William McGregor's 'Who is afraid of the Watersprite?' is the beautiful and haunting story of a sick mother, her little girl, a blacksmith and an old man whose stories all come together in a shocking and fantastical ending.
As someone who has been involved in and has run Student Film Festivals for many years, I can honestly say that this is the most sophisticated and technically outstanding student production I have ever seen. The colours are beautiful and the tension builds to slowly and steadily that I just recently used the film as an example to teach the perfect thriller build up.
The film has won a major range of awards, including a Royal Television Society Award, a Coca Cola CineMagic Award and three awards each at Cam*Era, the Cambridge International Film Festival and Screentest- The National Student Film Festival. iTunes released it for Halloween 2010 and I am sure that we can expect many more great things from William McGregor in the future!
