Jill Tuck (Betsy Russell), wife of deceased John Kramer/Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), informs Detective Matt Gibson (Chad Donella) about Detective Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) in exchange for police protection. While Jill hides from Hoffman, he has already initiated another game in which Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery), the leader of a Jigsaw Survivors Group and author of S.U.R.V.I.V.E, an account of his ordeal as a victim of one of Jigsaw's games, is placed through another series of trials in order to save his best friend Cale (Dean Armstrong), his lawyer Suzanne (Rebecca Marshall), his public relations agent Nina (Naomi Snieckus), and his wife Joyce (Gina Holden).

Saw: The Final Chapter is the last of seven films in the Saw series, originally conceived by Australian screenwriters Leigh Whannell and James Wan. The other six films in the series include Saw (2004), Saw II (2005), Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), and Saw VI (2009). Its sequel is Jigsaw (2017).

Yes. The first scene in the film shows Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) crawling out of the bathroom and using a hot steam pipe to cauterize his leg wound, following the events of the first Saw film. He also appears during and at the end of the film.

The other two masked men never reveal themselves in the movie. On the DVD commentary track, however, they are revealed to be Brad and Ryan, the two survivors from the trap at the beginning of the film (the love triangle trap).

It may have been intended to be the last, but there is Jigsaw (2017), with an expected release date of October 27th, 2017.

It was filmed in 3D. They did not convert from 2D to 3D.

There's not a lot of films out there similar to the Saw films where someone sets up traps that other people must pass through at the risk of death. Probably the movies that come closest to the Saw films are the Cube film series: Cube (1997), Cube²: Hypercube (2002), and Cube Zero (2004); this film series involves various people, all with questionable backgrounds, waking up to find themselves prisoners in a gigantic Rubik's cube, in which some of the rooms have boobytraps with lethal outcomes. Another worthy mention is The Collector (2009) and its sequel The Collection (2012).

The unrated version, which is only available on Blu-ray disc among the features, in contrast to the previous films of the Saw franchise, no plot extensions. For the unrated version of the seventh part, only prolonged gore sequences have been reinserted but one has to look very closely, because these 19 changes account for a total of only 12 added seconds of footage.
