One of the most interesting and intriguing things I've seen in a while. The world created is painted as a colorful and eccentric atmosphere, with over the top characters to match it, but the world also has a darker side to it that can easily be expanded on. It's reminiscencent of a modern version of the movie "Friday", but with the stakes much higher. The beginning will instantly have you hooked and interested in the world created. The pacing is great and the edits are top notch. The ending will have you begging for more. The sheer amount of memorable characters and moments in this makes "Tax Season" such a pleasure to watch.

KD struck gold on this project. The acting was key and the cinematography was clutch!!! Hoping to see more projects from him. The storyline was very good and the project kept you intrigued throughout the whole thing. Acting was above average and on top of that, the actors and actresses kept you entertained and engaged. Rarely do you see something out of South Carolina that is good or can keep your audience and attention, this is a welcomed exception to the rule. I really can't wait to see how this will conclude not can I wait to see another stellar project from Shadetree Productions. I'm all in for it.

Be on the lookout for these rising stars as they jump through the screen to grab your attention throughout the entirety of the episode you're watching. Everyone did an amazing job, the colors and the actions and the dialogue were all top notch. I would see it again in a heartbeat! The best part of the show was the comedy woven in and out of each scene for me. There are high stakes, the dialogue keeps the story moving forward, there's laughs, there's shock and awe, everything you could want to see in a blockbuster film all presented in an independent film. There's a lot that can be said about that!

After knowing the process of what this took to create, and also knowing some of the backstory to understand where KD came up with this idea and how he wanted it to be.
Super proud of what he's accomplished with the way that he shot this film his ideas, out-of-the-box thinking The way he edited and color graded. The equipment he used made everything look beautiful. I think a great job was done on this project. It will give you a laugh. It will leave you wanting more.
All of the characters are relatable to me so I do connect with them. I do like movies that have street activities involved but there's a twist in this film, that is unexpected.
There are so many ways that you could twist the story I cannot wait to see what is in episode two!

Actually working on the project was an experience in itself. The set was professional when I arrived from Atlanta. Everything was ready to go and I was able to shoot my scene in one day not knowing that so much have been put into this project! The episode was phenomenal from the beginning to the cliffhanger. I can't wait to see more!!!All of the actors made their characters come to life, they were so believable! Kudos to all involved in the project! I can't wait to see more!!! I want to see where it goes I want to see if Peewee and JR wins! I want to see more from Ratchet Rita, what's her story! It gave me action comedy and drama and that's a combination that can't be beat! Well done!!

This series has it all. It is filled with tension, dramatic situations/bad ass characters, and paced to keep you on your feet and entertained in a dramatic manner all while delivering very comedic interactions and situations. DRAMEDY indeed- and very well done. The music was amazing. Original scores and songs that not only matched the scenes but helped propel the pacing of the show- along with the consistent use of great foley. The coloring was very consistent and kept my eyes glued to the screen. The ending leaves you wanting more, and also leaves room for a lot of longevity. I can see this turning into plot twist after plot twist. I'm ready for more!

Having watched the initial first cut from the premier, I was impressed at how everything came together fluidly with a number of such diverse character stories. It was also surprisingly much funnier than I had expected. So many unique characters made this film absolutely impossible to turn away from! You can easily see how this can be fully developed into an incredible series for anyone to become hooked on. Bravo to Shade & Robert for their vision. I will be impatiently awaiting to hear when the next episode will be coming out, the way a crack addict awaits his / her next fix! Sign me up for the entire series!

Coming from a person who watches d-list up abd coming director movies, this one was good. It used a creative approach at the 'come-up' prospective. I enjoyed how well the cast worked together in acting out their roles. The director brought the area into main stream attention with use of the location. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters to bring comedy to the film. The homage paid to other well known comedies of similar subject matter. Done in its own unique way. Looking forward to part two, really left the audience craving for more. This is gonna be the next ethnic cult hit...

