NBC’s Brilliant Minds will premiere in September of the upcoming fall season.
While medical dramas are a dime a dozen, Brilliant Minds differs because it’s based on the real-life Dr. Oliver Wolf Sacks.
The series focuses on the larger-than-life neurologist who was not afraid to break the rules to help his patients live life to the fullest.
(Brendan Meadows/NBC)
While the series focuses mainly on the protagonist, it also includes an exciting ensemble, including his old friend Dr. Pierce and his team of interns.
The team explores cases related to the human mind while examining their own mental health issues and relationships.
With real-life inspiration, rich characters, and a talented cast, we hope this series lasts for many seasons. Meet the cast and characters in Brilliant Minds.

“FBI” will say goodbye to a series regular in Season 7. Katherine Renee Kane is gearing up to exit the CBS crime procedural, with plans for her to appear in at least one episode before saying farewell.
Kane joined the show in Season 3 as a series regular following Ebonee Noel’s exit. The reason for her departure was not revealed.
The news comes after a hectic season for Tiffany, as she worked to avenge the death of her friend and colleague Trevor Hobbs (Roshawn Franklin) at the hands of Hakim Siran (Antwayn Hopper). The Season 6 finale followed as she took out the terrorist, and almost lost her job in the process.
“I think that people who work on the front line and those at war have more in common than we admit. But [Tiffany] experienced, in a way, some Ptsd. And though she’s doing the work, just like in real life,...

Exclusive: Emmy winner Mandy Patinkin (Homeland) has boarded The Ever Curious Man, the first documentary feature from Ivan Cash, as an executive producer.
Patinkin’s wife, actor and writer Kathryn Grody, will also exec produce the project, with Jake Ewald serving as producer.
Focusing on the artistic legacy of sculptor Sydney Cash, a compulsive 80-year-old artist (and the filmmaker’s father), the film explores the staggering beauty and sobering cost of life as an artist. At his advanced age, Cash faces a crossroads. The lease to his biggest storage space of 35 years is ending, forcing the family and him to decide what will happen to all of his work (some pieces 12 feet tall).

When the cast of next year’s The Fantastic Four was announced, a lot of people – including our readers – were left underwhelmed. One decision that failed to push much interest was Pedro Pascal, who was cast as Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic. We all love Pascal but one does have to wonder what somebody else could do with the role; and certainly there were a lot of other names that were either considered or wanted it. One in the latter camp is Rahul Kohli, better known for TV work for Mike Flanagan.
Rahul Kohli recently recalled being passed over for one of the lead roles in The Fantastic Four, saying it represents where he is in his career. “I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it but I didn’t get it, is the important thing. But on good days, I see the Constantine. It will flare up once and again.

Exclusive: Death and Other Details co-creator/executive producer Mike Weiss has joined CBS’ drama series FBI as executive producer and showrunner. Meanwhile, Allen MacDonald has been tapped as executive producer and showrunner of NBC’s Chicago Med. Both Wolf Entertainment/Universal Television dramas are Top 10 broadcast series in Live+7 Nielsen viewership.
Weiss and MacDonald fill the showrunner vacancies left by the departures of veterans Rick Eid (FBI) and Diane Frolov and Andy Schneider (Chicago Med) who had been at the helm of the two series from the start. (Eid continues as showrunner of Wolf’s Law & Order.) The showrunners of the remaining FBI, Chicago and Law & Order series are staying put.

The Other Black Girl will not return.
Hulu has canceled the comedy series based on the book of the same name by Zakiya Dalila Harris after a single season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
First put in development in April 2020 before Tara Duncan signed on to serve as president of Disney’s Bipoc-focused studio Onyx Collective, the 10-episode satirical comedy about the publishing world dropped its full season in September to impressive reviews. The series currently has an 86 percent rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences seem to have rejected The Other Black Girl with that score sitting at a lackluster 50 percent among viewers.
Danielle Henderson (Sorry for Your Loss) originally was set to serve as showrunner but was ultimately replaced by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey. Exec producers on the series included Onyx’s Duncan, Rashida Jones, Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, Adam Fishbach and author Harris.

