aurelio Montemayor told The Hollywood Reporter.
After dropping out of college after being cast in Viva Max (1969), a farcical present-day comedy about retaking the Alamo, Gonzales Falcon was hired by Fellini himself for Roma, which featured cameos from Anna Magnani, Marcello Mastroianni and Gore Vidal.
Segments of the film show Gonzales Falcon as Fellini during the 1930s and ’40s after the future filmmaker arrives in Rome to pursue a career as a journalist and wanders the city to experience what it has to offer. He worked on the documentary-style feature for 41 weeks, he told author Tom Lisanti during an expansive 2018 interview.

Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham stood apart from his peers with a bag of tricks that made his sound impossible to copy. Yet he was like many other classic rock drummers in one way — he rarely received songwriting credits with his band. Still, Bonham wrote several Led Zeppelin songs, including one without any assistance at all.
John Bonham received writing credits for Led Zeppelin songs and revamped blues tunes
One of the traits that set Led Zeppelin apart from their contemporaries was the amount of democracy in the band. Founder Jimmy Page and ace multi-instrumentalist John Paul Jones came to the band with songwriting chops, but in time Bonham and singer Robert Plant became key contributors to all of Led Zeppelin’s songs.
Many of Zep’s early tunes were reworkings of blues standards. Page said he divided songwriting credits evenly in those cases.

Paddington in Peru, the third film in the Paddington franchise, has added a newcomer to its cast. Oscar winner Olivia Colman is in talks to play a role in the StudioCanal feature about the beloved bear.
Ben Whishaw has long voiced the titular bear, who in past films was seen getting into adventures with the Brown family. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps but the movie will see Paddington travel from his home in London to his native home of “darkest Peru.”
Sources note that Colman’s character will run a retirement home for bears in Peru. (Fans of the Paddington franchise will remember that Paddington’s Aunt Lucy lives in The Home for Retired Bears.)
Paddington in Peru will be the feature debut of Dougal Wilson, the award-winning commercial and music video director. Heyday and StudioCanal are producing the feature. Filming will be done on location in London and Peru.

Led Zeppelin songs ran the gamut. They had heavy pieces and delicate tunes. Songs they loved and songs they hated. Epics that stretched the clock. Led Zeppelin’s shortest songs included two of their most recognizable pieces, one of which continues raking in money for the band.

What is considered the best Rolling Stones album? It’s a fair question, and there are plenty to choose from. Would it be one of the classics the band strung together in the 1960s and 1970s? Would it be one of the albums that peaked at No. 2 despite housing incredible songs? Or one of the many compilations stacked with hits (and some of the band’s controversial songs)? Best is subjective, but we know which of the nine Rolling Stones albums to reach No. 1 were the most commercially successful of the group’s records (thanks to some help from Billboard’s meticulous record-keeping).
Note: We used the time spent at No. 1 as the benchmark of success. We broke the ties in the middle of the pack by looking at duration on the charts.

Duncan, a country singer and songwriter, rose to fame after her appearance on the 23rd season of the reality TV show Survivor.

However, her time on the show was not just a platform for her musical career but also the beginning of a controversial love story. While on Survivor: South Pacific, Duncan met her now-husband and fellow contestant Tollefson while married to her ex.

Led Zeppelin has a lengthy discography of heavy, hard-hitting rock ballads. While the band is no more, millions of lucky fans in the 1970s were able to witness the band play live. However, Led Zeppelin did not perform every track they released, and a few songs never made it on any concert setlist. Here are 5 Led Zeppelin songs the band never performed live.

“Fool in the Rain” suffered from poor timing as it was the last single released in the U.S. by Led Zeppelin before the band disbanded after drummer John Bonham’s death. The single peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was included on the album In Through the Out Door.

No other bands of the era compared to Led Zeppelin. Their mix of heavy blues, sonic experimentation, gentle acoustic songs, and forays into folk music made them more than a one-trick classic rock pony. Some musicians hated Led Zeppelin, but their scores of fans loved them immediately. The band showed the love, too, penning one of their Houses of the Holy songs (“The Ocean”) in their honor. Yet we won’t discuss that song on our list of Led Zeppelin ‘love’ songs — four tunes with love in the title.

Inna presents the first part of the album “Just Dance“, six songs which were composed and produced in just 16 days. Taking her creative process to the next level, Inna isolated herself in the Dance Queen’s House for two-weeks to create music, documenting the artistic process behind her work across three seasons. “Just Dance #DQH1” is the exciting debut release of this third season, seeing the artist teaming up with producers and composers from Global Records such as Marco & Seba, Alex Cotoi and Iraida, working on tracks with an atypical, uptempo, energetic and bold sound. The album’s track list includes “I’ll Be There”, “Just Dance”, “Nothing I Won’t Do”, “Something About You”, “Start a Fire” and “We Should Get Lost”; eclectic, true party anthems that are released with special dedicated visuals created by Florin Burlacu and Andrei Via.

Led Zeppelin won over fans, especially in the United States, early in the band’s career. Still, several musicians hated them, and so did hotel managers. Led Zeppelin’s reputation for mayhem and debauchery wasn’t made up — they frequently took out their pent-up energy on hotel rooms, hallways, lobbies, and kitchens. He had a reputation as a wild one, but drummer John Bonham’s gift to his long-lost aunt proved he had a soft and sentimental side, too.

Bonham played his drums hard with Led Zeppelin. He partied hard, too.
He often dealt with the boredom of life on the road and the adrenaline of playing sold-out concerts with alcohol. And when Bonham overserved himself, mischief often ensued. He once had his nose broken by Led Zeppelin’s tour manager during a confrontation...

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, it’s hard to argue The Rolling Stones aren’t one of the most popular bands ever. Paul McCartney claimed George Harrison got the Stones their recording contract, but whether or not that’s true doesn’t matter. They made the most of their opportunity and created several seminal albums along the way. They also found success on the Billboard singles chart. Eight Rolling Stones songs reached No. 1, but some ranked higher than others.
Note: We ranked The Rolling Stones’ eight No. 1 hits based on weeks atop the Billboard singles chart and total weeks on the chart. The only place we had to make an editorial decision was at the No. 4 spot.

One of The Rolling Stones’ most heartfelt ballads was also one of their chart-topping hits.