Entertaining, amusing, and enthralling, this first episode leaves you wanting to see more! I couldn't help but compare the character introductions to Spike Lee's classic, 'Do The Right Thing', as we get to know all the characters in the neighborhood, and get an immediate understanding of their relationships to each other. They all have an endearing quality despite their quirks or flaws. The stand-outs to me in this respect are Pee Wee and Dreco.
Pee Wee is flawed but loveable. He is dismissed as a bungling fool by his nephew and cohort, JR, yet we see his caring humanity as he relates to his sister and even in the way he allows Ratchet Rita to manipulate him into caring for her children.
There are many memorable characters in this series, and Dreco rises to the top as one of the most unique. His entrance while wearing his bike helmet on his Vespa as he comes motoring onto the street is almost humorous and immediately puts everyone on alert, so we know he has a history of being an unhinged loose cannon, in a tweaked out comical way, to be delicately dealt with in order to keep the peace.
The rhythm of the editing also helps to echo some of the comical nature of our characters within scenes that would otherwise be quite heavy, as well as some of the vivid set decoration and production design.
A top-notch effort was turned in with all of the performances, with cinematography and editing, with production design and props, and with the musical score. To note that Shadetree K. Dee and Robert Hopkins were the Co-Directors, and also the Writers and Producers in collaboration with others, while also wearing many other hats is impressive to think that a show of this caliber and professional end-product could be accomplished with such a limited number of people.
Shadetree K. Dee was the Creator and Visionary of this project. I do hope we will see additional episodes of Tax Season, and I look forward to seeing future projects by these very talented filmmakers.

Im not gonna count the major productions to come out of Charleston like the righteous gemstones or Outer Banks. I have seen plenty of indie film makers make their films down here and a majority of the time, they miss the mark on so many levels. Tax Season on the other hand, hit the ball right out the ballpark! K. Dee and Robert Hopkins set out to break the mold on crime drama and created a fast paced action crime series with enough comedy to keep it from being too over the top serious and keep you engaged the whole way through. My biggestest worries going in were going to be about how good the sound, lighting, and color grading jobs were, as those things instantly bring me out of the movie if they are not on par. What I came to witness was pristine sound mixing, foley on point with blockbuster films, lighting that kept the continuity seamless complimented by color grading that brought out the bright, bold and vivid colors found in Charleston SC. The pacing of this film fell right in line with the story telling, not dragging you along or rushing you too fast to make sense of whats going on. The cinematography hit everything they were going for spot on. The entire cast felt like they have been working together for years! The only things I could possibly find to critique on this pilot were a few reaction shots that felt like they should have been cut to the character talking sooner but that's more of a personal choice on my end. The CGI in one of the scenes felt a little underdeveloped but it doesn't deter from the whole film. The rest were a few sound and sync issues that im certain were from the theater showing the film and not the film itself. To think that this is only the pilot waiting to be picked up has me wanting more! If you get a chance to watch this film I implore you to do so and show your support so they can continue to make the rest of the series and blow up like they have earned to!
Tax Season is a must see film. It's hilarious, suspenseful, captivating, and real. Shadetree Visuals featuring Shadetree K-Dee as the visionary, along with his talented team did an outstanding job bringing the film to life. The cast was phenomenal, the set was creative as well as beautiful, showcasing the area. Even the music in the film had a beat that kept you enthralled with the scenes. The cliffhanger definitely has me wanting more. I can't wait for the next episode. Thumbs up to Tax Season. Well worth watching. You won't be disappointed. So sit back with your popcorn and enjoy this series. Congratulations!

Tax Season has a mixture of seasoned and veteran actors and actresses and there are some making their debuts. Our veterans did their thing, experience. Jonathan Adams(Big Bird),Brittany Altenback (Angel) and Deak Small (Pee-Wee) just to name a few.
Tax Season impressive.takes was with Rapper and Newcomers Rick Starr (Jr.) and Director. Shadetree K D and Associate. Rick Starr's (Jr.) ran out of his block sprinting in his debut as a main character and rapper on the big screen as if he was expecting to win gold at the Olympics, and He did just that.
Shadetree Visuals aka Shadetree KD. Made a Grand Slam also as a newcomer to the big screen as well. Stay tuned as he prayerfully tries to turn Tax Season even more to television as a series.