Now we’ll never know which poor soul these severed limbs belonged to. Hulu has opted not to renew murder mystery series Death and Other Details for a second season.
The news is not really surprising; the visually stylish series starring Mandy Patinkin and Violett Beane had a pretty quiet run, not able to break into Nielsen’s weekly Top 10 streaming ratings.
Written by Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, Death and Other Details‘ first season stars Patinkin as “the world’s once greatest detective,” Rufus Cotesworth, and Beane as his protégée, Imogene, as they team up to solve a murder on a luxury ocean liner filled with the wealthy and powerful while sailing the Mediterranean. Their search for the truth pits them against a powerful enemy, Victor Sams.

This article contains spoilers for the first two seasons of The White Lotus.
There may not be a detective on the guest list at The White Lotus, but the dark dramedy could certainly use one.
After all, both seasons of the HBO anthology series start with glimpses of dead bodies and spend subsequent episodes tracking the story of how those individuals ended up in such an … unfortunate state. Hulu‘s Death and Other Details is a bit more up front with its detective work and murder plot, but the series’ witty humor and vibrant scenery gives definite The White Lotus vibes and makes a great stand-in while fans wait for The White Lotus season 3 to drop in 2025. After all, what’s more entertaining than watching wealthy, love-to-hate characters suffer a bit of misfortune on their opulent vacations?

Previously in Death and Other Details episode 6, Llewellyn Mathers committed suicide by jumping off the ship, but before he took such a drastic step, he revealed to Imogene that he was well acquainted with Kira Scott (Imogene’s mother), who didn’t deserve to die. Imogene was baffled by the entire scenario, realizing that Mathers knew something about her mother’s death, so she urged Rufus to enlighten her more about her mother’s murder case that the detective had previously worked on. But Rufus, who had left the investigation in the middle, told Imogene that he had missed some crucial clues regarding the case.

In the previous episode of Death and Other Details, after Keith Trubitsky’s mysterious death, Rufus and Imogene began to investigate the murder. An Interpol agent, Hilda Eriksen, took over the investigation, and Jules became the prime suspect, as he was a wanted criminal in three different countries. Jules wanted to get the refugees to a safe place, and Imogene and Sunil helped him do this, but Interpol Agent Eriksen arrested Jules. Meanwhile, Leila, who was a reporter and someone who worked on the case of Viktor Sams, talked to Rufus, informing him that she suspected Viktor Sams’ involvement in Keith Trubitsky’s murder. Viktor Sams seemed to be the main antagonist of the story and an old target of Rufus Cotesworth. In Death and Other Details episode 5, let’s see how close Rufus was to finding out where Viktor Sams was.

The case is shrouded by a mysterious connection with the Colliers and the Chuns, two affluent families aboard the ship. Imogene, who sought justice for her mother’s mysterious death, thought the Colliers had something to do with it. Meanwhile, an Interpol agent, Hilde Eriksen, intervened in Rufus and Imogene’s investigation by coming up with her own conclusions. Let’s see if Rufus and Imogene will be able to identify the actual killer in this latest episode of Death and Other Details.

According to Mike Weiss and Heidi Cole McAdams, the co-creators of Hulu’s Death and Other Details, one of the guiding principles to creating a good murder mystery TV series is to not deceive the audience. When something happens, it needs to stick.
“You have to play fair with the audience,” McAdams tells Primetimer. “Each of your twists, when they all add up at the end, need to exist in the same story and not contradict each other.”
So when Winnie (Annie Q. Riegel), the soft-spoken deck waitress, confesses to the murder of Keith (Michael Gladis) at the end of Episode 4, audiences should believe her. Just don’t be naive enough to think that’s the whole story.

Death and Other Details Episode 3 added a few more twists and turns to the murder investigation of David/Keith, Rufus’ assistant. Imogen helped Rufus as much as possible before she had to get others involved lest Interpol be notified about her covert activities. We can expect the case will have some more twists and turns, considering it’s just the third episode. There is a lot more hidden in Varuna, and Imogen discovers secret passageways, confirming exactly that. But before all that happened, a few secrets came out in the open, and the facade of a righteous life was shattered. How that would impact the case is yet to be determined. Rufus, meanwhile, had the pleasure of working with Interpol’s ‘best man,’ a woman named Hilde Erikson, as she bulldozed her way into the investigation, trying to get to the truth as quickly as possible.

