Creators take inspiration on Superman (1978), particularly Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder's chemistry. "We loved their chemistry; we loved how smart and feisty Lois was, and loved the heart and altruism of Reeve's Superman / Clark Kent. The movie was clever, fun, and modernized Superman in a way that felt organic to the time period, while also respectful of what came before. It truly is one of our favorite pieces of Superman media."
Heat Wave and Mist are not normally Superman villains. They are instead Flash and Starman's foes.
Originally titled "Superman: Up and Away".
The villains/Task Force X are not metahumans like their comic counterparts. They instead use Kryptonian technology leftover from Zero Day.
The House of El symbol in this adaptation is reminiscent of the comic book "Kingdom Come", with a yellow background instead of black.
