Have to agree with some of the other reviewers that Couture is HORRIBLE. Dude cannot act and in this type of flick it stands out. The rest of the cast was good except Mandylor and the black FBI actor who was a clown.. Mandylor has never been better than B-Movie casting anyway.
Like I said in my title, not a horrible movie but a strange plot that isn't very believable but standard fare I guess for these type movies. Wasn't worth $7 but if you can see it for free then it's 'ok' if you got nothing else to watch.

From cast to acting to the story, it was B rated all the way.
We get to see a 2nd copy of Jason Statham, a 2nd copy of Paul Walker and Miami Vice cops (Don Johnson & Philip Michael Thomas) look alikes?
Quite frankly, I wish I had wasted my 90 minutes on doing something else?

The film was a waste of film, and time. After watching how things played out throughout the movie, I kept shaking my head waiting for how the various characters were motivated, and how they made the choices they made to make some sense. Throughout the movie I felt like something essential was missing which was hard to explain except for it being the time I wasted watching this turkey. I find reviews that give this an ok rating for action, or anything else hard to comprehend. Except to say this was time spent in which I felt the loss of a chance to do something interesting; instead I watched this.

How can Tibor Takacs, a seasoned director with almost 50 directing credits, give us this type of nonsense? For starters, he failed miserably in directing his cast. Most held their own, considering, but many needed casting direction to show some emotions in their dialogue or facial expressions in most of the scenes. Michele Plaia's acting was stale and unconvincing, but a good director can easily direct even an amateur 5 year old actor with ease, so that's all on him. Takas also dragged out too many scenes, and failed with his slow pacing, that the normally 93 min runtime felt much longer.
Then you have four writers giving us a cliched screenplay, with some cringeworthy scenes, especially the dialogue in the meet-up at the casino at the very end. Even the Italian mobsters were hilariously over-cliched with some very cheesy dialogue. A fifth grade drama class could've come up with better dialogue.
It's too bad, because although not revolutionary, the story had some great ideas. Aside from all that, you have your typical B film score - loud and overbearing, but surprisingly the cinematography wasn't too bad. If you're a fan of Louis Mandylor, Randy Couture or Cam Gigandet, you may still enjoy this - if there's nothing else to watch. For me, it's a generous 5/10.

What you nailed together.
It's okay that you didn't have much money, but then please make more of it and don't waste it on another cheaply produced action film.
The actors have charisma but little talent.

If you have absolutely nothing to do with your time or you're just having a hard time falling asleep and you don't mind watching a bunch no talent having actors, with a poorly writing script and a ridiculously predictable film, then have a crack at Blowback. This was by far one of the lamest films I've watched because it was late and I needed to something to help me fall asleep.

The movie could have used a better script and character journeys. A lot of these reviews knock the script which is true but the acting isn't bad. Michele Plaia is a fresh new talent and a baddie with some great range. Cam Gigandet was solid for most of the movie. I enjoyed the love triangle and would have liked to see more of the relationships driving the movie direction.
The script is so poorly written, the plot is not connected and has major flaws. Like you feel the scenes were shot for a 3 hours movies, but then they deleted half of them, this is just to show you how disconnected the plot is. Don't waste your time watching this, you better watch a good movie you watched before than this.

Blowback adds refreshing twists to the bank heist genre. Cam Gigandet and Randy Couture are great, but the real scene-stealer is Michele Plaia - she's one to look out for and I expect to see her in more moving forward.
Ok
The bad
Both Randy Couture and Louis Mandylor are awful actors, I'm not sure when it became essential that if you are good in the UFC you automatically are made a movie star, Holloway, Rousey, Couture and Bisping to name a few, Both of the above should be in hallmark movies, if any, they are not even B actors
The Good To say this is a direct to streaming B movie, the overall story and premise are good, I quite enjoyed the movie and to say that it's cheap and cheerful with uncostly supporting cast I think that says a lot
The Brilliant Cam Gigandet He is given the lead role in a cheap B movie and is absolutely head and shoulders above the rest, regardless of how much he was paid he has given his best and shows that he should be in more A movies, he takes what he is given and makes it a stellar performance, i couldn't believe how impressive he was and he should now have put himself in the shop window as a bankable asset to any movie, look no further if you want someone who will put their heart and soul into any role they are given.
This movie doesht deserve him, so the fact he gave such a good showing should propel him into more lucrative roles However I feer it won't as this will go under the radar.

The premise is an ex-con's daughter is in the hospital with some mystery ailment. Her dad needs money so he orchestrates a bank robbery. The job goes off without a hitch. His crew double crosses him and he's left for dead. He survives and revenge follows.
Movies usually have some point or message or reason for their existence. This movie offers nothing. Before the robbery a nurse told him his daughter would be cared for regardless of his ability to pay. So much for the premise. The guy committed armed robbery, so we sure as heck aren't rooting for him. He pursues revenge on members of his crew (no spoilers here) and we're not rooting for them, either. The police are trying to catch them, and we desperately want to root for them. Except the good guys are cardboard cutouts who could have been named Officer One, Officer Two for all we know about them.
Randy Coutour and his girlfriend were both laughably bad. The rest of the performances were Oscar worthy in comparison.
What is terrible is the movie begins with a thirty minute flashback of the robbery. Problem is the details of the robbery are entirely inconsequential. It could have been condensed into two sentences without impacting the plot. By the time the actual plot kicks in, it's been nearly an hour of pointless activity on screen. The final hour is slightly more engaging, but the director who couldn't make armed robbery interesting likewise couldn't make revenge interesting.
Four stars because I didn't turn it off. No additional stars because this is not a good movie.

A B-rated action flick that was simply lacking. The movie had potential but simply fails to deliver. The acting for the most part was mediocre at best, although the protagonist lead delivered better than most. Although Couture is not a great actor by any means he simply falls flat in this movie. The script is below par but the dialogue comes across as mostly believable. The cinematography was fine. Directing was lacking. Nothing new in terms of a story - a guy with a past doing the wrong things for the right reasons. Given the cast the movie certainly could have delivered more. Overall it is watchable, but very forgettable.

If you have a thing for B-Action movies (or whatever you would call them), then you will have fun with this one. And of course no pun intended with my summary line. Just riffing on the title as you can clearly see I reckon. That all being said, the cast exists with some very interesting people and choices. Some of whom you probably know or have heard about.
This is not a masterclass in acting and you probably have seen better action movies too (god I do hope you have), but that doesn't make this a lesser experience - suspension of disbelief and all that included or a pre-requisite of course. There are some twists along the way that may make this better ... on the other hand, they also may make it worse. Just know what is being served and ... well deal with it.

This was a good action movie with Cam doing the wrong thing for the right reason. Wish there had been more scenes with Michele Plaia to develop her character and the power she had over her two men. She made the most of her limited role and influenced several scenes. The movie needed more plot but the action and transitions kept the pace up.