Not to be confused with the similarly titled “The Woman on the Train” or “The Woman in the Window,” the gripping limited series “The Woman in the Wall” is finally making its U.S. debut after airing overseas last summer.
The gripping thriller, which will get a preview on Paramount+ Friday before officially premiering Sunday on Showtime, stars Golden Globe winner Ruth Wilson as Lorna Brady, a survivor of the Catholic Church-run Magdalene Laundries of Ireland whose daughter was taken from her as a teenager. Her lingering trauma as a result of the experience bleeds into every aspect of her adult life, leading to bouts of sleepwalking and intense paranoia. So when Lorna wakes up one morning to find a dead woman in her house and no recollection of who she is or how she got there, she assumes she’s responsible and quickly hides the body in the walls of her home.

Death and Other Details is the brand-new Hulu original series in the whodunit genre that follows in the footsteps of Knives Out, Gone Girl, Fargo, Seven, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, True Detective, and Broadchurch. These are probably some of the best crime dramas in which a murderer is a looming figure throughout the runtime while the investigation and questioning happen simultaneously, as many are eager to find out who the killer could be. The Hulu series revolves around a murder that takes place on a cruise liner. Every person associated with the victim is under scrutiny and being treated as a suspect. Each episode unfolds a new facet of each character on board, and the first one is an introduction to the show.

“Pay attention: Details matter,” growls a heavily accented Mandy Patinkin as detective Rufus Cotesworth in the opening seconds of “Death and Other Details,” created by Heidi Cole McAdams and Mike Weiss. There’s more to the quote — hours, and hours, in fact, of droll monologues about perception and detection throughout the series — but Hulu and ABC Signature’s new show appears to have skimped heavily on attention to detail, resulting in a product so shallow, so ramshackle, that it borders on unwatchable.
To its detriment, “Death and Other Details” is not as much about Rufus Cotesworth (a character who will only be referred to by his delightful full name throughout this piece), but about Imogene Scott (Violett Beane), who met him as a child while he was investigating her mother’s death. The orphaned Imogene was taken in by the Colliers, a family of the kind of wealth that outwardly...

It isn’t just you. We’re two weeks into the new year and every show on TV has become a murder mystery.
There are reality murder mysteries (Traitors) and animated murder mysteries (Grimsburg) and British murder mysteries (Criminal Record) and occult murder mysteries (Sanctuary: A Witch’s Tale). There are murder mysteries without daylight (True Detective: Night Country) and adapted recent murder mysteries (Fool Me Once) and adapted characters in original murder mysteries (Monsieur Spade).
Those are just January premieres. So far. There’ll be at least one more new murder mystery before the end of the week (The Woman in the Wall).
It’s easy to point to the blockbuster success of the two Knives Out movies and the steady success of the Kenneth Branagh/Michael Green-steered Hercule Poirot movies as a business-driven cause.
Sociologically, it’s easy to point to a decade of distrust of institutional policing...

This review of Hulu’s new murder mystery series Death and Other Details comes with a disclaimer.
As it says right there in the title, the series traffics in the finer details of an elaborate murder investigation set on board a luxury cruise liner with a vast array of filthy-rich suspects and shady motives. But by the very nature of the genre, many of those details are off limits to the critical dissection that follows. A murder mystery may be about exposing the details, but criticism is burdened with knowing what to keep buried.

Murder mystery drama Death And Other Details is heading to Disney+ – and the show even has a new trailer! Have a gander within.
Michael Weiss has been a producer and screenwriter on many successful shows, including Chicago P.D, The Mentalist and the terrific Cobie Smulders private eye comedy drama Stumptown, which sadly only ran for a single series but is well worth watching. It’s currently streaming on Disney+.
Weiss is now co-showrunner of Death And Other Details, a murder mystery drama series heading to Hulu in the US and Disney+ in other territories, including the UK. It looks like a cross between Death On The Nile and The White Lotus, which is a pretty good hybrid if you ask us.

"Where were you between midnight and 8Am?" Hulu has revealed the official trailer for another murder mystery comedy series titled Death and Other Details, which will begin streaming this month. This 10-episode series is set on a cruise ship sailing around the Mediterranean, borrowing from Agatha Christie, of course.
